[Game Thread] Pokerole: Mount Coronet Mystery
Initiatives
M-Lopunny: 14
Midnight: 14
Draven: 13
Mightyena: 12
Orpheus: (3) + 7 = 10

Lycanroc* Round 2

Jump Kick 1
10 - 1 - 1 - 2 = 6
(3)(5)(6)(5)(3)(1)
4 + 5 + STAB - 4 + SE = 6 + 1
(6)(4)(2)(4)(3)(1) Midnight takes 4 damage! 3/7 HP -2 Pain

Rock Slide 1
(6)(4)(3)(1) That's a pass.  Midnight Lycanroc's attacks seem to be more accurate than they should be when he actually gets to use them.
2 + 4 + 3 - 1 - 2 - 2 = 5
(3)(3)(6)(4)(4) 3 successes

Orpheus isn't gonna let that happen that easily, though!

Twister Clash 1
(6)(5)(4)(4)(5)(1)(5)(3)(1) 5 successes

The Rock Slide becomes a tornado of rocks and dust.  Orpheus shields Draven from the worst of it at the expense of his own health, and everyone has to brace themselves lest they get knocked over by the force of the two moves colliding.

2* Str + 3 Pow + STAB - 2/3 = 1 (-1 on M-Lopunny)

Orpheus takes 2 damage due to covering Draven. 10/12 HP -1 Pain

Giga Drain 1

(5)(4)(6)(1)(1) Midnight takes 3 damage and faints!  His black aura vanishes into the darkness!
Draven recovers 1 HP from Giga Drain, and 1 from Bloodlust! 3/6 HP -2 Pain

Mightyena is in a little bit of a frenzy right now because he KOed the Midday Lycanroc (his current ability is Moxie), so Karen attempts to stop her dog.  "...th-that's enough, M-Mightyena.  Th-they're defeated...th-thank you..."

Mightyena turns and looks at Karen, still snarling...

L +1: (6)(6*)
D: (6)(4)(2)

...and then he stops snarling and sits.  He's still glaring at the wild dogs, though...

Mightyena has gained +1 Loyalty to Karen.

Poison: (1) Midday takes 1 Lethal damage -1/7

------------------------------------------

Karen's doing a little better when Kee asks, but she's still very nervous around those Lycanroc and her Mightyena.  She recalls Mightyena (who's behaving for now, thankfully), and distances herself as much as she can from the wild dogs.  She's not interested in being around them, let alone catching them.

Gonna do some additional rolls since Midday is still Poisoned.  All the Lycanroc have 8 base Will.

Shadow Kabutops Round 2

Susano'o winds up, then sweeps his liquid sword across half of the battlefield!

Hidden Power Water 1
(4)(2)(1)(1)(2)(2)(4)
(5)(3)(2)(3)(6)(3)(5)
3 of the Kabuto take 3 damage! 3/6 HP -2 Pain

Aspido's busy happily draining away at any Kabuto unfortunate enough to still be standing after each attack.

Giga Drain 1
(5)(5)(6)(3)(2)(5)
(4)(4)(2)(4) One of the Kabuto takes 5 damage and faints!
Aspido recovers 1 HP. 12/15 HP -1 Pain

Espeon suddenly glows with a bright light!  The Kabuto are almost blinded by the attack's brilliance!

Dazzling Gleam 1
12 - 2 - 2 = 8
(4)(3)(1)(3)(4)(5)(2)(3)
(4)(5)(2)(2) All of the remaining Kabuto take 2 damage!
Three at 1/6 HP -3 Pain
One at 4/6 HP -1 Pain

Their leader defeated and their numbers dwindling, the Kabuto start wildly attacking, completely uncoordinated.  Their attacks start flying in every direction, hitting everyone indiscriminately.

Rock Throw x4 1
2 + 3 + 3 - 1 - 2 - 1/3 = 4/2
(6)(2)(1)(2)
(6)(1)
(3)(1)
(4)(2) 3 Hits
(3)(2) No damage to Espeon
(5)(2)(4) No damage to Aspido
(4)(6) No damage to Susano'o

Aqua Jet x4 2
2 + 3 + 3 - 4 - 1/3 = 3/1
(3)(5)(1)
(1)
(1)
(2) 1 Hit
(2)(2) No damage to Espeon

Espeon's barriers hold firm, though, and everyone who's safe behind them begins picking off the tiny shelled pokemon one by one.

Waterfall 2
(6)(6)(6)(5)(3)
(6)(5)(2)(2)(2)(2)(2) One of the Kabuto takes 2 damage and faints!

Mega Drain 2
(5)(3)(2)(2)
Another Kabuto takes at least 2 damage and faints!
Aspido recovers 1 HP. 13/15 HP -1 Pain

Psychic 2
12 - 2 - 4 = 6
(6)(5)(1)(1)(6)(3)
4 + 3 + STAB + TS - 3 = 6
(6)(5)(2)(4)(6)(3) The healthiest Kabuto takes 4 damage and faints!

Iron Head 3
(5)(1)(3)
(6)(5)(4)(2)(6)(5)(3) The final Kabuto faints!

Kogeki's battlefield is now littered with the unconscious bodies of many Kabuto and their Kabutops leader.  Espeon retreats to Rui's side, a little battered, but definitely looking smug.  He knows his Reflect is what saved the day here.

Rui, Kogeki, Espeon, Aspido, Susano'o, and Gama all get 4 exp.

I imagine that the coal mine parrot would also 'share' with the smol siren a slightly resentful rendition of the Jaws tune to jarringly contrast with her carefree song. He's more passive aggressive with his disdain of others Actions, unlike his fellow avian Stymph, so if you somehow managed the bad fortune of angering him, expect all sorts of vocal hi-jinks .

Once the battle against the mob of moles was thoroughly concluded and the waters receded from Paula's Surf, Ran stepped forward to meet with his two partners, each giving them a pat on the head a satisfied grin before he addressed them both.

"Nice work dealing with them weird moles. Knew you could handle'em like reaching your high notes."

He'd then return both to their Pokeballs, but not before speaking with his best bird bro privately, raising an eyebrow at them while doing so.

"Don't think I didn't notice your attitude towards Paula, Beethoven. It's not something I appreciate , simply 'cause if you have anyone to be cross at for that Surf, it should be aimed at me. I'm the one who Ordered her to use it, after all, and I was confidant enough to do so 'cause I knew you'd be able to survive getting your feathers a little wet and help ring them moles clocks out. Understand me, partner?"

Regardless of that, he'd return Beethoven for a little rest before switching Paula out of his Party and into the PC, then summoning Zorn and gestured to all the soggy, Fainted little critters.

"Alright Zorn, are these the sort of Pokemon ya enjoy eating? They're small, mammalian, and don't have a hint of metal to them that I can detect, so if you don't like them, then I'm officially at a loss at what you will eat, besides Pokechow."

If they are and he eats them all, goodie! Promise to his scaled subterror at last fulfilled! If not, shoot! Back to the hunt then....

(Or if they don't eat all the moles, Ran would think this is a prime opportunity to summon and greet his new Aerodactyl, as what better way to do introductions than with a nice meal for your new partner? In that case, give me a scene that shows off their personality and reaction to Ran upon being released and then offered fooooood.)

After all these scenes are played out, Ran will reunite with the group and decide from there if they'll split up or stay together, and what path(s) they'll choose!

With those wolfs of a dog defeated + purified AND Karen starting to calm down agan once Kee managed to capture them all, he himself can finally calm down as well: He does so by taking a deep breath and running a hand through his hair, patting Draven, sharing a fond cuddle with Orpheus and eventually all carefully and gently bringing his likewise most dear Pokemon Companion back to conscious with a Revive: Octavia's still a little shaky on her smol paws (being at -2 Pain), but that doesn't prevent her from reciprocating the fond cuddle Kee's offering her and wraping a ribbon of hers around his wrist: She notices that Kee's feeling that HE is to blame for her being KO'd, which Octavia doesn't agree with in the slightest: She quickly lick over his cheek and purrs to console and cheer him up, she receives a quiet "Thanks... But, I still failed you here, so I'll see that this will NOT happen 'gain." as a response. She gives him more thankful licks and nuzzles as she's brought back to full HP via 1 Potion. Now she sparkles and scatters fairy dust all over him like always again!~

Then he finally takes the time to pick up all the Pokeballs occupied with all three Lycanroc, and doing so adds a good portion to restoring his cheer. After all he now can say that he owns all three Forms of this doggo all three in 'INCLUDING the rare and valuable Dusk Form', yay!~ What he'll do with them is still up in the air.

But BEFORE he sends them all his account on Bebe's PC, he turns towards his sparkling faeeveelution once more: "D'you think ya can let a Healing Bell ring b'fore they're off? Yesyes I know a nurse will handle 'em immediately once noticin' the doggo's state, but we don't wanna give her a heart attack nor let 'em suffer unnecessarily, do we?~"

This means she will cast a Heal Bell to cure all the Lycanroc's paralysis as well as the Midday Form's poisoning, then send them to the PC. If an Accu Rolll is needed for that, it's 4 Special + 4 Contest + 3 Perform - 2 Pain = 9d6.

Once that's done, he approaches Draven once more, stroking him over the bat-ears and telling him that "How 'bout, d'you wanna take a break 's well, restore some more of your vigor? Given this terrain we're c'rrently in it'd do ya well, 'n I don't wanna throw you at more foes that may be immune to your toxins. ...So?~" Only (and ONLY) if Draven agrees, he's sent to the PC as well, and his free place in the party will be taken by Mercury.

And finally, once all that is done and dealt with, he offers a hand and an encouraging smile towards Karen: "So, how 'bout we get goin' then as well?~ I've sent the Lycanroc to a PC Box of mine for proper treatment at a Center, they're not with me right now. I'm the least one ya'd have to fear anythin' from, and I'm making DAMN SURE that it'll stay that way."

Well, Kee's FOR splitting up, for the sole sake of finding the Stairs faster. " 'kay then... Everyone who wishes to go eastwards aka in the opposite direction of that crystal-y Steelix raise yar hand!~~" Kee does so immediately.

What he also does before a potential splitting up is nudging Ran to get his attention. "Eh, ya said ya...been workin' in a mine for quite a while, didn't ya? Care to tell me...how to additionally increase the chance of surviving and getting along here, any more warning signals like trembles I should keep 'n eye or two open, are there any further things one should definitely NOT do in such an environment bar the obvious like 'no usage of moves like Earthquake'? Any advice's fine and valuable, ya see...?"

Kee's not scared, he just wishes to make good use or Ran's experience and home advantage because just a few seconds ago the mine has proven to be a hell of a dangerous place.

Ran has the polar opposite decision to the eccentric dandy's own, keeping his hands down and arms crossed as he shook his head lightly.

"After that crystalline snake nearly burried 'n flattened us, I want to track it down and deal with it 'fore it can possibly get any ideas of coming back to give us an Encore of perilous grief. *Shakes head* I don't blame you or anyone else not wanting to tackle a odd Steelix in a place like this, so I'm fine taking going after and taking care of it myself if need be. *Shrugs* 'Sides, I've experience wearing down Steelix before, so I'm confidant I can handle this one if it dares cross my path...."

Their question earns them a look from the scuffy smith, before he thought about it for a few seconds and answered.

"Stay away from the walls much as you can, avoid using Moves that can cause massive collateral damage or have a high chance of causing structural failure (IE: AoE Moves, Ground Type and some Rock Type Moves, REALLY powerful Moves, that sort of thing), and if the stone around ya starts shaking, vibrating, or flaking off, trouble is about to find ya, so you better get 'fore it gets you. If you here Beethoven start raising hell throughout the mines, that means something seriously wrong has or is about to happen, so prepare yourself for the worst. Finally, avoid messing with the walls or floor of the mines too much, as that's a prime opportunity to have them fail ya disastrously. Got all that?"

(Still waiting Dragonstrike if Kogeki capture or not but I do have a input on this)

Kogeki raise his voice. "Maybe it's not the most wise choice Master Rans. Milotic warn me that creature is powerful. And although I also tempt to go after that creature, we don't have much time. We still need to reach the top, and we still have difficult battles ahead. I must agree with Kee this time."

"However, if you insist on that course of action, I will offer my help. After all, no one can deal with that thing alone. And would be interesting in see a little competition who would capture it first."

I have one more addition to add to Randolph's warnings: Fire type moves have a tendency to heat up coal veins.  Heated coal veins are dangerous to touch, as coal gets hot very quickly and stays hot for a long time.

In addition, methane in coal veins is potentially combustible.  Fire type moves should be used with extreme caution.
