"You're assuming that the military doesn't have orders to permanently contain or confiscate any lab experiments  that escape or are found as their own or League property, or that if they wouldn't want to deal with a rouge and unauthorized Nuclear Pokemon before it could possibly cause any trouble to Cheshire. Or if any other complications don't arise from what appears to be a timid Nuclear Pokemon and my deeply sympathetic and wild fae spirit that is my dearest being crowded and menaced by squads of soldiers that neither have much reason to care about, if push comes to shove. Or the League doesn't have a standing policies to dispose or detain Nuclear Pokemon, or treaties with Tandor to have them deported over any that arise here to them. Furthermore, I also find Garliburg's military's competence in security and spec ops questionable, seeing as they failed spectacularly to detect the rats that made a hellish den out of their labs, and the various secrets you and my dearest have uncovered in hardly no time at all. If that is any indication, getting past their radar shouldn't be an issue, especially seeing the method I'd employ is completely unconventional and I can be back onto the island after consulting with her before my absence could be noticed or considered worrisome.

Your faith in your region's government and armed forces could be considered commendable by many, but from where I stand.....well, I'm reluctant to trust them anymore than I have to. Which, given all I have said already, I don't. Your thoughts on this all, Nate?"

"I'm assuming that they're not going to let us out of here without a thorough inspection and a detailed report of what happened, given that we're partially doing this as a favor for them.  I highly doubt they'll have an extermination policy in place, but they'll definitely want to make sure any possible dangers are well contained before letting them loose.  If Dagny can't clear the metaphorical air, she can probably contact someone who can so that Shiva can actually leave the island with that Nucleon without raising any alarms.  If Dagny or someone experienced with Nuclear types can verify Shiva's claim that Nucleon aren't as dangerous as a typical Nuclear type, then I don't expect there'll be many problems in the long term."

"Let's try not to worry about it too much, though.  We'll cross that bridge when we get there.  Right now, we need to finish up here, then check out as much of the rest of this facility as we can."

" ....There are ways to smuggle Items and Pokemon that are unlikely to be detected by even the military, and we could always omit and reinterpret the details of our findings here to facilitate any cover up. It bears repeating since you didn't refute this, but the military could still take the Nucleon away permanently, as it could be classified as the lab's property and therefore the League has first and final claim to it. Or simply on the grounds of it being a Nuclear Pokemon, because they are foreign and illegal threats to the civilized and uncivilized parts of Cheshire, no matter what degree of 'danger' individual species possess. Dagny wouldn't be able to entirely refute the later concerns, nor is it likely she could make a bargain or persuasive argument for Shiva to keep it if either the League or military make a claim onto it ASAP, so in either event being frank about Nucleon's existence leads to an undesirable outcome for our friend. Even if the military does't pluck the creature right away from her for keeps, there are still plenty of ways for them and the League to make her and all our lives difficult for trying to keep it before Dagny can attempt to help - or for things to escalate poorly regardless, a worryingly common trend for the group, sans my inclusion in it or not.

" *Sighs* ....But I can already see I'm currently unable to convince you the veracity of my points or plans. Not enough to give you pause for my concerns or unseat your mind from the course of action it has decided upon, at least. Trying to talk about this any further will lead us nowhere but in circles, so I'll table this discussion for now. Perhaps we can talk about this again later before we report to the military, after we have more time to think about it and completed our investigation, perhaps not. For now, I'll try the best to do as you recommend and carry on."

With that said, Ventus shakes his head to himself before falling silent. His nerves still in a tizzy from this discovery, and his swirling emotional maelstorm had only been amplified, but despite that his talk with Nathan did do his spirits some good, if his somewhat more looser posture is a sign of that. Burning some of his fretful energy away with their talk was also nice for him too, since it solidified those ideas in his head and stopped him from endlessly overthinking things or for him to come up with worse. Hopefully Nathan got plenty of good out of this meeting too, so the eccentric researcher wishes that to be.

Yes, Nucleon is the lordly presence. It feels entirely confident while in a nuclear area. That'll be another challenge you have to overcome.

Where to now? You got the sound of waves, you got the elemental doors, or maybe you're ready to move on from the lab entirely.

Huh, so smol Nucleon's being this interesting and curious presence Shiva picked up - Aww now that she understands she very gently presses the Nukeeveelution a little closer to her as if she aims to soak this calm and lordly presence up to forever lock it into her heart and memory; and whispers some faint words to Nucleon. "You're so little and you already feel so confident, dear one... I'm so sorry that I can't just leave you here to let you have your peace fior just a bit longer *held back sob and sniffle* But... BUT! We'll be fine, won't we, I'll do what I can so that you'll... You'll be alright and healthy to grow into a strong and capable one under my care regardless the lack of radiation you'll have to suffer... Just give me a chance, okay? Okay, we... We should get going then, come on..." Despite this nuclear room being full of dead bodies and her fix on the emitted radiation from the conduit will break very soon, Shiva's almost...reluctant to leave.

Back into the room with the incinerator it goes, where the hazmant suits can be put off again and smol Nucleon will be set down to the ground and presented a Conditional Ball. "For your own safety and secure containment, I need to register you to this Ball here, alright? Unexplored territory and unknown dangers await ahead, and I wish to SLOWLY get you used to no nuclear radiation around. You understand? I'm going to keep you with me though, so fear not, and of course you shall keep a close hold onto you're nice scarf and my gifted gemstone, dear one!"

And so smol Nucleon is registered to Shiva, Klefki is sent to her PC to make room for Nucleon. Is it fine if I make them a female exemplar? And nickname them 'Curie' just because? ^^

Now, the next thing to check out: This functioning retinal scanner in the room with the incinerator and Inceneragmortar mentioned here - now that the latter's caught and contained in a Heavy Ball, there's more time and muse to explore! Shiva checks whether there is a keypad where a password needs to be entered is connected to this scanner or not.

There's no keypad on this one, just the retinal scanner.

Unlike, Shiva, Nathan is more than happy to be leaving the irradiated room.  That place is giving him the creeps...

Before taking off the hazmat suit in the definitely not irradiated incinerator room, Nathan wants to check the geiger counter and make absolutely sure that Nucleon isn't passively producing worrying amounts of radiation while they're still out and about.  Nathan is not going to take Shiva's word that Nucleon aren't dangerous to merely be around when the topic in question concerns nuclear radiation.  And if Nucleon isn't safe to be around without protective gear...well, Nathan will have at least a few cautioning words for Shiva.  (as an aside, Nathan can't help but shudder when he hears that nickname for Nucleon.  That's an...unfortunate choice IC...)

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Concerning the door, Shiva's guess is right on the nose.  "Yup, brought both Porygon-Z and Pulse along in the event their abilities to infiltrate electronics might be handy."

So, out come those two pokemon, and Nathan poses his request to them.  "Porygon-Z, Pulse.  You think you can open that electronically locked door for us by hacking that retinal scanner?  You might be able to do some fun things with that display while you're at it, too.  Get that door open for us without sounding any alarms, and you're welcome to have a little fun with it afterwards."

Nucleon is safe to be around without a suit, as long as it isn't target you with any Nuclear moves. As shown in Pokemon Uranium, that is NOT safe.

Pulse takes physical control of the retinal scanner, which has to be aimed precisely, while Porygon-Z changes its software to accept Nathan's eye or Shiva's, and then overwrites the retinal data afterward. Anyone accessing the records will see only the four cartoonish eyes that are currently filling the screen. Two mischievous and crossed Rotom eyes, one crazy swirling PorygonZ eye, and one pirate eyepatch with a swirling pattern on it. They bounce around like a game of Pong while the door's bolt hisses into the unlocked position. No alarm was triggered.
