[Game Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows

"Can't take the Normal type or Fighting type Maze? There might be Normal types with access to Dark moves, but at least my chances of survive would be a little higher."

Poliwrath laughs.  "Oh, I think you've got the wrong idea about what I'm asking you to do, little ghost.  I'm not asking you to challenge one of the Mazes, I'm asking you to help out by being one of the 'wild' pokemon in the Ghost Maze for the duration you're assisting.  Seeing as you're just a Ghost type and your team's still just Normal Rank, that's the only maze you're eligible to help with.  Being one of the volunteers means you could be facing any kind of pokemon, not just Ghosts looking to further their experience with facing their kin."

Pyra's first thought upon entering the T.M. was one of wistful nostalgia as she eyed the cobwebbed room. It was not too long ago when her group started out their existence in this Pokemon World navigating out of a dead end cave and battling a most annoying Spinerack and its Poisonous buddies after all, so in a way this trip could be consider a short walk down memory line for herself.

Speaking of the cobwebs, any chance she'd be able to collect some as Crafting Material? She already has some stored away, but getting more of the sticky, stringy, and strong silken thread was not something she'd turn her nose up at!

Before the brimstone imp could get too lost in her thoughts the door grinding shut started her, causing her to jump before she whirled around and eyed the now closed entrance with a slight smile, before turning to Karen an the Litwick.

".....Only forward we can go now, to escape this maze-labyrinth. Unless we fall and Faint, but that is not something we should wish to dwell on, no."

The lil' imp would then join Karen in investigating the Room's Items, looking over them when presented before prompting choosing to keep the Apple for herself and telling them to share the Orans with the candlewick spirit with a kind smile.

"Your health-wealth is a must to protect and preserve, yes, and I am durable myself to not have great need for it. If need be, if you desire I need repair, your Life Dew should do the trick for we-me-us."

Besides that Litwick's timidness does not go unnoticed by her, unfortunately for it, and it earns them her undivided attention as she regarded them carefully.

"........Life Spark Litwick you need not fear me or be so reserved. Though I do not find you yet fond-trust-worthy, you are still one of my charges and team mate, all of whom I protect and care for to my very utmost. Rest assured you will be safe and well with me as we travel and train through this Bug filled maze, yes yes."

She gave them a slight ghost of a smile as she finished, trying to appear to be at the very least a little bit friendly and reassuring to it. In truth she would greatly prefer herself and her friends having as little to deal with the troublesome Ghost (and most other 'persuaded'  recruited Pokemon) as possible and did not care for them in the slightest personally. She considered that lot unnecessary distractions or irrelevant peons in the grand scheme of things at best, outright threats and nuisances to everyone she care about at worst, and things the didn't deserve much consideration for compassion, care, or sympathy regardless.

However, a friend/ally of her friends was one of hers as well whether she liked/accepted them or not (as she stated in the Hall of Magic), and if they were determined to bond and make use of them then it was her duty to help and safeguard them (the 'recruits') to the best of her abilities. If that meant putting aside her apathy and misgivings for the 'recruits'  and being nicer with them, then so be it. Plus she had already taken responsibility for Training Litwick, so her being standoffish to it and them be reluctant to be around them wouldn't help that self appointed job of her, oh no no.

With all that being said, Pyra turns her attention to the pathways forward for a moment, listening to the indiscriminate buzzes and clanking of chiten coming from each of them, before turn back to her group members and pointing to Entrance A.

"We shall go that way, start our journey this way, yes. Come along, let us begin."

Luck Die!

(5) Bzzzzzt.  So close, yet so far...

Poliwrath doesn't even blink as Kee tries to enter the maze with the very large, very obvious accessory.  "Can't let you take that in, Zigzagoon.  Leave it here with me.  You'll get it back once you've finished your training."
(...)

FUUUUUUU Kee GLARES at Poliwrath without any obvious fear, but hands over his guitar bag eventually nonetheless. ...Not without some words of warning though! "Please take GOOD care of it, k? That bag's nat only for hoarding loot an' providin' a comfy place for me t'sleep in, it has a...well, meaning for me."

"Well, I wouldn't mind getting my hands on that scarf over there. I'm not doing too well in terms of money (Pyra giving us all that money was really nice of her), so I'd like to sell it to those Kecleon brothers. My suggestion for the other two is, Kee gets the Seed, and Klink can take the berry. Klink resists all of the flying type moves in here, and you're not exactly the bulkiest of us, Kee, so you might need the seed more. What do you guys think about that? Do you guys want something different?"
(...)

That's totally alright for Kee!~ He snatches the Seed, admires it for a moment, then immediately suffs it into his bag.
He's also fine with taking Passage B, so he eagerly follows Dax's lead.

Bug Maze, Room 2

Pyra leads Karen and the currently timid Litwick down the first cobweb decorated path of the Bug Maze, and the chittering gets louder as they do so.

After walking for several minutes down the path, they come upon another room, and once again, a stone door shuts behind the trio with a loud grinding of stone against stone.

The chittering quiets down as two Bugs that are in the room turn to look at who's arrived.  Hanging from a piece of stone jutting out from the wall is a Trash Cloak Burmy, and crawling out of one of the two tunnels leading out of this room is a Sewaddle.  Both Bug types tense up as they prepare for a fight that they both know they're unlikely to win.

Bug Room 2 Initiatives
Litwick: (6) + 3 = 9
Sewaddle: (4) + 2 = 6
Pyra: (2) + 2 = 4
Karen: (2) + 2= 4
Burmy: (2) + 2 = 4

GM's Note: When traveling with NPC pokemon like Litwick and Klink, players may give them orders much like a Pokemon Trainer would.

Flying Maze, Room 2

Daxter leads Kee and Klink down the second path, and the breeze picks up slightly as they continue down the corridor.  Just like with Pyra's group, the breeze quiets down when they enter the next room, and a stone door closes behind them.

In the room, a Mantyke peeks out of a pool of water in one corner, and the buzzing of a male Combee's wings can be heard coming from above.

There's also two items strewn about the room:
- An Oran Berry
- An Apple

With the wild pokemon present, picking those items up isn't going to be entirely trivial.  If you wish to pick up an item that's on the ground in the middle of combat, it takes one action to do so.

Flying Room 2 Initiatives
Daxter: (4) + 4 = 8
Kee: (6) + 3 = 9
Mantyke: (5) + 2 = 7
Combee: (2) + 2 = 4
Klink: (2) + 2 = 4

"Excellent!  Well, follow me, then, and I'll introduce you to the pokemon you'll be working with in the Ghost Maze.  Most of the 'wild' pokemon in the mazes operate in groups of two.  And you get all sorts of challengers as well."

Poliwrath takes all of Kogeki's items temporarily, the ninja finds himself partnered up with a Misdreavus in the Ghost Maze, and the two of them wait for a challenger to arrive in the Ghost Maze.

Ghost Maze 1

Eventually, someone does.  Emphasis on one.  A single, cocky looking Torracat walks into the Ghost Maze, takes one look at his opponents, and gets into a pouncing position.  "Well, this doesn't look so bad.  Alright, bring it on!"

Ghost Fight 1 Initiatives
Misdreavus: (6) + 2 = 8
Torracat: (1) + 4 = 5
Kogeki: (2) + 3 = 5

Dax stares at the Mantyke and Combee. The weird flappy thing is... a Water and Flying type? It looks like one. He had never seen one before. He did know what a Combee was though, and it was definitely a Bug and Flying type. That settled it. Easy decision then? He turns to his teammates.

"Alright guys. We're up. Klink, your Thunder Shock is gonna pack a wallop against the blue thingie. Have at it mate! And Kee, I think my Scratch and Klink's lightning are gonna fry the blue one. Maybe focus more on the bug? You know what to do. I'll blast both of them with Bubble. Should be pretty easy guys!"

Daxter takes a deep breath, and sprays a stream of Bubbles at the Mantyke and Combee before launching himself at Mantyke to Scratch it.

Bubble Accuracy: 2d6 Dex + 2d6 Fight + 1d6 Channel - 0d6 Pain = 5d6
Bubble Damage: 3d6 Special + 2d6 Power + d6 STAB = 6d6
Scratch Accuracy: 2d6 Dex + 2d6 Fight + 1d6 Brawl - 0d6 Pain = 5d6
Scratch Damage: 2d6 Strength + 2d6 Power = 4d6
I'm no one special. Also, here's a pupper pic:

Presumably the Litwick doesn't have a response for Pyra's niceties, which is almost enough to make her frown and press them again about them, but refrains from doing so after taking a quick glance at Karen and letting out a small *sigh* . Not off to a fine start with the new help, but she supposes it'll take some time and effort for them to warm up to her. Until then her fae friend can shoulder the emotional support aspect of the candlewick spirt all on her own, however undeserving of such a burden they are....

(...)

Upon seeing the Sewaddle and T.C. Burmy readying to fight them, the lil' demoness' smile turned positively feral as she leaned menacingly towards them.

"Oh, oh, brave and stalwart insects, are you not? Let's see if your squishy metal can withstand our smoldering flames then, yes yes yes."

Intimidate Triggered! - 1 STR for all Foes!

*Glances back at Litwick and Karen*

"Join me in a splendid demonstration of our power against Sewaddle, won't you please?"

Then, she moved, lunging towards the aforementioned Bug, Embers trailing from her nearly manic, toothy grin!

Orders: For Karen and Litwick, they'll Target Sewaddle with their strongest SE (For Litwick) or STAB (For Karen) attacks; she'll leave with Moves they use and how many Actions they take up to them for now (I don't really have a reference for their Moves or Total Accuracy Dice on hand right now, so I'll let you deal with their selection(s) for now). As for Pyra, Bite and Ember on Sewaddle, in that order. If it's Fainted before her 2nd Action OR Litwick manages to OHKO it , she'll smoothy transfer her Bite and/or Ember over to Burmy. Let the fires of conflict ignite.

Moves

Bite
Accuracy: DEX (2) + Fight (3) + Brawl (1) - 2 Actions = 4D6 Base Dice
Damage: STR (2) + 2 + STAB = 5D6 Base Damage
Effect: Known

Ember
Accuracy: Same as Bite
Damage: 5D6 + 2 Base Damage
Effect: Known

Kogeki follow Poliwrath to that challenge, and give the items he is carrying to him. A quick (attack) question Dragon: Didnt Poliwrath find strange a Pokemon carrwying a weapon such as kunai? Or did Kogeki was able to hide his weapon? Or Poliwrath didnt question and/or dont care very much?

The Anubis Riolu prepare himself for the battle ahead. "You also doesnt look bad. Prepare himself!"

I imagine Torracat have a Super Effective move against Ghosts right? Did Kogeki Ability trigger something?

Either way, Kogeki prepare himself to launch in battle. Hopefully, Torracat might target Misdreaveus, since right now the ninja dogo is the less dangerous target. If Torracat use a super effective, he is done for.

Bite: Dex(2)+Fight(2)+Brawl(2)-Actions(2)=4D6
Damage: Power(2)+STR(2)=4D6
Effect: D3 to Flinch.

Quick Attack: Dex(2)+Fight(2)+Brawl(2)-Actions(4)=2D6
Damage: Power(2)+STR(2)=4D6
Effect: Priority move.
Kogeki currently ability to active in battles: Anticipation.
