More STAAAAARING from Ziggy Kee, he gives Kogeki a bit of a shocked and confused expression. "Aha. And why d'ya think I'd do that...? *slight smile* C'mooooon K'geki, I thought ya know dear me." (^v^; )

The berry disappears into Forretress's shell, but it continues to glare at the party defensively as long as Pyra isn't standing down.

"Machamp...forced us out of the Hidden Mine...imprisoned those that resisted...we were...ambushed...he laughed maniacally the whole time...I remember that laugh all too well...oof...I was the...only one that escaped...I must...free them..."

Conkeldurr tries to stand again, only to once more fall to one knee, exhausted from losing the battle.

Σ(°△°|||) Hearing THAT from Conkeldurr, Kee's suddenly getting a bad feeling. A VERY BAD feeling, a feeling that...the Darkness(!!!) could have something to do with this. But... why? And moreso, HOW??

He puts a paw of his on Conkeldurr's knee in an attempt to show compassion and insight. "That doesn't sound AT ALL like the Machamp I've gotten t'know. Sounds t'me like...like somethin' FOUL's at play here. Humm... Now listen, ya're nat in any shape nor form now t'free yar people. That's to a d'gree our fault, so how 'bout ya tell us where this Hidden Mine's located and WE'll go save 'em? To both make up t'wards ya AND cuz that's what feels like tha right thing t'do."

Kogeki just approach Conkeldurr and give the big Pokemon a slap in his face. Not enough to make him faint, but enough to call his attention.

"First: Stop trying to act strong and try to standing up. You can barely move, let alone fight against Machamp."

"Second: Stop being a prideful fool. If you want to save the others workers, them just ask our help. Your team loose. And we win. If you don't believe us, well, screw you."

"Third: We members of a guild. Rescue Pokemon is part of the job. As much I hate the Guild, I will not let such person such that Machamp going around here, trapping innocent people. I will do my best to rescue your friends and make that Machamp answer justice with my blade. I can't promise the same in the name of the rest of my team."

"Like my friend ask, where is that Hidden Mine?"

The moment Pyra raises her claw Daxter surges forward and stands between her and the Conkeldurr. "Have you lost your mind!? I'm not about to let you beat an already beaten enemy! Put your hand down, right now or so help me! Look at them. Did they look like they wanted to kill us? They just wanted us to leave. We were the ones who stayed and kept pestering them! Look, Conkeldurr, I'm not gonna kill you. I won't let her do it either. Let's sit and talk. No need for hostilities. And stay back, Pyra. You don't need to make this situation any worse. Remember what I said about tempering those urges yesterday? Now's a good time to try that."

That very movement unbalances the fiery demoness somewhat, causing her to take a backstep away from Dax at his sudden intervention and harsh chastisement. Her expressoin soon turned to exasperation as he went on and on, looking at him like he was the one taking nonsense and acting like a fool.

"No, nay, I have not, Daxter. Simply fulfilling their idoitic desires, their unwise wish to stand against us until the bitter end, and exact retribution for their deliber-xact and prejudiced attack on us, yes. Doesn't matter their reason, their urges, they still choose to try and hurt us badly, so they have earned and deserve my and our wrath.  Why are you getting so incensed, so up in arms and violently against what we, Conk and me, want so dearly? Why do you care so much you would turn against me, your companion, to defend and protect them? Why?!"

And no, Pyra would not take a step back, nor lower her arm. Before she wanted to exact revenge and payback against the Conk Squad, but now she has the additional reason of just not immediately cave into what she perceives to be nonsensical demands. Normally she'd give in to her friends, but right now she was not in the mood to do so, and was in fact getting a little upset over their behavior. What was their problem with her, to be so insistently and persistently against whatever she wanted to do?!

Quote:Towards Pyra:

She too gets a headshake from the smol crittercoon, his gaze fixating her too - it's much less of a piercing stare however, and much more of a pleading and asking one. "Dontcha grant 'em 'thy wishes' there, my dear. Please? If ya'll do so, there'll be goin' the chance t'further understand this messy s'tuation an' form an opinion on who's right an' who's nat. Ya see, I kinda WISH t'learn moar, why they wanted us t'leave and stuff." He doesn't take an action to stop her like Daxter does, feeling that his gaze and words will (hopefully) do the trick. If it doesn't, well, then he might take an action to express he's meaning it.

The black 'n white crittercoon's entreating request is received much better, her frustration and confusion dampening somewhat at the look he was giving her. Never the less....

"......For now, at this time, I'll abide by your request, Ziggy Kee. Get and obtain the information you seek, indeed, their reason for their unjust hostility and attack on us. Then, once you, my friends, have finished thusly, then I'll finally grant their wishes. No good reason-want to stop me from doing as is justly[/i] deserved, so I shall do what [b]must be done."

....Welp, it's a compromise, but it's likely not going to fly with at least Dax, and possibly Marcus/Kee/Karen.

Oh, and she was NOT too please with Kee's decision to try and give their Oran Berry to Forrestress, attempting to stop them (if its possible, Dragonstrike) with a unimpressed look and simply saying : "Healing Items, such valuable life savers and preservators, are for us, not our enemies. Please, I ask, do not so foolishly waste it on them, give them strength to possibly continue to Fight back against us."

(As a Player, I'm also against the use of Oran on enemies, because those cost us Poke/the Team a Healing Item AND shouldn't be wasted on foes that are not likely to become our allies or a part of the team. It's just not worthwhile and wise to do so, me thinks.)

Conk's revelation does give her a brief pause of though, but it doesn't phase her for long nor does it change her mind/feelings about him and his friends. She has all the reason not to care or sympathize with him and his plight, and she doesn't really see what the problem was with Machamp's actions (though she knows it horrifies her friends for some reason). If the burly body builder has to power to make other Pokemon to do as he wished, then that was that so long as he didn't try to exercise it on her and her beloved companions, right?

Karen and Marcus both stand between Pyra and and the two wild pokemon now, though for differing reasons.  Pyra would have to go through both of them (and presumably Kee) to even have a chance of stopping the Forretress from consuming the Oran Berry.

Karen can't believe what she's hearing and feeling right now.

"...but...but Conkeldurr was just doing what he thought was right, Pyra!  We don't have to fight him any more!"

Marcus just looks...deeply serious after the recent revelations.

"Pyra, I think we have bigger problems than Conkeldurr right nowIf Machamp is actually deceiving everyone, then everyone that's done business with him recently has probably been duped.  And what Conkeldurr said about his behavior...I'm worried that means something's happened to him.  I'll tell you more later, though.  Right now, please stand down.  If you attack him and his crew, I don't think it will end well for any of us."

Karen's silent for a long while as she nervously waits for Pyra's response...

Meanwhile, Conkeldurr is unimpressed by Kogeki's attempt to snap him out of...whatever Kogeki is trying to snap him out of, and he just glares back at the Riolu.  "...just because you...have beaten me, that...does not...mean you have earned...my respect, small arms.  Back.  Off."

Conkeldurr is much kinder with Kee and starts trying to ignore Kogeki.  Forretress begins trying to shoo Kogeki off and create a little space between him and Conkeldurr.  Forretress is not trying to attack Kogeki right now, however, just nudge him out of Conkeldurr's way (how gently/forcefully depends on how willing Kogeki is to comply with that command from Conk).

"...the Hidden Mine...is a little deeper in...there's a stairway up ahead...around the bend.  That will take you there...I do not wish to ask you to put yourselves in danger...but if you can save them...please..."

Marcus turns his attention back to Conkeldurr.  "And that's where Machamp is, right?"

"Yes.  Machamp and all the...goons he brought with him."

"Good.  This isn't how I imagined my little request would go, but meeting Machamp and figuring out what's going on was my main goal anyways.  Seems wise to prepare for a possible confrontation as well now, though."

"If you say so Conk."

Since Forrestress is trying to shoo Kogeki, he will give him space indeed. He approached the other fainted members of Conk team he and Forrestress was talking with Kee and the others.

Well, it's not like they could do anything against it. But better do in a way they not say anything against them.

"Well, I let you do the talk way Kee. I will check if your team have serious injuries Conk and Forrestress."

Action: Make look Kogeki is treating the Pokemon injuries but instead stealth syphon some Aura Draining meal. Not enough to kill, but enough to gain some energy.

First of all, I'm going to roll a deception check for Kogeki to see if Conkeldurr believes what Kogeki claims he is going to do.

Kogeki's Deception
Logic + Smart + Contest + Perform
(4)(5)(4) 3 successes

Conkeldurr's Alert
Insight + Survival + Alert
(3)(1)(2) 0 successes

Forretress is watching Kogeki very, very carefully, and Conkeldurr is a little skeptical of Kogeki's statement, but he seems to buy it.

"...fine.  Check that they are not seriously hurt...heal them if they are...and then back off.  I do not want you...lingering around us."

Just out of interest, does this change what Kogeki is doing or how he's doing it in any way?

Thinking better...I will just check if they're companions is okay and not serious injured. I not in mood in taking these Pokemon Auras.

In which case...

Medicine Check
1 Insight + 0 Knowledge + 0 Medicine
(2) 0 successes

Kogeki's not an individual trained in medicine, so he can't really tell if any of the fainted pokemon are more badly hurt than they appear to be.  It doesn't take a professional medical practitioner to tell that they are unconscious but breathing, however.

Karen walks over to help Kogeki when she gets a spare moment.  "Here, let me help.  I don't think they're hurt very badly, but you're right that checking probably wouldn't be a bad thing."

(5)(5) 2 successes

"I don't think they're badly hurt.  As far as I can tell, it's just bruises.  Combusken definitely looks the worst after taking that hit from Marcus, but I think they should heal with a little rest."
