"I think you're directing your ire at the wrong pokemon there, Kogeki. I don't think the guildmaster is aware of all of Team Artificer's activities. She's strict, but she's fair, and she's certainly not dumb. Team Artificers might have a habit of prioritizing their own agendas, but they're crafty. They know when they can and can't get away with bending the rules."
"Yes, I think it's fairly likely we'll be facing a Primal pokemon soon. Feral pokemon can be taught reason, as recruiting wild pokemon into the guild often shows, but it's usually quite a bit harder to defeat Primals than the average wild pokemon. We should be ready for a difficult fight."
"Doesn't matter. If you tell her what you know and she still keep those guys run free doing whatever they want, she is guilt as they are. If not not worse. You tell her what you see and know? And if you did that and she keep doing then she is not fair. She is a great a fool. And she let this happen. I still hate that Guildmaster, but for my party safety to keep a while to not let those Artificer bastards do anything to then guess I have no choice but stay in that place that I hate most."
"Its not like we have a choice in the matte. We will beat him and thats it. Mission complete and then return to the Guild."

Once Marcus begun his tale of his past woe with Team Artificer, and how it all shaped him to be the Pokemon he was to this day, Pyra listened with rapt attention at first, hanging off each and every one of his words. Then, as he got into the details of his story, the brimstone imp's interest became less and less eager and energetic, and far more thoughtful and pondering, her smile smoothing out to the point of being nearly invisible. By the end, she was just......staring at him, part way comprehending him yet somehow lost by what he was trying and meaning to teach the group.
Throughout the entire story, however, not once did she display any sign of care, compassion, or true empathy for the bones craftsmon past plight.
Because she didn't have ANY of such feelings for them, despite of them practically pouring their heart out to everyone.
Or rather, perhaps in spite of it.
Pyra......she honestly didn't get what and why Marcus had problems with Team Artificer's state goal and methods, beyond them seemingly screwing him over in the end. Seemingly, because it was him that decided he no longer could tolerate them for some reason and abandoned the Team that gave him reason a purpose in Life over what appeared to be a slightly baffling divide in opinion and ideology. She could sorta understand why he'd be mad and bitter about his former teammates breaking his prized possession, as she would be rather miffed if somebody stole or vandalized her or her friends Items, but she just could not get why he had such an extreme reaction as he did over it. They must have had a good reason to do what they did, if they were to do such a thing, right? Even if they didn't, you were supposed to forgive, accept, and love your teammates that gave your purpose, and support them no matter what. That, and why he suddenly and inexplicably started to feel SOMETHING for that Galvantula, and how that apparently further spurred him onto to feel animosity towards his former Team and cut ties with them + the Guild.
To her, the Cubone ultimately brought almost everything negative about his departure from Team Artificer upon himself for his nearly nonsensical and abrupt 'change of heart' (if that is the right term....) , making himself an enemy and pariah of his ex-teammates and The Guild , burning his bridges and forcing him to start from scratch. All because he could no longer agree with his Team's methodology and ideals for. Some. Reason.
And now, due her group being associated with him due to their chance meeting, they were being dragged into that mess of his own making. They suffered, were suffering, and perhaps would continue to suffer from his choices and the stigma it brought him from Team Artificer, should anything be done not to correct this problem non explosively or resentfully. And, given what she understood and learned about her beloved friends, and what she just seen from Kogeki's impassioned outburst and pledge, almost assuredly primed them to cause conflict and cause friction with the Team and others like them for the unforeseeable future and mire them further in there baffling and dangerous 'ideas' they had about Non Team Members/Close Friends to Team.
For absolutely no good reason whatsoever, save for gratitude for the guidance he gave and the favor they owed him still. No good reason at all, save that he thought it was the right and correct thing to do, and tried to get everyone on board with his line of.....anti-logic.
Upon realizing and drawing that conclusion was when Pyra stopped smiling and started starting at him, thinking hard about WHAT he was trying (and to her, failing) to teach them and get some sense of understanding out of it all. Because at that point she was getting very frustrated with him and his own brand of moralization, and she didn't want to do anything too sudden, least she fully set off her friends and Confuse them all over this and her recent spats with them. She had enough of that, thank you very much.
From what she had gathered, she could only come up with three 'good' things : He wanted to protect and safeguard her group in some way by sharing this story and his own Insights on it, he want to paint and tar Team Artificer and those like them as 'bad' and pull them away from being/doing anything like them, and he simply and honestly felt that he was doing good by her and her friends by sharing his personal story.
She hardly to begin to comprehend what sort of good he was trying to do by them beyond self interest and further reinforcing his own 'ideas' or rightness, so she didn't dwell on that reason for very long.
Team Artificer's methods, overall attitude, and goals didn't strike her as bad - in fact, she actually found it all to be entirely sensible and logical, if not good in its own way - and such thinking could probably benefit herself and the Team in their quest ahead to defeat The Darkness. If not, then T.A. certainly could've been ignored and the group could do things their own way without any meddlesome influence trying to unduly shake things up. So that reason was put to bed with the other.
No, the only reason that made any sense to her and the conclusions she had drawn was the first one: Marcus was trying to protect and guide the group to what he though of was the best and most good way possible. To not let them suffer his fate, and become in some way 'better' by emulating his 'ideas' and making almost everyone further doubling down on the nonsense idea-feelings for Non Friends.
If that was the case (and it most likely was), he was not doing a very good job of it in the she demon's opinion. His and such thinking would only serve to cause more harm than good outside of needless reinforcement of a good public image/relations with Non-Hostile Non-Friends for her cherished companions, and she could already see the signs of such plaguing the group.
She realized that such harm was mainly due to her thoughts-ideas-thinking clashing with nearly everyone else (save Kogeki, and occasionally Kee). Had realized it for quite some time, even if she never fully actualized it as a full thought until now. If she just accepted such and similar thinking and made it her own, even only outwardly and superficially, then she imagines a LOT of the problems she's been having would go away.
It was such a simple solution. It would be so easy.
A simple, easy solution she wouldn't take. Not because she thought it to be wrong, but because she could not and would not support anything she couldn't gain some full understanding from UNLESS it was one of her friends OR if it would end up causing harm/harmful problems for everyone she cared about. To do so would be foolishly blind, something she refused to be of her own conscious volition. She could hardly understand half of what Marcus was trying to convey to the group, and what parts she thought she did were either things she entirely disagreed with or found to be flawed, biased, and needlessly provocatory, so she wouldn't do it. No matter how much problems it would solve between her and the group, no matter what it would cost her.
That was that.
When Pyra finally processed and fully gathered her thoughts and opinions, her face hardened in twin with her resolve, and she looked poised to share her findings with her friends and Marcus.
But she didn't. Because as she did so, she first looked at everyone first. Dax, angry, frustrated, and thoroughly fed up and in a state of agitated distress. Kogeki, wrathful yet newly resolved to fight back against what he perceived to be unjust and foul, to stay with the group and in the Guild he loathed to do so. Karen, quiet, meek, and sweet, yet also tense and sympathetic to what had been told, and always so worried, afraid, and disappointed in her own 'failings' . Kee, that lovable rouge....who knew what he was thinking, which way he'd end up blowing in the wind? And Marcus, misguided, foolish, and potentially a grave detriment to her team, yet he seemed so earnest and sincere in his desire to help and nurture the group, despite having no good or sensible reason to do so.
Pyra looked at them all....and she just deflated. She frowned, a mixture of frustration, abject misery, and a sort of understanding screwing her features, before she looked away from everyone and decided to keep quiet for the time being.
She knew what she thought-believed was important, and that it must be shared with everyone to enlighten them of the bigger picture.....but she also knew that most would not like or accept it. It would only cause trouble, further division between herself and the rest, and set herself that much farther apart from her beloved friends. That, and though she was not pleased with Marcus with his story or his own choices therein and thereof, she didn't want to crush his spirits or make a enemy out of him. Because, misguide and incomprehensible as it may be, he just wants to help her and everyone in his own way. She couldn't fault that pure intention, even if she could find one for nearly everything else.
For now, until such a thing no longer had to be.....ignorance would be bliss, for her treasured friends and Marcus, no matter how much it ate her up so bitterly.
While Kogeki was occupied having his own blood boiling with the most heated wrath ever boiled, he had a moment to see Pyra own react towards everything said from both Marcus and Kogeki himself. He can imagined just a bit what is passing though her head.
Kogeki and Pyra even with a few days, have a few things in similar. Both have a more gray shade type of personality. Both of them have some actions and decisions who sometimes clash with the decisions of the group. And sometimes they are judge because of it, despite the loyalty they show to the group. In certain areas they very alike in many areas. And among them, Kogeki feel more connected to Pyra in terms of friendship because of it.
Thats why he decided to see if he can help her in whatever problem she is having. "...Excuse me. I think I will explore a bit this rest room. I need some time to think a few things..." Kogeki approach Pyra. And sit beside her side, respecting her silence and not saying anything, but showing he is for her in that moment like a friend. "We...can talk later if you want. I will always be here if you ever want to talk. Thats what friends are for." Thats the only words he silent tell her those words only she and him can hear.

As he listens to Marcus's story, Daxter's scowl slowly fades away. He figured that Marcus was probably once a member of the guild, but he had no idea that he was actually a member of the Artificers. He hesitates, and then slowly speaks. "I'm... Sorry you had to go through that, mate. And that I compared Kogeki to those guys. Guess that was a little uncalled for. Didn't know that you were in their team, though. Watching that happen must have been awful.
As for all that Primal stuff, I have no idea what any of that means. From what it sounds though, I'm guessing they just get beefed up and pissed off, right? Angry and hard to beat. Is there any way to snap those Pokemon out of it? I'm not down with putting anyone down without giving them a second chance. Especially if what happened to them might not be their fault. To be honest, I'm not down with putting anyone down at all! Everyone deserves the chance to make up for anything they do."
Kogeki's anger at the guildmaster's apparent apathy makes Daxter wince. "I don't think it's that simple, mate. If these Artificer guys are that smart, they would have been doing these things in ways that don't leave any evidence. When we spoke to her, she seemed like a fucking clever lady, so I think that she knows exactly what those assholes are up to. I just think that she doesn't have the proof to actually kick them out. She's a little uptight to be sure, but I don't think that she would let them do whatever they want. Just the fact that they have to be sneaky about what they do tells me that she wouldn't be on board if she knew. I like her. I don't think she was rude to us. I don't think that anyone was, in all honesty. It's a different place, and I guess society works differently here. You have to earn respect, and we didn't earn much so far. Sure, we beat up a Boldore and bought in one criminal, but I think that it'll take a while before people start actually seeing us as Pokemon to be respected. I know it feels like ages since we-
OW! This fucking jaw!
Sorry about that mate. I've got a sore tooth or something. What I was saying is, I know it feels like ages since we got here, but it's really only been a couple of days. You'll see. If we keep doing good work, we'll eventually get treated much more nicely. And just keep something in mind. Team Artificers doesn't represent the whole guild. There have been some actually nice Pokemon around. That Staravia and his flock are apparently nice. Floette's been pretty nice. And I'm sure you guys met a few others who aren't that bad either. Team Artificers will get what's coming to them at some point but until then, just keep an open mind."
Daxter then pauses and hesitates once again. He turns to Pyra, rubbing his cheek as he stares at her for a little. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have behaved like that. I just don't want to see anyone get hurt. Doesn't matter if it's us or them. Conkeldurr wasn't thinking straight when he told you to finish him off, and I wasn't either. I just couldn't get why you didn't get why Conkeldurr was being an idiot. Let's just move past that, and I'll try and be a little more gentle the next time I tell you off. Can't promise it won't happen again, but I'll definitely try to make sure that I don't end up threatening you."

Ziggy Kee curls up into a fuzzy black-and-white furball as he sits there and listens to what dear Marcus has and wants to share. He's got his eyes closed and breathes calmly as if he's sleeping, but in fact he's 'only' resting and concentrating on what's told: It's indicated by an occassional change in expression on the crittercoon's expression; like frowning at 'they seemed to be getting orders from someone else...' or his fur bristling at the description of that Galvantula having gone Primal due to Chimical pushing it.
Once the craftsman of a Cubone has finished and lingers in that depressed state, Kee uncurls, stretches himself, zigzags over to Marcus - then gently nudges him with his nose and licks over his cheek just faintly. Kee looks at him compassionately with his deep-red eyes, then looks down. "My, that's surely a story of yars. I'm... sorreh ya've had to go through such a mess." He looks away. "NOW I 'nderstand why ya're not very eager t'talk 'bout anythin' 'nvolving Delphox's Guild, or why ya're nat at very good trerms with those of Team Artificers. Thanks for 'xplainin' that aspect." Aaand he nudges Marcus once more, this time with an affectionate headbutt, all to show that Kee CARES. He couldn't care less that his lick-over-the-cheek can be considered a peck on the cheek, and that it's from male to male. Neither as a human, and even less so as a Pokemon!~
Kee then huffs a bit, shakes his furry head. "What Team Artificers's done 's kinda 'nforgivable, BOTH t'ya an' that electric spider, that's true. Hurtin' others for tha better of all Pokemon's kinda doesn't sound nor feel right t'me.... But it's nat in mah book to judge 'em. If they're smart 'nough to be a r'spected Team at the Guild, they're cert'nly smart 'nough t'know what they're doin' an' face tha consequences of their actions." Looks like Kee will remain neutral yet cautious towards them. "Totally 'nderstandable ya didn't wanna have anythin' t'do with 'em anymore." Another gentle headbutt.
"Seein' a lil' of ya 'n all of us, ya say...?" At these words, Kee's expression lights up and he can't help but to smile meekly and sweetly!~ "Dat's a lovely thing t'say, and it's sweet of ya t'save use from repeatin' bit of yar history ❤. And ya know, I WILL keep yar words in mind, an' DO take care who t'trust." ( ÒωÓ)و☆ Kee looks down again, deflatens a little, and his voice becomes more sad and quiet. "Yeah I will, I will 'ndeed. Can't r'member the details of it just yet, but some, well, misfortunes in mah human life did a fine job t'teach me that trust can turn back at ya t'HURT ya quite badly." For a few moments Kee just dwells in some foggy memories of his human self, but he quickly stops as some sharp PAIN assaults his heart.
Instead he turns towards Marcus and the others again, this time with a smile again. " But I DO know that I trust y'all people!☆ Includin' you, Marcus, yes!!1 Am just....freakin' GLAD that I'm nat alone." And he proceeds to give everyone a gentle nudge and peck on the cheek as well: To Pyra that erratic she-demoness, to Karen that meek psychic fae, to Kogeki that deltadoggo of a ninja, to Dax the waterly Charmander. Marcus already had his share. Yay for Kee expressing affection and care!~ ❤ "D'spite our...d'fferences, we're still a Team an' do b'long t'gehther, now don't we?~"

Pyra managed a faint smile for the spiritual ninja's comforting words, and she looked up at him briefly and gave a nod before she withdrew into herself again. Her mood was still fairly abysmal, as it'd take some time (or a monumental amount of effort) before she could come to grips with her recent revelation and decision and recover, but they could tell the she demon greatly appreciated Kogeki's concern. Nice to see her faith in him being him was still holding true, too.

Though out of it (putting it politely), the brimstone imp was still paying attention to the discussion at hand, catching what everyone else had to say on the subject of Marcus and Team Artificer's shared history. No matter how it made her feel, regardless of what opinion she might hold over it, it was still valuable information to be had (even if she could hardly understand it herself fully), and gave her more Insights into her friends Self to work with and decipher.
Dax's own apology for his 'insult' was not something she could get (as she didn't find anything wrong with the comparison made, or even cared all that much about it in the first place at the time), but she WAS happy to see him no longer as upset with the dread jackel now. Anything more 'said' on their thoughts has already been covered amply, so let's move on!
Pyra could only shake her head to herself at his impassioned and (in her opinion) misguided/foolishly undeserved unqualified and all encompassing mercy for others, but again she refrains from saying anything about it. He was already mad at her for reasons over recent events, and given their conversations over similar topics she strongly believes arguing with him about this won't end well at all.
The stuff about Delphox is more or less ignored: she didn't care too much for the Guild Master beyond not incurring their wrath/displeasure , and that included having little to no interest in their intelligence, Leadership abilities/history, or as a Pokemon herself. It's not like the group or herself can make direct use of the sage fox talents/Skills given how prickly they were, especially at their current standing in the Guild, so why bother investing anything into them beyond what was expected as their subordinates/Guild Members?
Similarly, she doesn't really care about the Guild itself, its' professed goals, or the general membership. She only joined because her friends ended up wanting to, and was content to follow along to their beat as she continued to love, care, and serve them to the best of her abilities. That was that. The only members she could say she had any feeling beyond polite nicities or desire for their works would be Blitzle and the Guild Master's daughter, but with the former it was only faint interest and respect at best and the later she just plain feared because of her familial connections.
Dax's apology to her comes as a complete surprise, prompting her to jerk her head at up in shock and stare at him in half timid, half disquieted regard. Then, slowly, she let out a small *sigh* and gave him wane yet tender smile, now looking at him with a certain fondness that was both hard to place and 'unhappy, yet accepting' .
"Nothing and null I have to forgive you for, Draconewt Dax. You simply acted within your Nature, followed your thought-beliefs Adamantly and unFlinchingly to reject what you can not accept yet, yes indeed. Up to me to adapt, work around, and plan for thus-more, to become better at caring and working with you beyond any conflict. After all, as I have said before, I do everything for you, our friends too, because it is right, it is just, and out of love.
"Still....thank you. Thank you very much."
As for his 'question' , she debates with herself over whether to give him her honest answer or not, and eventually settles on doing the former, looking unusually serious and taking care with her tone as she replied.
"Because I did not care about him or his allies, not one bit or in any way, yes. Before they barred our way, attacked us with intent most foul, and greatly so after they sealed and condemned themselves to a fate most deserving. Why should I, especially consider his attitude towards us, who had him at our tolerance and mercy? That, and furthermore, his desire was to be totally cowed before he would ever submit to us. No matter how foolish, no matter what place, what condition it comes from, a desire is a desire, a Wish is a Wish. It is one of my duties to fulfil all such if I can....for the right deal and price. And Mightless Conkeldurr more than earned his Wish come true, yes yes yes."
(And that is all Pyra has to say or do for now about. If anyone else wants to talk with her about this, feel free to, but for now she's 'content' to sit out of the remainder of the discussion and think until its time for the group to move on.)

Kogeki hpmft in irritation. "Its not like I have a choice in the matter. I still dispises the Guildmaster and her weakness and lack of initiative but I think I will have to tolerate her and the Guild for the time being. After what I hear from Marcus story that bastards will try to buy a fight with us in the future. But if they hurt any of you..." Kogeki take away his kunai sword. "They will feel the sting of my blade while I drain their Auras."
After such ominous words he back up again his kunai blade. "Earn respect I can understand. But consciounous Pokemon attack us in the sight right away its to much! And we receive such cold and rude treatment from many Pokemon is also frustrating. Yeah there is a few Pokemon who is nice, but the more I see is unworth. Condelkurr included. I do not easily forgive. Thats is that."
"But I agree with you. We will get stronger and give those bastards what they deserve. With the most paintful way possible."

Instead he turns towards Marcus and the others again, this time with a smile again. "But I DO know that I trust y'all people!☆ Includin' you, Marcus, yes!!1 Am just....freakin' GLAD that I'm nat alone." And he proceeds to give everyone a gentle nudge and peck on the cheek as well: To Pyra that erratic she-demoness, to Karen that meek psychic fae, to Kogeki that deltadoggo of a ninja, to Dax the waterly Charmander. Marcus already had his share. Yay for Kee expressing affection and care!~❤ "D'spite our...d'fferences, we're still a Team an' do b'long t'gehther, now don't we?~"
Kogeki was naugh off guard for such way Kee demonstrate care and affection to everyone, including Kogeki. He was a little silent for a few seconds and then he spoke again. "Yeah. I do not fully agree with most people methods, but I do make a oath to stay in the group and protect them. And a ninja always try to keep its word. You say anything about me, but a dishonor person its not one of them."

To that vehemantive vow, Pyra's frown deepens as she once more looks up at Kogeki, this time in disapproval and..... worry.
"....Do not want to make enemies and adversaries of Team Artificer or anyone, phantom brave Kogeki. Prefer we ignore them, let them be and no let them unduly bother us as we train and preform our duties, yes. Focus on what we must do and on what matters, not on what others and beyond hold sacred and true, least we be distracted, waylayed, or imperiled on our chosen paths, yes. Let them or other outsiders not bother us, no, unless they force themselves to be a nuisance or problem. Understand me, my dear friend?"
She chooses to refrain about sharing her opinions on Team Artificer beyond that, for previously alluded to reasons.

Kogeki look at her for a few seconds...and then he sigh. "...Yes. I understand. I deep hate what they done. But I know we must gain strengh and power. I now found a reason to stay: To protect our group against Team Artificer machinations."
Lets just rest a bit here and recover our strengh a bit. We still have to beat Machamp. I just hope Condelkurr give us a really REALLY fat reward after this job. Because after the trouble that clown and his gang did to us, this is the least they own us."

"Don't go getting yourselves in trouble over this now, alright? It's really not worth it if you ask me, particularly if it can end up making you look like the bad guys. Keep in mind that not every problem is black and white in their causes and effects. I don't know what Team Artificers is really up to and why, but I know I want nothing to do with it if it means we have to harm other pokemon, even if it is supposedly for the 'greater good'. Galvantula survived, but I later heard that they entirely lost the ability to use Electric attacks and went into hiding shortly after. I doubt that Sahra Town would think of me very favorably if they were to learn I was involved in that mess...honestly, it's rather fortunate that Team Artificers hasn't tried to stain my reputation yet for leaving the Guild..."

"...well, it's honestly a bit of a relief to get that off my chest. Just don't go spreading the word about any of it. That's all I really had to say on the matter, but to be honest, there's something I want to ask you before we move on..."

"...you, uh...mentioned there was another friend with you earlier, right Daxter? What did you mean by that?"
