[Game Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows
Kee directs everyone to dip into the side tunnel to try and hide, the approaching sound getting louder all the while.  Hoopa follows grudgingly.

*chachunk chachunk chachunk chachunk*

Kee readies the Gravelerock to throw as soon as the target comes into view...

...but Hoopa suddenly appears out of a portal in the middle of the corridor right as the wild pokemon (one larger, 4 smaller, all rolling on the rails) arrive and come to a screeching halt on the tracks.  Rather than describe them further, I'll just drop some pictures here.

"Oh, so you're the ones making all that racket!  Well, so sorry, but my new friends and I are going to have to KO you now to further our combat experience!~  Hehehehehe!"

"What?!  Intruders in our mine?!  Rolycoly, roll out, and find and remove the threats!  The annoying one's mine! Do not let them steal our coal!"

"Yes, Carkol sir!  Alright, everyone, you heard the boss!  Let's get searchin'!"

Stealth: (5)(2)(4) 2 successes
Alert: (4)(6)(1)(1) 1 success

Seeing that the dim lighting from the hot coals on Carkol's back(?) is slightly illuminating the corridor where everyone is hiding, Kee strikes first, throwing his Gravelerock at the leader before the Rolycoly notice where they are!

Gravelerock Ambush
(5)(6)(6)(3)
(4)(2) Carkol takes 1 damage 5/6 HP

"Gah!  Over there!  Get them!"

On Rails Initiatives
Hoopa: (6) + 4 = 10
Kogeki: (6) + 3 = 9
Rolycoly A & B: (6) + 3 = 9
Pyra: (6) + 2 = 8
Karen: (6) + 2 = 8
Rolycoly C & D: (5) + 3 = 8
Daxter: (3) + 4 = 7
Marcus: (4) + 3 = 7
Carkol: (2) + 4 = 6
Kee: (1) + 4 = 5

The four Rolycoly are currently blocking the entrance to the side tunnel.  At least one of them will need to be KOed and/or moved before Carkol can be attacked by characters other than Hoopa.

The ever-energetic demoness smile lessened at Kee's directive, almost to the pout of her starting to pout, but never the less she followed through with it, giving him a firm nod before getting into position. She didn't agree with his caution, but he was her Leader and (much more importantly) one of her beloved friends, and so she'd faithfully do as he requested. If nothing else, his concerns and methods were maximizing the group's safety, which is something she could ALWAYS get behind!

Upon contact with the enemy (Whose appearance got a befuddled look out of her for a second), and them so helpfully and unambiguously announcing their lack of social grace and diplomacy, Pyra's expression morphed into one of savage delight. Oh goodie, some more foolish Pokemon she can punish and vent her grievances on! Sweeping her eyes around everyone and judging their reaction times, the brimstone quickly formulated a plan of action and promptly shared it with her friends.

"Big Coalmon blocked by it's Lump Coal Minions. Need to take one out to get to him. *Points at Rolycoly C* That one looks sluggish and dull, so everyone group out and get it out of the way, so that Marcus and Dax can help Hoopa extinguish Big Coalmon, oh please."

And without further delay Pyra launched herself forward at the specified Rolycoly, mouth stretched wide open in a most disturbing grin!

Order: Single Action Bite on Rolycoly C, enough said!

At Hoopa's sudden and direct confrontation of the approaching wild Mon (and simultaneously, of them not listening to him [Kee] at all ), Kee can only facepalm (-‸ლ) from the hiding spot he directed them all to. On one hand he...liked their displayed bravery and confident fearlessness; on the other hand it put a sour taste into his mouth as Hoopa, well, blatantly ignored the current Leader's words. Oh well, he just HOPES that the djinn's eccentricity won't bring them all into massive trouble that could have prevented...!

Either way, things worked out regardless and he managed to hit these minelurkers with a Gravelerrock anyway, so he'll be turning a blind eye on Hoopa's actions this time. The sight of the unfamiliar Pokemon makes Kee frown and staaaare at them for a moment however. "Huh, aren't ya some 'nteresting Mon we met - quite rocky and firely-lookin'!~" He huffs. "Nat here t'steal 'yar coal nor did I see ya'r name written it, but if ya WANT to fight, ya will GET a fight, hehehe!!~" ( ÒωÓ)و☆"C'mon y'all, we got that! Me's gonna keep yar backs free!!"

Orders for this Round:
In case any of the Rolycoly uses an attack that will deal SE damage on the aimed target OR Carkoal uses Flame Charge at any of us, Kee will clash that action by giving them a good scare via shouting at them with emphasis and power.

Accuracy Roll Snarl Clash: 2 Special + 2 Fight + 2*Clash fro the Solar Battery + 2 Single Action Bonus = 8d6

Conditional Orders:
If Kee hasn't done anything by the time it's his turn, he will instead shout at the two most weakened foes aka those that are sitting at 2 or - even better - 1HP to aim for KOing them.

Accuracy Roll Snarl: 2 Dext + 2 Fight + 0 Channel - 1 Inaccuracy + 2 Single Action Bonus = 5d6
Damage Roll: 2 Special + 2 Power + STAB = 5d6 as well
Additional notes: Will hit two foes. Soundbased, will autolower the target's Special by 1 each.
We're in a dark mine, so the Solar batterly will likely not grant the +1 Special Bonus.

"Damn you Hoopa!" Kogeki said annoyed with the thing Hoopa did, but he didnt have time to think a lot about what to do. He just focus in do what he do best: Deliver justice against his enemies. He grab his kunai and get close to one of the Rolycoly and punch them until they nothing smoke!

Actions: Bite and Shadow Punch on Rolycoly C! If by chance Rolycoly C faint, Shadow Punch will be deliver to Rolycoly D. If Rolycoly C and D get fainted before Shadow Punch, then I will use Shadow Punch on Rolycoly A or B (whatever have the less HP).

On Rails Round 1

"Oh, whoops.  Guess I didn't account for the adds, but that's fine!  Watch this!"

Hoopa takes one of the rings off of their horns and throws it underneath itself!

??? 1
(4)(1)(1)(3)

...only for it to clatter to the ground with no effect whatsoever.

"Dang it!  That should have worked!  Stupid power sealing effects..."

A much more frantic scene occurs at the entrance to the corridor as Team OS and the Rolycoly throw themselves at each other.

Bite 1 (Kogeki) on C
(6)(4)(2)(2)
(6)(3) Rolycoly C takes 1 damage 4/5 HP
(4)

Two of the Rolycoly aim their first attacks at Pyra.

Smack Down A and B
1 Dex + 2 Fight + 1 Channel + 2 Single Action = 6d6
(6)(4)(2)(5)(2)(2) 3 successes
(4)(1)(1)(6)(3)(6) 2 successes

And Kee tries to yell loud enough to interfere with their trajectories!

Snarl Clash
(5)(4)(3)(2)(4)(5)(1)(6) 5 successes
Kee's Special powered yelling knocks the stones off course (and into him instead)! Kee takes 2 damage 2/4 HP -2 Pain
Both Rolycoly A and B cringe due to the sheer volume of the attack. Rolycoly A and B take 1 damage 4/5 HP

Pyra does her usual lunge at whatever's in front of her!

Bite (Pyra) on C
(6)(6)(3)(5)(2)(6)(2)(5) Critical hit!
(6)(5)(2) | (3)(1) Rolycoly C takes 2 damage 2/5 HP -2 Pain
(6)(6)(1) Rolycoly C Flinches!

As Pyra tears into Rolycoly C with her fangs, they seem to falter for just a little more than an instant...

Flinch C
C's Will: 4 Will - 2 Pain
(5)(5) 2 successes

Carkol glares at them, though, and they shudder even more visibly.

None of the other Rolycoly seem to think that's unusual, and keep on attacking as ordered.

Karen attacks the same Rolycoly that Kee did!

Disarming Voice
(3)(1)(2)(4)(3)(6)
(6)(2)(3) Rolycoly A and B take 1 damage 3/5 HP -1 Pain

The Rolycoly seem to know their type advantages, because D is attacking Daxter with yet another rock!

Smack Down D
1 Dex + 2 Fight + 1 Channel + 2 Single Action
(4)(2)(2)(4)(6)(6)
1 Strength + 2 Power + STAB - 2 Def = 2d6
(5)(1) Daxter takes 1 damage 4/5 HP

Daxter grits his teeth and tries to grin through both the pain of being attacked and his own strained jaw that's been limiting his conversation abilities.  Fortunately, he's still able to blow bubbles.

Bubble
(1)(1)(2)(2)(5)(5)(4)
(5)(6)(5)(2) Rolycoly A and B take 4 damage and faint!
Rolycoly D takes 4 damage! 1/5 HP -3 Pain
(-), (-), (5)

C's Will: (5)(5) 2 successes

Rolycoly C is incredibly startled when the others are devastated by that Bubble!  But yet again, Carkol glares at them, and they shudder in fear.

Rolycoly D, however, barely seems fazed by the attack, as now they're suddenly zooming around the corridor much, much faster, steam pouring out of the cracks in their rocky body!
Rolycoly D's Steam Engine triggers! +3 Dex!

"Okay, that's enough of that!  Take this!"  Marcus lunges at them to try and land a decisive blow!

Bone Club on D
(6)(5)(1)(4)(5)(3)
Rolycoly D takes at least 1 damage and faints!

C's Will: (5)(3) 1 success

The last of their comrades fainting finally breaks Rolycoly C, and they start to panic.  "Please don't hurt me!  I surrender!  I surrender!"

Carkol does not look pleased by these developments.

"You buffoons!  It's so hard to find reliable help these days...grrrrr..."

Steam begins rising from Carkol's body as well from sheer anger!
Carkol's Steam Engine Plot Device triggers! +3 Dex!

Hoopa barely manages to grab the other ring on his horns and use it to deflect some of the blow of the incoming charge from the incredibly mad Carkol!

Flame Charge 1
5* Dex + 2 Fight + 2 Brawl - 2 Actions
(6)(5)(2)(3)(1)(1)(2)
2* Strength + 2 Power + STAB - 2 Defense = 3d6
(5)(2)(1) Hoopa takes 1 damage! 4/5 HP
+1 Dex for Carkol

Carkol barrels past Hoopa at incredible speed, hurtling down the track faster than most of Team OS can react.  Hoopa barely has time to fire off an attack of its own in response.

Confusion 2
(5)(3)
(3)(3)
(4)

"Heeheehee!  It'll take more than that to hurt me!  Take thi...wait, that should have done something...dang it!!!  This stupid curse!!!  Aaaaaarrrrrggggghhhh!!"

Carkol continues hurdling down the tunnel that the party just came from, fleeing from the battle far faster than they can keep up with, and dropping more of that black coal behind it as it rolls away at high speed.  It seems unlikely they'll be coming back for the Rolycoly.

Victory!  ...sort of.  Everyone gets 6 exp.

We're not quite finished yet, though.  I have one question for @Spiritmon: does Kogeki continue attacking with Shadow Punch after Rolycoly C surrenders?

Kee hurdles after them right away, his teeth bared and a massively angry look on his furry face (but he does not leave the current tile but more so chases Carkoal until meeting the meta-border of the current tile). As that minecartmon eventually disappears into the darkness of the corridor, Kee ceases the chase, rears up and YELLS into the corridor in between some huffing and panting: "So mUcH fOr yA 'cuSSING of SteAliNg Yar COal!! EveN iF it'S yaR cOAL, woULD HaVE BEEn BetTER aN' nIceR T'HAVE ASKed WHAt we'Re DoIn' hErE 'nSteAd of goin' oFFensiVE RIGhT 'WAY! thEn i'D haVe hAd tHE cHAncE TO neGOtIAtE FOR A bIt OF YAR cOaL!!1!" (#`Д´)

His anger is fueling his voice, or more specifically the regulation of the volume of his voice. He gets +1 Channel for the earned 6XP.

His initial adrenaline and excitement of the battle fading bit by bit, he proceeds to pick up whatever coal Carkoal has dropped on their escape, carefully piling it all up before it diappears into his guitar bag. (Can I have GM's input here how many units of coal Kee can pick up? So far he's got 3.) He seems way more interested in doing that (or is simply too dsitracted by that?) than interacting with the Rolycoly that's been left behind. That, or it's the bad lighting in this tunnel that he can't properly make out the Rolycoly and what or what not the others choose to do with them.

And now...his gonna be the one to show the middle finger.

While Kee was distracted by doing something, Kogeki doesnt say any replies to Rolycoly. He appear right in Rolycoly face, and with one aimed Shadow Punch he hit Rolycoly face, hopeffuly finish off the last of the rock Pokemon.

Kogeki was silence for a few seconds and then tell everyone. "Lets take a look in these Rolycoly and see if we can find something useful. I will also take the opportunity to syphon some Auras. Been a while since I eat someone else Aura."

Action: Finish off Rolycoly with Shadow Punch. If he somehow survive I will use a no-lethal strike Kunai to finish the Pokemon. Also drain all Rolycolys auras.

Shadow Punch 2

(4)(2)(1) Rolycoly takes 1 damage! 1/5 HP -3 Pain

Kogeki's Shadow Punch doesn't quite KO Rolycoly C, and the wheeled rock cowers in fear as the Riolu and Devimp loom over them to deal a finishing blow.

"Pl-please...I-I didn't want to hurt any of you!  Honest!  C-carkol would have..w-would have p-punished me s-severely if I didn't follow his o-orders!"

Daxter rubs his jaw as he chooses his words carefully from behind Pyra and Kogeki.  "Ya know, maybe we could recruit them to our team?  I'm inclined to believe them, to be honest."

Rolycoly's single eye darts between both Kogeki and Pyra nervously as they continue to cower in the corner they've been backed into.

Carkol's dropped quite a bit of coal when he fled.  There's 5 loose usable units of it on the ground, but each one takes up a whole inventory space.  They're quite a bit bigger than a Geo Pebble or Gravelerock.

Pyra was.....unimpressed with Rolycoly's craven pleas for mercy (if that was what 'surrender' meant), to say the least, bearing a toothy grin at them that only contained the darkest mirth, while her gaze smoldered with displeasure. As a huge subscriber in 'My Team/Friends Will, Do or Die' mentality, the pummeled lump of coals last minute defection and trying to ingratiate themselves  with her friends was quite irksome in of itself. If she disagreed and disliked Marcus' reasons for deserting Team Artificer, she certainly wouldn't care for the insolent lump pulling the same stunt as he. And after and perhaps only because they and their comrades badly failed to unjustly assault the Team[/i]? Oh yes, the number one way of getting on her shitlist, and with that combined with their opportunistic/fearful betrayal compounded and solidified her dislike of the loathsome little minion prostrated before her.

So yeah, the brimstone imp was unmoved by Rolycoly's entreaty, and would have moved to promptly strike them down with extreme prejudice for their sheer insolence. Thankfully for it Dax's interjection stayed her claw that instance, causing her to turn her head fractionally toward the draco newt with a furrowed look. Not because she saw reason/agreed with his words (obviously NOT), but because she knew from experience that meeting out vengeance as she saw fit without offering some sort of explanation or clarification of her intent and reasonings would only spell disaster. She didn't want to create even more discord within the group with careless acts, nor further bad misunderstandings of herself in the process too - a most recent revelation that still has her reeling and feeling supremely bitter.

Why, oh why, couldn't most her friends not just accept her without so much undue and unjust judgement, like she does with them? Without trying to constantly and so harshly change, confuse, and challenging her very self, something she was still very much in the process of building and discovering? Insisting so foolishly on doing certain things that only put themselves at great risk with no great reward, when everyone's greatest priorities beyond their Quest should be ensuring each other's and their own prosperity and success in this world? Why why why?

That brief snippet of her ongoing internal conflict didn't show as she mulled over what to say to the aquatic salamander, before she decided to just plainly explain herself best she could.

"We could, indeed, but believe we shouldn't, I do not. If they," she lazily gestured a claw at the Rolycoly , "were so willing to betray their Leader and allies, only after getting so deservedly thrashed by us and their defeat all but certain, why should we trust, have faith, or respect this sooty cur? They are once a Traitor, twice a coward - what is stopping them from repeating their Sins on us?"

Pyra huffed. "I say we should knock them out, force onto them the same fate as the rest of their comrades, as a most fitting reward, oh yes. Less problems that way for us all, believe-think I do. But, yet.... "

The fiery demoness smile grew darker, as she turned back fully towards Rolycoly, her expression and tone turning treacly as she regarded them with renewed interest as a thought occured to her.

"Perhaps I could be persuaded and tempted otherwise, to let you go free or hide among us for a time, if you have something you could offer us as a bargain? Say, like, information on these mines, what has happen recent-hence, your Bosses and notable Others, and any trickets and treasures you have or know about? What say you, ho hm?"

Well. There's a new side to her.

Hummm... Ziggy Kee carefully pools together all the coal into one big pile - in the end said pile is as big as he himself is. He staaaares at it, throwing his furry head from one side to the other and from the pile to his guitar bag and back. One unit of coal after the other disappears into the bag until all five of them are stored in there - now the bag's almost chokingly full and leaving barely an room for himself anymore as it carries 9 of 10 Items. Kee huffs confidently, feeling like he collected quite a good amount of stuff. For what that stuff can be useful - well, he'll look into that sooner or later, for now he just enjoys collecting and picking up anything he deems even remotely interesting!~

All of this takes him some time and concentration, so what happens with the Rolycoly left behind is up to the others. If they defeat the rock that's fine to him; if the recruit it, that's fine too!
