[Game Thread] Lord Windos’ PokeRole Adventure 2: The Wild Lands

At first he was hesitant, venturing into the primal sea without *her* support would no doubt be dangerous.

Wasn't it the point of this journey though to prove that he could handle himself even in dire situations? What would *she* think if he backed down from the first challenge without her like a coward.

He would beckon
Ecclesia to follow him, her experience in the deep would no doubt be useful wherever it would take them. It was time.

Fear prickled in the back on your mind as you approached the churning sea with Ecclessia, the mighty dragon of the depths slowly but surely growing emboldened as you inched closer and closer.

A primal sense of increadulance was tingling all throughout.

Were you really going to do this?

*SPLOOSH SPAAAAA!!*

- You are suddenly spat out somewhere, with you Delta drago and you falling into a heap as you glanced blearingly around the....cave you found yourself in?

Musc Change

A deep dark blue expanse took up you vision, with the walls around you a strange sort of blue brickwork interspersed with natural dark and rocky walls. Stalagmite and ties, boulders of all kinds, and what appeared to be a small stream of water were threaded through the immediate area. Feeling something hard and metallic pressed against your side you look behind you, and discovered what appeared to be a giant, strange pipe of some sort? Did you get spat out from that ?

*Terrified Scree!*
*Indifferent Grunting*

A sharp pair of cries resound, dragging your attention away to a place a little further out. There, you see what appears to be two Pokemon(?) - a tiny little ethereal lizard of sort frantically darting about, trying to avoid what looked like a purple Wobbuffet that got tired of being a punching bag and instead became a punching bag, who was focused and trained on using the other Mon as a training dummy of sorts.

...Just what sort of mess have you found yourself in this time?

Aburptly, you shoot awake, finding yourself to be in....

....where were? This isn't were you feel asleep.

Currently, you were in a hazy clearing of sorts. Tall, tall grass shot up around you, each individual plant the size of a small building. A dull, everypresent light filled the area.

There was one path out of the clearing.

Into the Unown.

(Just thought to give you something to do, if you want to! Trying not to leave you out of things, after all!)

Sylvia shakes her head, and then regrets it - her thoughts lagging behind her physicality, the psychic equivalent of your stomach dropping in an elevator - she's hit by a fierce headache, and she staggers a bit.
It... takes her a moment to gather her thoughts again, to settle her powers into the low long hum she's used to. It gives her little extra information about her surroundings, though - the tall grass scattering any attempts at psychic sensing into unreadable static.

Given no further information, she supposes taking the open path is the only reasonable action - though she'd like to do her best to keep up a psychic vigilance. If broadcasting her location attracts something, so be it - she'd rather not risk surprise or being surprised.

(2)(5) 1 Success...

....You are, by and large, unsuccessful as you try and boldly sleuth around for a way to Dive into the seedy underground. People by and large are baffled by your inquiries, as if they couldn't believe a man of your standing would stoop so low to indulge in such shady business, or are very Skittish and panicking as they (think) you are trying to strong arm them into confessing things to get them arrested, in trouble, or on the hook for SOMETHING.

While Scimitars in Sutalor generally have a FANTASTIC relationship to Settlers, they're also by and large seen as HEORIC and Law Abidding (well, honorable in their own way) People. This means that the Criminal Elements of the society, while still holding a good deal of admiration and respect for you, also are extremely wary and reasonably nervous about getting your attention - well, at least until they find out they can Trust you. Considering you're fairly Anti-Social even by Scimitar/Magi standards, the fact that this slipped your mind (and may still do so, if you want to RP Bern being oblivious) is not surprising - Zephy has always been the social Butterfree between the two of you, for better and worse.

So far, so bust with the Search: you can either leave it for now and let this be a Minor Encounter (+ Information, ???), or come up with a more nuanced plan to trying and find the Black Market. Think back to when it was first mentioned to your character in-game if that helps come up with anything, and considering WHICH part of the City you want to search (City Map, looking for 'poor' or seedy areas). Lastly, you could try the Afterlife to get more info, which will continue the Moderate Encounter but abandon your current search for the Market for the time being.

Definitely an Icy Rock then please. We'll leave it in her paws, same with that begnin and enigmatic Card - it's not infused with Magic, contrary to what Bern believed? Alright then. That actually makes him even more curious about what the heck happened and where dear Zephy got it from + what's wrong with her: Every now and then he'll check on her, only to find her still in that unconscious and unrestful sleep (unsuprising).

...Maybe that's why he didn't have any luck finding that Black Market; too lost in thoughts he was over concern and worry for Zephy, Fortune's latest ploy he never asked to be part of, and no we'll not think or daydream about Morgana now, nu uh. Probably wasn't the smartest idea to look around for the Blacl Market without any clue either. Damn, Bernhard, get your head out of the clouds and FOCUS, for Arceus's sake.

I'm aware that...looking for the shady sort of business somewhat goes against what the Settlers see Scimitars as - But we're not loosing too much thought about that or make a fuss out of it. Bernhard's used to do what HE thinks is right and follow his OWN path and goals, and in his book looking into the more unethical side of business in order to get what he wants/needs for his next alchemistic masterpiece - that's fair game. After all the ends justify the means. (Sure, we COULD go without it - but the better the creation turns out to be, the more useful it will hopefully turn out to be in terms of the journey ahead.)

Alright. Let's try to think again, and go a different approach.
(Found the post where we obtained knowledge of the Black Market: https://pokemonuranium.co/forum/showthre...4#pid81064. Crazy to think it's a little more than a year old already, time is weird)

Let's go for the docks then, more specifically one of the Sea Trade Shops. Preferably one that feels or looks.....less frequented, or empty of customers at best. One that gives off an impression of 'not too opposed to indulge into less honorrable things/business, life at the sea is hard enough'. For even better results, have Myra help pick one: Via summoning the former, and observe her reaction to various shops if 'scanning' them with her sixth sense - because I feel a shop that's not opposed to do shady or 'shady' business would trigger a different reaction from her than a shop that goes 100% by the laws.

In there, Bernhard would try to strike up a conversation with whoever's currently at the counter. "Sincere greetings on that rainy day. I'm just passing through, and... *more quietly, whispering*...I do hope you are able to help me with sort of a 'problem' on my side. I know it's perhaps not the most honorable issue, though I assure you that your hospitality would be appreciated and remembered."

He would then, behind closed doors and after looking around once more, present one of the Houndoom Fangs Darren has given to us the day prior. "Have you heard the news of a rabid Houndoom running loose in Bayhama lately? Well, as you see, that problem got..., well, solved, if you wish. It wasn't me, and please do not ask how this fang found its way to me. ...Connections, you see. A gift to me, if you wish. I have more of these, and more parts of that poor dog that would be too precious to... hmm, let go to waste, if you know what I mean. Perhaps you do know a way to make good use of these goods?~ Perhaps someone of the rougher or less lawful type of person could make more use of these than dear me can?"

READ: Trying to find my way to the Black Market at the docks, and striking up a conversation with one of the Sea Trade Shop's owners. Make it look like I have business indeed, and want to get rid of the parts of a rabid Houndoom asap. Make it look like it bothers me that they're in my posession.

(FYI Mika, I'm NOT trying to sell the rabid Houndoom parts. The offer of creating a battle-item out of all the parts for you with you present is still valid. I'm just using them now to hopefully find my way into the Black Market to look for something there for my own next alchemistic creation, if all works out.)

"...what in tarnation...?"

Last thing Seddi remembers, he'd been checking his messages to see who he needed to reply to and schedule meetings with...

...so how'd he end up back in his room at the embassy???  Even his initial encounter with Iron Leaves wasn't this strange...

A quick flick through his Rotom phone's messages confirms Bernhard's message is still there.  The one he's been about to reply to before whatever just happened.

Given the current situation, he thinks it prudent to check in on certain individuals first.  If Leaves was KOed and is going to be all but confined to her Pokeball out of more than just secrecy...

@PhantomUnderYourDesk

Bernhard, how's Muse holdin' up?  Leaves is out for the count.  Dunno what happened, but whatever it was, it wasn't messin' around.

Suits are riled up about who knows what for some reason, and some messages I had received yesterday vanished without a trace.  Something's changed.  I'm going to try and find out what.  Will send an update when I know more.  I have a bad feelin' it's got something' to do with the Wandering Hurricane.

Seddi puts his phone away.  He'll check on everyone else in a little bit.  Better not keep the suits waiting.  The fate of Bayahama might depend on his prudence, given how that suit was reacting.

He'd stand up and frantically look around. What was a pipe doing here and how did the sea lead to this???!? Bricks too?!? Huh?!?

His thorough confusion being interrupted by the weird sounds he sets his eyes on the *odd* pair, what was all this commotion about? That wobuffet surely didn't look like the normal timid version he remembers seeing back home.... much more agressive. He wouldn't want to risk ending up as its next target, better be safe and
subdue it before proceeding.

He'd locked eyes with
Ecclesia and whisper: ''While it's unaware, hit it with Dragon Breath and Abyssal Undertow.''

NOTE: Due to my FUCKING COMPETER glitching out, I have lost most of the post I was working on. Therefore, I will be abbreviating it for the sake of time and out of anger. Sorry dear, but this has pissed me off something FIERCE...

- The Result of Your more focused Search has Paid Off: It has lead you to a Business known as The Lapis Lagoon, a small courier and shipping business that also does tours and various other small jobs and activities. It was fairly out of the way, and judging by its rough-ish exterior and their pontoon boat being festooned with all sorts of serious looking (and occasionally less than legal looking) gear fit for braving the seas and other stuff, it was a PERFECT start to really digging into the BM...

- ....However, you were suddenly yanked off into a side ally by what appeared to be no other than another Scimitar! One that, judging by their dark blue robes, seastone and blue metal Gauntlet, face obscuring hood and 'fluid' demeanor, was of the Water Faction! They had this to say: "What. Are you thinking? Are you even thinking? Do you have any IDEA of what you're doing?" Their voice is staticy and reverberating, but distinctly irritated, bordering on pissed off - magic hiding it, no doubt.

- You got a good INS + Contest + Etiquette Roll to figure out why this figure is so upset with you; you're bold and brazen search for the criminal/grey elements on the Docks has been making a LOT of people nervous and stirring shit up, both in the normal and magical sphere. This was not helped at all with having Myra out and about doing her thing: turns out she has been using Drought to engage in a literal weather war to keep you and her from getting damp (Ugh!) and being all to obvious about her helping you search for dubious venues and vendors. Couple that with the fact it is a Water Scimitar you're dealing with and the location you're in....you may have inadvertidly been causing trouble and headaches in Faction territory. Whoops.

- Myra isn't terribly pleased with you getting rough up a bit by your fellow Scimitar, and looks poised to intervene with just about as much care as you were given (IE: None).[/i]

Going for a Stealth Round? Let's see how that pans out...

Ecclesia's Loyalty: (2)(6)(5) + 1 [She likes the underhandedness!) Yes!
Ecclesia's Disobedience: (5)(6)(2)

Though a bit disoriented from the strange Dive both of you experienced and feeling a mit bit Contrary, never the less your sea drake decides to follow your lead for once. Helped that you were indulging her preferences somewhat, intentionally or not - she so enjoyed getting the drop on unsuspecting prey...

As for the Stealth itself....

Stealth Roll: DEX (3) + Survival (3) + Stealth (3 [Ecclesia]) - Entrance (2)
Weird Wobb's Alertness: INS (1) + Survival (4) + Alert (2) - Distracted (1)
(4)(4)(2) (6)(4)(4) (5) 6 Successes!
(4)(3)(3) (5)(3) 2 Successes...

With the Weird Wobb being so distracted and Ecclessia being disturbingly good at slithering up behind it, you get a Full Round of Actions against the Target! Something she's keen to relish as she suddenly lays into it!

Dragon Breath 1
(2)(4)(5)(3) (2)(1)(1) Hit!
Damage: SPE (3) + 2 + STAB + CHS (1) - INS (1) = 6D6 Damage!
(1)(6)(6)(5)(3)(1) WW takes 2 Damage; 10/12 HP, - 1 Pain!
(3)(6) Bzz! Paralyzed! - 2 DEX!

Abyssal Undertow 2
(6)(2)(4)(2) (5) Hit!
Damage: SPE + *4 + STAB - INS = 8D6 Dice!
(5)(3)(4)(2) (4)(1)(5)(3) WW takes 4 Damage; 6/12 HP, - 2 Pain!
(1)(2)(5) No Curse!

The purple creature is sent flying backwards, crashing into a nearby rock with a slightly dazed expression before it swiftly turns annoyed as it quickly pushes itself off and faces your partner. It sizes it up for a moment, a somewhat surprisingly calculating look in its eyes as it did so, before it squared up, both fists up as it prepared to sock it to you!

The lil' spooky looking lizard, meanwhile, looks shocked by your intervention, hovering off to the side with a confusion and hesitation. What.....who were these people? Why were they saving him?

Initiatives:

*Rolls* Ecclessia goes first, then WW

Faceoff: Pummeling Punching Bag Round 1!

...
*Rolls* thud thud

In less than a blink, she was towering behind the seated man, looking down on them with such disinterested boredom and oh so mild irritation it was practically dripping. Judging by the poor man sudden strangled *Gasp!* , perhaps drowning is the more apt term.

"*Points to the door* Leave. We have no need for sniveling dogs, no desire nor merriment for your groveling entreatments any longer, nay. Make haste, be on and out of our w a y."

The man bolts from the room, tearing out of it with a maniac sob like a demon out from hell was after him.

Considering who you were now dealing with, perhaps too that was true.

*Rolls* Kusanagi's Ball remains dormant - she is Unaware of what is happening.

With a bright smile the Fairy Queen of Unova *Snaps!* her fingers -

Gorgeous and eerie as the Lady you were now seated across from, at a fine glass table that was topped in a smorgasbord of sweets, pastries, and finger foods of all kinds and a steaming teapot.

Morgana, already seated herself, picks up the tea pot, offering to pour a cup for you.

"Greetings, salutations, warm welcoming, one and all! Care for some Jasmine, indulge in some Blacktorn, fancy Sweet Paldea tea?"
