[Meta Thread] Lord Windos' PokeRole Adventure 2: The Wild Lands
Surely this will end better than when something like this happened to Reiner in CCV, right?

Right?

Wishing you a calm workshift then, my dear~ May it pass quickly and without stress or annoying customers for you.

I'll spend my remaining evening (among playing the freshly released Ep.2 of PKMN Flux) re-reading how battling as a Scimitar with Magic works again before I decide on my orders - if I happen to have any questions, 'll let you know in a timey manner to respond whenever you are free.

*inhales* Okay, I did indeed came across a few questions. Perhaps I'm overthinking things (again) or perhaps I can't see the forest for the trees (again x2); if that's indeed the case, I'm very sorry! (-_-; )・・・ I, uh, also tend to ask my GMs questions that might have an obvious answer or should be clear actually (but somehow aren't to me?), that's nothing new fo me aka seems to be sortaa a trend.

I also found this compilation of Q&A I asked about casting magic once. Crazy to think that it's exactly eleven months old.

Round 2 of thoughts and questions about the mechanics of battling via scimitar-spells

1. So, currently I'm facing three foes (one Ratarule-creature and two Raticate). Then there's me and my 'Mons, and I want to utilize Myra and Spritzee in this fight. Myra's staying balled, we'll fight with our trusted Gauntlet and cast her moves via Evocation (aka channeling their power into it, then unleash it directly from the Gauntlet [which I imagine looks cool as heck]). Init Roll is made for me, which makes sense.
HOWEVER, if I were to summon tiny Spritzee from his Friend Ball to aid me in this fight, aka literally make this a 2vs3 fight - would that work out? That's...typically not what Bernhard would do unless there's a serious threat or a good reason given he belongs to the Moderate Faction (found the post that speaks about Scimitar Factions) - HOWEVER x2, he's kinda pissed right now over not having gotten what he wanted (find the Black Market for shopping PKMN parts) AND he finally wants to try out Spritzee's unique skills, so I can see him summoning the smol fae creature in this specific case to help with the fight. In THAT case and if that sounds good and I state ingame explicitely that Bern summons Spritzee, can you roll for their Init too please?

2. Zephy is still in her unrestful sleep, yes she indeed is - however, can I STILL borrow SPE from her to, for example unleast a stronger Flamethrower from Myra, or would that not work out at all? Aka borrow 3 SPE from Myra, then borrow 2 from SPE from Zephy. OR, in a different sense, can I also borrow from MY SPE for a stronger Flamethrower?

I have a question people. Not exactly about the campaign (well, kinda is but is more about the chars themselves) and was something I asked Dragonstrike during a conversation on steam. Which Pokemons you would consider be your Ace and what Pokemon you consider Powerhouse both in this campaign and on Skull Ruins in case of the players who play there.

The definition of Ace Pokemon and Powerhouse Pokemon:

Ace Pokemon: Also know as signature Pokemon. It's the Pokemon where the trainer have the deepest connection or normally appear the more times in the story. One example of signature Pokemon who comes to mind is Ash Pikachu. That doesn't mean a Ace Pokemon is the strongest Pokemon from the trainer (although this can also happen).

Powerhouse Pokemon: It's normally consider the strongest or most powerful Pokemon of a trainer. Sometimes a Pokemon who get a lot of time to raise to get stronger, or was difficult to capture. Either by battle or some kind of quest. Also sometimes a Powerhouse Pokemon can also be a Ace Pokemon, like Leon Charizard who is both his strongest Pokemon and Powerhouse Pokemon.

Dragon give his answers and was pretty interesting discussion so I decided to bring it here. Both for players of Skull Ruins and for the newcomers of this campaign. Both old chars and new chars.

Ohh, those are interesting questions.

Shiva's Signaturemon: That's easy, it's Whimsicott, including its mega-evolution. Smol mischievous fluffball, representing her connection to nature and preferance of Fairy Types and faelike Pokemon in general.
Shiva's Powerhouse: Also easy, it's Azu. Very smol and very scared Azurill that started at -1 Happiness, but grown into a big and confident Azumarill thanks to her love and care, including Huge Power as ability and a bought +1 Strength suprise.

Bern's Signaturemon: Zephy, I guess. She's the reason he became a Scimitar in the first place, plus yet-secret background reasons between those two. He still prefers to keep her secret and hidden, for various reasons.
Bern's Powerhouse: Can't tell, the story and campaign will show!

Don't worry, I'm mostly joking.  Things could be a lot worse than they currently are.

Huh, thats a surprise. I though Shiva signature Pokemon was Delphox because of, you know mystic powers and connection to nature in another way. But I agree too Whimsicott was more aligh with Shiva connection to nature and fairy types. Azu was also extremely powerfull too. And very surprisinly too and also makes sense.

Heart Signaturemon: For the surprise of 0 people, Rose, the Infernape. Representing the fighting and burning spirit of Heart and his connection to fire. Both in the sense of fire be able to safeguard, but also burn everything to the ground. Although Koa the Fraxure also be a second close to Rose as Signaturemon, but never could reach its full potential since the campaigh ended before he could become a Haxorus. But it had strong "Ace" vibes due to its rivalry with Shiva Cottonee.

Heart Powerhouse: Thats actually a trick question. True to its essence as a "Pokemon Rare Collector" Heart had a vast ammount of diverse pokemon in his arsenal. From the strong Quetzal the Delta Steelix and its Mega Evolution who tank the power Primal Deoxys to the rare Lancelot Doublade. I dont consider those two the "true" Powerhouses of Heart. Sure, Steelix had some battles and its Mega was useful in the final battle against Deoxys clones and Primal Deoxys. But the appearance of Mega Steelix was also very short, literally appearing in only 2 battles, the final ones of the campaigh. And then again, Doublade have the same issue as Koa: It didn't reach the peak of its power until AFTER the campaigh became diceless. Don't get me wrong, IT is powerfull, but still not its the peak of its strengh. If I had to choose the REAL chad in terms of Powerhouse of Heart team that position would problably be Gustav, the Clawitizer. As a member of Heart team since day 1 of the campaigh, Gustav was a dangerous Pokemon in the battelfield, specially with its Mega Launcher ability to increase the power of Aura and Pulse moves: Aura Sphere, Water Pulse, Dragon Pulse, Dark Pulse, and some staples against Grass types such as Ice Beam. And a useful healer when times was needed with Heal Pulse been boosted. No wonder Gustav was a staple in most of Heart layouts in the battles in front of him. The cannon crab was a beast.

Oz Signaturemon: Putting this two together since Oz team originally consist of 3 Pokemon (for now). Hecate the Hatterene is her signature Pokemon, no question in my mind. Its represent her connection to her strong emotions, and how she is literally a diamond waiting to be discover, but at the same time with dangerous strengh she can be provoked. There another reason why the witch Pokemon is her Ace, but I will that as a secret. Not to mentioned she was raised by Oz since Hecate was only a egg, so Hecate have a strong connection to her.

Oz Powerhouse: I think for now we can consider Hecate once again her Powerhouse because, bloody hell, Mega Hatterene make the tittle "Raging Goddess" be set in stone. Its Mega form is intimidating as hell with its multiple arms and multiple weapons. Not to mentioned its Mega Ability is really bonkers. Although Hecate is not a pseudo Legendary, its transformation sure is give a really powerfull status. Not gonna lie, it would be a interesting fight someday a Gigantamax Hatterene vs Mega Hatterene. Honestly, I prefer Windos Mega evolution. Call bias since I have a natural bias towards Mega Evolutions, but Mega Evolutions in my vision is way more tamed than Gigantamax, and more cool and cinematic. Not to mentioned Mega Evolution is not limited by the area with Dynamax energy and you can evolve any place you want. And even more tamed now since Mega evolution in Pokemon ZA only stay as Mega in 3 turns. Don't know if this is a rule Windos will put in his table to limit Mega. But a close second as Powerhouse would problably be Fortuna due to its ability Super Luck and moves who use its ability very well such Air Cutter and Night Slash. Although I must confess Fortuna in a twist of fate doesn't have been that much fortunate in her battles against certain enemies, making her ability be used against her. Need to be better in the future.

And thats my post. I do love this type of discussions!

Had you asked me this a few days ago I would have said Lani to both since the draconic warrior princess is both Akamu's most iconic companion and his strongest by far while not even being close to full power.

With the captured Big Gloomy Dragon however the powerhouse spot is very up in the air, if I can get him to listen things will get very interesting

...okay, it's not quite as annoying as what happened to Reiner.  Still far from ideal though.
