[Meta Thread] Lord Windos' PokeRole Adventure 2: The Wild Lands
(06-03-2025, 07:52 AM)Redstone Wrote: If the dormant palossands do still count as creatures I could probably ramp up gloomtail on them after fainting the leader, that could be an angle.

For grouped support I can offer safeguard for status, wide guard for damage, howl for attack raises and mist for stat drop prevention.

Main strategy for me is to get gloomtail ramped up, set up Mist and other buffs on him and Ecclesia then spam Draco Meteor and other powerful moves.

Gonna think about which item's im the most likely to need so I leave more for the rest.

They won't - Gloomtail needs a tangible threat/Active Target to get PUMPED about decimating, so if they go dormant it just 'wont be the same' for him to Trigger his Moxie

Wide Guard is VERY Useful, and Howl is great but would automatically Alert Enemies and draw them in so be careful using it on the Battlefield.

@Dragonstrike , @PhantomUnderYourDesk , @Spiritmon - As a reminder Iron has not only opened his own Inventory up to share his supplies, but he's offering supplies the Military gave him to share (in varying amounts) to people and groups like your War Band, as I state in the Game Thread. If you're low on the Good then don't hesistate to get what is needed there first before tappign Iron or other PCs for resources.

Hmm... Can I indeed then burrow that Utility Umbrella for my G-Rapidash please, @Iron? +the Items I stated in a previous Post? Perhaps, mayhaps, I don't quite know, it will raise the damage of my Psycho Cuts? If not, at least he'll be protected from weather, and a magical unicorn with an umbrella sounds fun.

I do look forward to experiment and play around with weather, fields effects and terrain indeed later on in the campaign~

Just to give a bit of a brief summary of what Seddi's pokemon can do since you guys haven't really seen him battle yet:

- Rabsca is his primary support.  Screens, Safeguard, stat reducing effects.  Synchronize can set up advantageous situations based on the support needed.  May be limited in effectiveness against The Boss™.

- Goodra is The Bruiser.  Has Draco Meteor, so would benefit from Mist shenanigans, but also strongly benefits from Rain (and Grassy/Verdant Terrain).  Has a wide range of flexible coverage options

- Ceruledge and Kusanagi are straightforward damage dealers with debilitating effects on their signature moves.  Curse effects may be helpful, but could also just as easily add fuel to the fire.  Some synergies with Sun and Rain respectively due to typing

- Veluza is the Ace up Seddi's sleeve.  If Kusanagi Soaks The Boss™ or the Ghost typing gets removed/ignored in some other fashion, the fish can be used to greatly speed up the fight at the very start of combat.  Otherwise, he's another Water type attacker like Kusanagi.

- Iron Leaves is an emergency option.  Strong Grass moves, very strong signature Psychic type move.  Has a very strong synergy with Rain AND Sun.  Is typically a slow ramp attacker which gets stronger the longer she's out, so her effectiveness will be more limited the later she appears in the battle.

In general, Seddi's team is geared towards taking out big, single targets.  He will need some assistance with crowd control, but can do absurd amounts of damage and debilitation to a single target.

I can join in on the lack of offensive spread options with Akamu's team, most of it is high single target damage.

Ecclesia and Gloomtail don't care much for weather and terrain themselves except for misty which hinders them, they both respond really well to most buffs,

Gloom is all out offensive while Ecclesia has great support options and the possibility to nuke with Z-Power.

Nalu while frail is pretty good at spreading harmful status and debuffs from range, benefits from rain.

He can only really use those 3 (hopefully not 4) guys since the others have abysmal prospects against the threat.

(Still not exatcly in the best of moods to play the game yet, but decided to share what Oz team can do)

- Fortuna: Tailwind, Nasty Plot, Night Slash, Air Cutter, Peck, Astonish, Nights Slash, Haze, Wing Attack, Quash, Gust, Night Shade, Assurance, Taunt, Air Cutter, Torment, Sucker Punch, Pursuit. With a good setup with Tailwind, she can increase some of us in the initiative. Air Cutter is also a good move to hit multiple targets (and have have High Critical Chance, which is a nice combo to her Super Luck ability so she have a chance to go critical and maybe do some heavy blows), combo well with her Held Item Sharp Beak+STAB. Quash is useful to force a really difficulty foe to go last. Night Slash, same reasons for Air Cutter except it's a single target move. Normally Physical moves would be a problem since Oz strengh is not good, but due to Fortuna surprise, all her physical moves is considered Special. Fortuna is a more or less a jack-of-all-trades. She can help with some setup, can hit multiple foes with Air Cutter, and have some nice single target moves. Need help to dispatch multiple foes? She is your girl.

Persephone: Confuse Ray, Hex, Mystical Fire, Luck Chant, Growl, Confusion, Psywave, Power Gem, Phantom Force, Magical Leaf, Astonish, Confuse Ray, Mean Look, Hex, Psybeam, Paint Split, Payback, Shadow Ball, Perish Song, , Lucky Chant, Spite, Ominous Wind, Nastly Plot, Skill Swap. Aside of Hecate and Glinda, Persephone is a strong heavy hitter. She have a good bunch of different types of moves to explore Type weakness. Ominous Wind is another strong move to hit multiple foes, so putting Fortuna and Persephone together we can hit multiple enemies. Lucky Chant to negate "1" in all the rolls, which is nice. Hex is wonderful if enemy have some status and Shadow Ball is a great alternative. Skill Swap is great to steal the enemy Ability. Her Levitate make her immune to Ground moves, so Earthquake is not a problem at all. And in case the enemy is to strong and we keep Persephone at full Life, Perish Song can be used as a Last resort to KO the enemy. She offer less support than Fortuna and the other sisters, but she is a powerful force in the battlefield.

Glinda: Mystical Fire Delta, Dazzling Gleam, Calming Mind, Disarming Voice, Confusion, Double Team, Growl, Healing Wish, Misty Terrain, Stored Power, Teleport, Charm, Mystical Fire, Shadow Sneak, Grudge, Wish, Draining Kiss. Mystical Fire Delta is just like Mystical Fire but it is a Ghost-type move and can also have the chance of Inflinct Curse instead of reduce the foe special. Can setup Mystical terrain. Disarming Voice, another good spread move who never Fail. Healing Wish in case things go badly. And of course, Teleport to take us out of here.

Hatterne/Oz: Life Dew, Psycho Cut, Dazzling Gleam, Confusion, Play Nice, Brutal Swing, Disarming Voice, Heal Pulse, Megidolaon, Misty Explosion. Even without some heavy moves like the Aroma Moves, Healing Wish and Psychic (the lockdown of Psychic and Aroma moves still stings) Oz still have access to some good moves. Due to her Attribute boost in Special her strenght is lock and will cause -1 in physical moves, but maybe with her 9 strengh in her currently form, maybe things can be balanced. Disarming Voice (another good spread move) is nice. Heal Pulse to heal the ones in need. Life Dew to some real at the end of the round. I do hope Oz can still upgrade the support moves like Mega Hatterene can, but if not well, she can still do some good support. Megidolaon and Misty Explosion (a fairy type move with Special+10 of power move who hit everything) as Windos mentioned can be useful to finish a lot of multiple enemies, and can be a good opening to destroy tons of enemies and if someone use a Revive or Max revive on her she can be back to action.

Again, due to Confusion the number of actions will do...is Zero. Sorry @Lord Windos but I refuse to tempt luck a second time. The dice already screwed me more than enough times. I know I have a lot of potential...But as long Oz is in the perma confusion state, she will not tempt fate with more than zero actions.

Bethy: Copycat+, Extrasensory Delta, Memento+, Detect, Leer, Scratch, Torment, Hone Claws, Shadow Sneak, Curse, Taunt, Hex, Nighshade, Icy Wind, Snowscape. Despite be just a Hisuan Zorua, Bethy already had show to be very promising. She can use Curse a few times without having to sacrifice her health, Icy Wind another good spread move, Snowscape she is immune to her own Snow hit damage. Hex, self explanatory. Copycat+ in case we want her to copy some move of my team, or anyone team and I didnt decided for today yet. Memento + can be use as a self return move. And Illusion to confuse enemies with her tricks.

Meza: Sheer Cold, Icicle Spear, Curse, Dragon Breath, Camouflage, Body Slam, Dragon Tail, Powder Snow, Tackle. With Oz in control again, is Meza now available to come to battle since she was willing to fight with Oz at the start of her speech Windos? I hope so because she is strong in her way too and could help.

Thats it. But again, not in the mood to make posts due to...You know. Confusion status. Gonna take my break to ease my mind since I still not very in the hype anymore.

About that: Asking for green light here before posting in GameThread. Are you people okay if I take the following:

From the War Party:
- 3 Hyper Potions
- 2 Max Potions
- 3 Full Heals
- 2 Revive

From Vernax:

- Utility Umbrella (goes to Nirix)
- 1 Max Potion
- 1 Hyper Potion
- 1 Revive
- 1 Full Restore

...You absolutely sure about that, Spirit? No, please, hear me out first. Like, don't you want to give it some thought, perhaps sleep over it, and then come to a final decision? Please do put your hurt feelings aside one moment and think about what you're about to do: Effectively retreating from a magnificent high-risk+even-higher-reward fight where we could REALLY use your help with. Is that really what you wish to do, what your player-character would do? Like, instead of giving it once more chance to fix things and do what's right? Isn't this THE chance for Oz to stand up and show some confidence, going in into a fight against all odds, not giving up despite things look grim? You sure she or you won't regret things later on?

If this IS your final decision however... It shall be respected. In that case however, can I ask for you aid in healing all of us who will actively battle, does that sound like a decent compromise to you?

To you: @Lord Windos: Is there any way for us to heal the perma-confusion on Oz? Perhaps a Full Heal? If Terrible Delusion CAN be healed with a Full Heal indeed (according to my notes), what about this particular dissociative-identity-disorder'esque confusion from switching?

I'm in agreement with Phantom and Windos as well on how helpful the awesome P O W E R of this fusion could be, despite the risks involved.  I've mentioned this briefly in our one-on-one messages, @Spiritmon, but awesome P O W E R tends to come with some risks.  Windos is compromising with you on this, and I think it'd be a shame to not explore some of the possibilities this enables, both gameplay and RP wise.  Make it through this, and we can maybe explore options to access this P O W E R more reliably and safely later. Don't use it, and it may not even be an option later.

I understand that some of the rolls have been abysmal lately, and that failing when we have a 'degrees of failure' system in place makes that scarier, but you've got allies this time that can help make up for any shortcomings.

We got this.  And if Oz needs this pep talk IC, Seddi will happily give her one.  He's more than familiar with taking a few risks himself.

Alright...@PhantomUnderYourDesk @Dragonstrike. I a little better now. More rested and more calm mind. I am still...annoyed and a bit bothered by this perma confusion if I need to be honest. But if there truly no negotiation in this, and I problably never going to have this CHANCE to use incredible magical power ever again, then I gonna grab this chance and fight too.

Again...Wish things were different and this fusion be done by better methods and not be confused, but I guess this will have to do...

Give me a few minutes. Gonna work on my reaction post. Some pep talk would be good however ngl.

Just don't expect the same energy and hype I usually do people. I AM still annoyed by all of this, specially about the perma confusion. I even willing to grab a Full Restored or a Full Heal and even right away to take away this Confusion. Heck, I will even use them BOTH to take away this damn status before the fight.

I'm fine with that, will take a bit less myself so more is left for the other 2

My amounts would probably be

- 2 Hypers
- 1 Max Potion
- 2 Full Heals
- 1 revive

Vernax:
- 1 Max Potion
- 1 Hyper Potion
