[Game Thread] Lord Windos’ PokeRole Adventure 2: The Wild Lands
(06-13-2025, 04:07 PM)Dragonstrike Wrote:

The masked lad almost startles as you clasps his hand, staring at them for a few second and than at you. There was.....a quiet sense of awe from what little of their black eyes you could see, and their whole body language radiated relief and gratitude.

Within you Inventory, yet always close at hand, you feel a certain Boa p u l s e at your Justified Conviction

"Th-thank you! *Question Asked* .....The one with the Sand Whale. They....fell, and....got paired with that monster and Bound to demons.....to drive and goad them further mad and deeper into HATE and WICKEDNESS. Sh-they can't....can't control themselves any longer, they and the.....demons Bound to her lashing out at the non-Cursed. They're....a part of them....still Fights against the Madness, taking it out their 'partner' ..."

---

From 'James' , you get the sense he was not TRYING to disrespect or demean you, only clearly stating the Hierarchy he (at that moment) found you and Bern in and his priorities thereof for clear communication. Respect and such things seem to be VERY important to him, and maybe the Family Friends in general...

Your own feelings seem to baffle Iron Leaves even more, as She can't even fathom HOW such a creature is so Alluring it compels even a stern, no-nonsense Human like yourself to show anything but academic interest and a sense of perturbed How? . Really, HOW??? Preferences and Attraction doesn't and SHOULDN'T work like that, Ditto-genes be damned!

Presumably you share the relevant details about the Mask Wolves to the rest of the group, who nod thoughtfully ('James' and Citrine) while Lopzu...we'll get to her in a bit. Citrine too is most intrigued by the possibility of recruiting these shifting creatures - mostly for the Magical Potential they have - but Mr. Pinstripes suggests outright putting the Wolves down (Faint or KILL) instead of risking 'breaking them free', reasoning in a respectful tone :

"If things go sideways we'll be far worse off or maybe even dead 'fore we even get a shot at taking down their Boss. Mercy and politeness is a privilege of the strong, and we don't know yet how we stack up against them firepower-wise for that to be feasible or a pipe-dream. We're already risking our necks enough pulling a Savoir - why give Luck and Odds more of a bead on putting us 6 feet under or getting our immortal SOULs eaten and damned ? "

Distasteful as it may be, the guy has a point. Saving someone in violent situations is almost always more difficult than NOT and prioritizing stopping the Threat first; doubly so if the one you're trying to save IS part of the problem. That the challenge of rescue only grows the more disparity there is between your capabilities and the Threat you're up against. Are you certain you want to first prioritize Rescue Attempt over Stopping them, regardless of how you use Bern's and Nox's distraction? Something to keep in mind as you get ready to face off against the Mad Wolf and Mongrel Whale.

Since you're still in the Bunker and nowhere near Group #1, I'll assume Bern is pointing in the direction of where the Group was last spotted in. That being said, your argument causes your vulpizard to pause (while still Frenching Lopzu - multitasking baby~) , before they/she abruptly pull away from the addled swordswoman with a loud and sticky sounding *POP!*. They/she gives you a quick nod, the prospect on either seducing and fighting or ACTUALLY Fighting a great enough incentive to halt their make-out session (and almost quickie). After all, what's better than sexual thrill or indulgent violence? Both at the same time!

She/they do give Lopzu one last longing look and bone-vibrating *VVvvvmmmm....*, though, because they were a fine potential [Mate] indeed. Hopefully they'll get a chance to finish what they started with the bunny later.... ~~~

Speaking of said blade bunny, they end up collapsing into a panting, flushed heap, their greyish-black checks sporting an impressive blush as they stared wildly after the Umbrelong. Before their impulses and Lust addled brain could have them *POUNCE!* back onto the chimerevee - *Ping! WAMP!* - a Rabsca's timely Reflect causes the woman to faceplant and bounce onto her back. Her expression cleared up remarkably quickly, now somewhat dazed and very confused as they regained their wits and came to terms with....losing themselves like a rabbit in heat

"Oh....oh gods....that...th-that was......my Lord ."

From their tone and sense of shame, embarrassment, distress, and vaguely astounded and nervous/scared Interest, Lopzu, now back in a sorta-right mind.....well, that experience was going to be haunting her for quite awhile now, or so you and everyone here bets.

The cowboy's and Mage's own words on the, uh, matter didn't really help - it just caused Lopzu's blush to become near luminescent as Nox's own cyan glow before she just vanished , there on the ground one moment and gone in seconds! From the Presence Seddi senses lurking in his shadows, it is safe to assume the bestial swordswoman has decided to withdraw herself from the conversation before things get even more awkward and WEIRD. From the fact they don't raise any objections you can also assume they're onboard with whatever Plan the rest of this part of the War Band cooks up - that, or they're not in the mood to do anything but follow orders and keep away from that....bewitching temptress of a Pokemon .

Do note that trying to forcefully Capture a Mask Wolf likely won't work due to one of their Traits making doing so an absolute crapshoot. If you can even land the Ball to begin with, as they could end up Dancing out of the way of any Thrown Ball!

Music: Starbound OST - Novakid Theme- I was the Sun (Before it was Cool)

Eventually yet quickly - a common state of affairs in times of war and crisis - this martial and magic mish-mash squad is fully briefed on The Plan and understands their part in it.

Unlike with with Akamu's and Oz's part of the War Band your own is much smaller and the location you're heading relatively more safe than the mind and land bending horrors that awaited in Sand-goths's domain. That made it easier for Oz to bless your party with Lucky Chant, but also apply Field/Buff affects too (Bring them up if you have any!), as well as deciding up what formation you were going in.

Bernhard in the air as Sentry, Scout, and Orbital Bombardment Support.

'James' leading the front, his Octilliry clinging off his body and Deicidueye flying overhead as the Vanguard and first point of contact against enemy forces. Seddi optionally can join him here, though the man insists he's got it covered.

Lopzu is with Seddi, lurking in his shadow and ready to attempt Stealth, Protect Him, or bail him out in a pinch.

Citrine is in the back, waving his hands and chanting as they try to re-direct the malignant energies surrounding you all and mask your approach on the Duo Leaders with obscuring Haze and 'Notice Me Not' mind-magics fields. Obstinsively they're in the back to guard the rear, but you have a feeling they choose that spot to keep their own skin out of the fire as much as possible.

Everyone's shadows occasionally twitch - a tell-tell sign of something tagging along with them....

Seddi could be just about everywhere, though I imagine he's in the center by default with Kusanagi and Ceruledge, as that is the position that can allow him to react and head off against Twisted Cursed Palossands or worse trying to creep up on everyone. Both your blades are dead serious, though the old otter has a twinge of deadly excitement while your animated partner was more focused on guarding her Master with a vengeful protectiveness of her own.

All were ready for their first obstacle in their quest to take down the HATEFUL Sandlossugeist. So without further ado or delay they march, heading out of the Bunker Depot and heading towards the location they know they'll face the twin terrors that feud and terrorize ceaselessly....

Later on, once the entire War Band has departed to deal with their respective quarry, and while you were minding your own business manning the Supply Bunker Depot you made....

You heard a commotion outside.

Then, screams.

The old lady immediately straightened up from her slouch on the wall, turning slightly to pin you with a Look.

"Stay put."

She then briskly exits the Bunker, leaving behind her Punk Rat Artist to look after you.

Listen to her?

@Mikaruge108

(I feel bad leaving you out of all the action, so I have an fun idea to spice things up....)

One moment, you were in oblivion, that in-between state from ____ to ______

~~~
And now you were sitting on throne in front of long table, an old timely beat in the background! The halls you found yourself in were decadently decorated, and most scrumptous feast was laid out before you!
Down the table were several people you vaguely recognize - a armor knight, drinking a potent brew, a seamstress making moony eyes at you, a jittery tailor that was fiddling with forks more than their meal, a solemn swordsman standing guard of to the side, and a heavily clad dwarf laughing beside the knight.
Beside you was regal lady in red, her features obscured by a veil, as she sat back and watch the scene with a certain satisfaction. You yourself were dressed in the finest purple and blue robes imaginable, a bejeweled crown on your head and a chicken drumstick in hand.
You were the Lord of these Halls, and life was good.
Then, suddenly, a wench barged into the dinning hall, spooking everyone there!
"My Lord, My Lady, Intruders have - !"
She is then cludged in the back of the head, and then enters two nerdowells, clad in black, insideous clothing and face obscuring masks as they stalk forward, one with a bloodied knife and another with a sticky cudgel.
How dare they!
Quickly, you leap from your throne, a might claymore now in your hand as you - !
Quoting a clarification I made on how the Current Field of Foes is laid out to the War Band (PCs and allies):
- The Six Twisted Cursed Palossands are within Range of Melee and Ranged; this is the outer perimeter that was established after the Drone was discovered and repelled. Right now this is what Seddi, Bern, and Co are Facing. To add onto this, if you start a Fight these guys will be auto included in the Initiative List with the Whole Group
- The Four T.C. Palossands further back are NOT within Range of Melee (unless the Mon is BIG or FAST), but can still attempt Mid-To-Long Ranged Attacks with some degree of added difficulty. These guys will always Move Last on Initiative of a given 'bracket' of Actions (Everyone's First Action, then their First Actions, for EX) if they remain Away from the 'Front' of the Field where their buddies are holding the line; if they want proper initiatives and more Move options they got to spend a Round or more crawling over. If Ranged is attempted on them then it'll take until the End of a current set of Actions for the Ranged Move to actually reach them, rather than going in strict Action - Target - Next Unit's Action and/or Target's Reaction -> (...)
- Currently their is no direct visual confirmation on the Leaders, though their are pretty clear signs they were *just* there until recently Fighting one another.
Sorry for the confusion here about all this!
That's very valid. But no, I might have not made it clear enough: Bern's plan is it to fight and faint that Masked Wolf first, then try capturing it while fainted and status'd. Can't dance out of the way of a Ball that way, now can it? Disobediance and loyalty matter little if the 'Mon stays permanently balled, now does it?~
If Seddi wants to put himself at massive(!!!)risk talking with a nearly dead wolf regardless of 'James' wise words and Bern's forced capture attempt, that is solely his call.
Distract with a combined Fight is it. Send Equinox forward with the intention of seduction+mating with that very first Palossand facing us. (perhaps there'll be a bonus in the roll because she's already in the mood~ thanks to Lopzu?)
If it fails or turns out unfavourable, Equinox shall know how to defend herself with preferably Cyan Surge for SE-damage x4 (or is it even SE x6 since Nuclear is supereffective x4 and Dark is x2? ) "Do not hold back your radioactive powers, dear one!! Display your ANGER over a failed attempt at full blast, VIOLENCE is fair game!!" Bern would command her from up in the air. (let's see the Init Order first before deciding on his Actions)
Well, since Bern is going to start Fighting the rest of the Party will follow suit in one fashion or another ('James' eager, Citrine reserved, etc) , let's get those Initiatives out:
Initiatives:
Each of the Six T.C. Palossand has 2 DEX, 1 Survival, and 4 Alert = 7
(5) (1) (3) (1) (2) (6)
'James' : 4 + 4 + 4 + (3)
Octillary: 12 + (4)
Deicidueye: 12 + (4)
Citrine: 2 + 3 + 3 + (10)
Bern: 4 + 2 + 2 + (11)
Nox: *10 + (11)
Seddi: 5 + 3 + 3 + (*2)
Cerulege: 11 + (9)
Kusanagi: *9 + (12)
Ps = 12 8 10 8 9 13
'J' = 15 , 16, 16-1
C = 18
B = 19, 21
S = 15 , 20 , 21
First goes Nox, 2nd Kusa, 3rd Ceruledge, 4th Bern, 5th Citrine, 6th Deicidueye, 7th Octillary, 8th Seddi, 9th 'James' , 10th - 15th TCP #6, #1, #3 , #2, and #4 .
Ready for Orders; For Phantom, a Seduction attempt will count as an action during Combat with appropriate - 2 action cost if used as Nox's First one.
When Darren sees his familiar consorts, he, in the back of his mind probably knows who is who, but in this dreamscape, that knowledge is foggy at best. He raises a glass for a toast with {Chloe} the seamstress, and is appalled at the interruption of the feast by these ruffians!
Darren goes for the ne'er-do-well with the cudgel, slashing with his sword!
The Seamstress Chloe the Joyful blushed at your attention, and your Lady in Red let out a titter in amusement. There be no jealousy in these Halls of yours!
None from your people, that is - these CURS must certainly be Grass Green with envy to have the GALL to Covet what was rightfully yours!
Before they could react you are upon the one with the cudgel!
MIGHTY CLEAVING STRIKE!
(2)(3)(5) (4)(3)(4) (6)(1)(2)
*S L I C E !* Extra Lethal Critical Hit!
Damage: STR 6 + 5 + STAB + QE + EL - 3 VIT = 11D6 + 2D6 Dice!
(6)(6)(3)(3)(1) (4)(1)(3)(6)(5)(3) + (5)(6)
The EVIL Villain's head is lopped clean off, showering you in BLOOD! Your Inner Circle cheers, you get toasted by the Dwarf Crusty Lil' , and The Lady in Red lifts her glass and drinks deeply of the Life you REAPED! Take THAT, you fiend!
The other CURR drops their Knife, struck dumb and terrified by your AWESOME and BRUTAL Might and turns to flee - only for their exit to be Cut off by your valiant Swordmaster Sir Sor!
Then, quick as lightning you have them at sword point and glare balefully into their beady red eyes, silently Willing, DEMANDING they they reveal WHY they have breached your domain so egregiously?
They quickly spill their guts - they and their fellows were sent her to rob your Halls blind and kidnap your people, seeking to bolster their fortunes and strike when you were weakest! Unfortunately for them the Lord of the Hall is never weak, ha ha HA ~ !
They also tell you they are not the only ones left - 4 more are in the central room, pacifying your court and trying to ship them off to GOD knows where!
You now .....
A) Rush off to VANQUISH these FOOLS! You alone can slay armies - they will be no match for you!
B) Rally your Inner Circle and have THEM do the Job while you continue to grill this DISPICABLE Villian for all they're worth!
C) Activate the Defenses - force them to come to you as the very Halls spring to LIFE to show how much they appreciate their intrusions! Why not share a drink with your Lady too while you're at it?
D) Whatever suits your whim!
As for this FIEND's final fate....
Slay them, or grant them Mercy?
The cur will literally be spilling their guts when Darren is through with them, but not yet. He has the Knight, Swordsman, and Dwarf take on the invaders whilst he and the regal lady work the living one for more information.
Oz was in a very deadly state of worry. Her headache doesn’t stop hurting. Especially with her trying to keep the spells working as much as she can. And those eyes…It is as if her soul has been looking at her. Within her soul! But…She decided to come to this fight. She can’t let herself be weak now. Looking at Fortuna, they both nod their heads. Oz focuses for a second, and using her scepter, drops of water begin to emerge from the dark sky, giving to her and her allies some healing properties. And knowing their enemies will start their attack after Akumo and everyone decide to summon their power, from her hand where the Scimitar gauntlet is, begin to glow, and a powerful barrier protects her, Fortuna, Akumo and as many of her allies as she can. They need all of the defensive power they can muster. She is worried about the child, but right now, they must focus on surviving.
With that power set, Oz begins her assault. The scepter in her hand begins to shine with a bright pink light, changing its shape.
Oz never was good in spells. She studied as much as she could, however, and always dreamed that at least once she would be able to use something similar. And now fused with Hecate, for the first time…She can have her imagination run wild.
When the pink finally stopped, her Wizard scepter was a little different. Yes, it still has the shape of a scepter but now the top of the scepter looks like…A microphone?
Oz put the microphone close to her mouth. If these creatures are having a party, then she will bring music they will never forget.
She breathed a bit…And then…
Long Scream- Sound Effect
With a mighty scream, or rather, Disarming Voice, she sends a powerful ear shattering scream, hitting as many enemies as possible. She and Fortuna must focus on destroying as many enemies as possible to not let the big one get stronger.
While she is doing that, Fortuna tries to help her sister as best as she can. Summoning the power of winds, slashing guts of air was summoned, using the Air Cutter to destroy as many enemies she can cut to destroy them. They must diminish the number of enemies as best as they can. The less enemies to deal with, the easier this fight might be. Then she proceeds to summon Night Slash and Sucker Punch against the most wounded enemies. They NEED to reduce the enemies as best as they can.
Trainer Actions: If Oz or Fortuna get too many injuries, she will proceed to use a Hyper Potion. Proceed to have as best as she can about healing.
Oz Life Dew: Special(15*)+Survival(2)+Nature(3)-Pain(1)-Confusion(2)-Actions(2)=15D6
Effect: Life Dew normally heals 1 HP at the end of the round, but due to Mega Hatterene ability, At the end and beginning of the Round, restore 2 HP for as many people as it can! In addition, they Negate the first Point of Pain they endure, Chance Effects are reduced down to 1D6 against them, and their Healing Moves are More Effective. Also, if the Rain be set, the healing will also increase by +2 due to weather alterations. The end Healing then will be 4 of healing, which will greatly help us in the Fight.
(Using 12 XP from Hecate to increase her Channel to increase accuracy)
Oz Wide Guard: Dex(11*)+Fight(4)+Channel(7)-Confusion(2)-Actions(4)=16d6
Effect: Priority 3. Shield. Reduce 3 Dice damage from the damage pool from enemies. Probably gonna become stronger due to being a support move. Protect Oz, Fortuna and all her allies as possible.
(Increasing Contest to 3 using 18 XP from Oz and Allure from 0 to 2 using 12 XP)
Oz Disarming Voice: Special(15*)+Contest(3)+Allure(2)-Confusion(2)-Actions(6)=12D6
Damage: Power(2)+Special(15*)+STAB(1)=18D6
Effect: Hit all foes. Never Fail.
Fortuna Air Cutter: Special(4)+Fight(4)+Channel(3)-Actions(2)=9D6
Damage: Power(2)+Special(4)+STAB(1)+Metal Beak(1)=8D6
Effect: Hit all enemies. High Critical Chance.
Night Slash: Special(4)+Fight(4)+Brawl(3)-Actions(4)=7D6
Damage: Power(3)+Special(4)+STAB(1)+SE(1)=8D6+1
Effect: High Critical Chance. Lethal (Hold).
Sucker Punch: Special (4)+Fight(4)+Brawl(3)-Actions(6)=5D6
Damage: Power(3)+Special(4)+STAB(1)+SE(1)=8D6+1
Effect: Priority Move. If the enemy (or in this case enemies) doesn’t use a damage move, this move will Fail.
Kogeki currently ability to active in battles: Anticipation.
Onwards into battle, to arms!! Bernhard will make MAXIMUM USE of the whole group going into Action before these twisted cursed sandcastles. And while we're at it, let's have him GO ALL OUT and raise his own Special to 3! (that's -40 collected XP on his end, worth it.)
Equinox's Orders remain the same: Send Them/her forward with the intention of seduction+mating with that very first Palossand facing us, for distraction and to dispel that cursed energy from the foes with the Power of the perhaps strongest force there is: Love!!!!
"Onwards you go, dear Nox! Get yourself  m o r e ~ , as your rightfully deserve, no more holding back please!! (Willpoint spending) If they're as willing~ as that swordslady from just ago, go for it at full force, radiate them, wear them fully down with love, lust and radioactivity!! And if they are not... Display your ANGER over a failed attempt at full blast and speed, VIOLENCE is very fair game!!" Because yeah right, what's better than sexual thrill or indulgent violence? Both at the same time of course!
When calculating her Stats and damage, please factor in the +1 on ALL ATTRIBUTES thanks to her treasured Radiant Topaz.
EDIT: Lucky Chant is active on our field thanks to Oz.
Equinox's Seduction Attempt: ??? + 3x(6)(6) [Allure*] + (6) [Willpoint Spent] + maybe bonus from already being in the mood - 2 Actions = ?????
Additional Notes: Massive distraction of the foes if it works out. Any cursed energy of the foes is dispelled. If needed, please censor anything outright lemony. (PMs are always open if giving details)
If it does not work out OR my Umbrelong desires for speed OR she can attack other foes: Cyan Surge in massive and unhinged wrath!
Accuracy: ??? - 4 Actions (I only now noticed that I'm lacking the acuracy roll for that move, whoops) = ???
Damage: 4 Strength + 3 power + 3x STAB = 10d6, super effective x6 since Nuclear is supereffective x4 and Dark is x2 [read: 6 autodamage on Palossand, given damage is calculated as if the foe it hit with a Nuclear, Dark, and Dragon move at the same time]
Followed by Nuclear Lick!!
Accuracy: 4 Dext + 3 Fight + 3 Brawl - 6 Actions =  4d6
Damage: 4 Strength + 1 power + STAB = 7d6, +4 autodamage due to Nuclear being double-SE
Additional Notes: Guaranteed to paralyze the foe, radiates(?) and numbs (causes -1 Pain) them as well
And if there is still room: Usage of the unrevealed move '???'  !
Accuracy: ??? - 8 Actions = ???
Damage: ???
Additional Notes:  I predict this to be a Nuclear Move. Or is it?
Now for Bernhard's Actions: There are multiple foes, so he starts with strong spread moves followed by likewise strong single-target hits ! No time to set up or buff, not now, he's acting damn FAST.
When taking damage, all taken Damage shall go to Nirix first to keep Zephy fine. Shall Nirix go down to 4 or less HP, we'll use a Super Potion on him, restoring 8HP on the unicorn.
Evocation: Zephy's Icy Wind!
Accuracy: Zephy's Dext [3] + Bern's Dext [4] + Zephy's Fight [2] + Bern's Fight [3] + Zephy's Channel [3] + Bern's Channel [4] - 1 Inaccuracy - 2 Actions = 16d6??? Is that correct???? Holy fuck, that's a lot.
Damage: Zephy's Special [4*] + Bern's Special [3] + 2 power + STAB = 10d6, 1 autodamage due to SE
Additional notes: Hits all foes and reduces their Dext by 1 each.
Another Note, quoting my notes on Pseudos and Mythics: When calculating Stats in battle, combine Zephy's and Bernhard's Stats (applies to ALL Stats - Attribute/Skill/Speciality - used)
Evocation: Zephy's Dazzling Gleam!
Accuracy: Zephy's Dext [3] + Bern's Dext [4] + Zephy's Fight [2] + Bern's Fight [3] + Zephy's Channel [3] + Bern's Channel [4]  - 4 Actions = 14d6???
Damage: Zephy's Special [4*] + Bern's Special [3] + 2 power = 9d6, neutral damage
Additional Notes: Hits all foes
Evocation: Nirix's Mythical Blizzard!!
Accuracy: ????? - 6 Actions = ????
Damage: ???? + 1 autodamage due to SE
Target: The Palossand highest up in Init Order
Additional Notes: This is ZEPHY's Blizzard, aka a Blizzard at mythical graze and power. Accuracy and Damage unknown to me and Bern until used.
Evocation: Nirix's Psycho Cut!!
Accuracy: Bern's Dext [4] + Bern's Fight [3] + Nirix's Brawl [4] - 8 Actions = still 3d6
Damage: Bern's Strength [4] + 3 power + STAB = 8d6, neutral damage
Target: The Palossand highest up in Init Order
Additional Notes: High chance to crit
And finally, because I still have room for another Action: Evocation: Zephy's Ice Shard!
Accuracy: Zephy's Dext [3] + Bern's Dext [4] + Zephy's Fight [2] + Bern's Fight [3] + Zephy's Channel [3] + Bern's Channel [4] - 10 Actions = 9d6
Damage: Zephy's Special [4*] + Bern's Special [3] + 2 power + STAB = 10d6, 1 autodamage due to SE
Target: The Palossand highest up in Init Order
Additional Notes: This move has +5 priority
(Man, Pseudos and Mythics are AWESOME, so high dice pools)
