Alright, let me lay out a few things first that will factor into why I'm conducting this first 'Round' of Combat

- Right now you're currently just outside the Safe Zone , with Oz doing the scouting . Since neither of you specified attempting to get closer, I'm assuming you're attacking at Range or otherwise have the means to get to-and-from the Safe Zone FAST.
- If you Mon uses a Non-Ranged Move, I'll figure something else out for it to still be useful.
- The NPCs besides The Priestess and BLs are defending the Safe Zone. The former is lending her aid to Oz (if necessary), while the later are making their own attempt to sneak closer to Ambush the Leader

Now with that out of the way -

Oz centers herself, forcefully dispelling the EFFECT the Sand-Goth had on her with ease now that you were prepared for it. Compared to Taking Control handling that....well it was still unpleasant, but easy. The fact that your Confusion seemed to help blunt the worst of the mental contamination is an unexpected bonus too.

Then, she raises her staff, the head of it taking on a baby-blue hue.

You lower your staff slight and a brilliant bead of Healing Water drips right on, splashing onto the sand and spreading out to cover EVERYONE. Life Dew in effect for ALL! It also seems to be having a minor effect of counteracting the CHAOS and corruption of the land itself too, judging by the feeling of purification you get!

This immediately causes the Sand-Goth to SNAP its attention towards you, throwing aside its horrifying meal as all its abominable eyes fix on YOU.

It lets out as _________

A sound so horrifying your mind automatically blocks most of it out. What you did catch, though, was its Surprise and then ANGER.

The party is quickly coming to a stop as its minions jerk out of their revelry and begin to crawl over towards you, with some charging up what looked like Shadow Balls. The only two that didn't do anything were the two T.C. Palossands with the boy, who....*melded* to form a barrier around him.

At this Akamu is quick to get his Sea Drake and Urchin to deploy their own set-up quickly, before the horde arrives

Thick, impenatrable and cloudy Mist blankets the entire Safe Zone and the Sand-Goth's 'party' - and then the storm comes. Black clouds gather in an instant and let loose an unrelenting torrent of Rain. Heavy Rain in Effect: + 2 Damage to Water Moves and 'Wind/Spray' Moves and 1.5X BP for them too, Fire Moves and 'Gritty' Moves BP slashed in half and suffer - 2 Damage, various interactions with Moves/Environment, and Water Type/Wind-Spray Type have Extra Range and Increased Lethality while Fire and 'Gritty' Moves have reduced Ranged and Lethality.

The area soon goes almost pitch-black due to the cloud-cover, but the Priestess and Oz radiant POWER and Aura lights things up enough for you and your allies to not have any Accuracy Penalties. Dark and Ghost Type Moves gain + 1 Damage Dice and Accuracy as a Consequence of the turbulent and fell interactions the Weather has with this CHAOS Zone.

The Heavy Rain douses the fell flames and Stuns the C.T.  Nucklavee as they fall over from the shock! The sheer force of it feels like get constantly getting punched all over - the heavens were furious at this monstrosity, and making its wrath KNOWN. The nearby sea churns and froths as its stirred and empowered by the Weather, causing the weaker Fish Mons to Flee back to the depths....

*Rolls* .....A HUGE WAVE sweeps across entire area, dealing 2 Water Type Damage to Oz, Fortuna, Akamu, Nalu, Ecclessia, Gloomtail, and the ENTIRE Sand-Goth Horde! The pitiful remnants of people recoil and let out agonized moans as the Water sweeps over them, their Cursed bodies beginning to break apart from the purifying salt-water and Life Dew combination. The Sand-Goth, however, seemingly RELSIHES the Water, ITs size slowly but surely SWELLING and GROWING and BULKING UP as it became more and more hydrated.

The sand beneath your feet is starting to get even MORE boggy and soupy - No Effect right NOW, but if you don't finish things quick the Heavy Rain will turn the beach into a swampy delta that'll sink EVERYONE.

Gloomtail broods in the Safe Zone, [DISPLEASED] at being looked over for a mere small fry for kicking things off against this monstrous horde...

Theses damned souls can't be Terrified or cowed, but even in their wretched state they hesistant at the LEGENDARY IRE and DARK DOMINANCE radianting outward from the Otherworld Dragon: - 1 Damage and Accuracy for ALL Actions!

Gloomtail beings to *STOMP* onto the battlefield, deciding that if you're not going to work with it then He's going to be taking a bit of Initiative for Himself.

The Bountiful Raven is near invisible in the Stormy Rain, but she makes her presence clear as she directs the winds to dice these wretched golems and free their SOULs!

The Move seemed to phase right through the Sand-Goth to No Effect! Or rather, it regenerated it away in a blink! *Rolls* Seems like all ITS minions sagged for a moment after and took an Action on its part to do this....

Despite the grievous damage done to them the horde was STILL alive somehow, their burbling moans, hellish shrieks, and unending lamentation raising to a whole new level of RAW CURSED AGONY. Seems like you have to do more than just merely Faint these poor SOULs to subdue them...

EVERY single Palossand but the two guarding the boy formed BIG spheres of malevolent energy, super-charged by their own suffering and the pitch-black Weather. As one they let loose a barrage of Shadow Balls, each of them pulsing with CURSED and CHAOTIC HATE and PAIN that each promises to share!

Oh, forgot about the Nucklavee - yeah, they're Fainted too. As the demonic beast collapses it flashes bright white before splitting into two - those being the Officer and their Ponyta! By all miracles they're alright....sorta! At least they're not CHAOS spawn anymore, and that 100% a thing worth celebrating LATER!

All Twisted Cursed Palossands are now Eliminated; the boy has been revealed again as the ones guarding it are destroyed, still dead to the world (metaphorically speaking).

The Sand-Goth almost staggered from the shockwaves generated by the Draco Meteors and Disarming Voice, its many HORRID EYES blinking and wincing while its tentacles thrashed in agony.

Then it stilled, as it felt every single one of its minions being Freed from their tortured existence.

The Safe Zone and EVERYONE is pulled towards it, the very distance between you and IT being CRUSHED until it was now LOOMING over the group like a grotesque tower ready to fall on them all!

Sand-Goth has grown Larger now due to the Abudent Water and its CHAOTIC HATRED - Increase HP and unlock new Options. Can Double Its Actions against two targets or one at increased Accuracy Cost due to Increased amount of Tentacles and CHAOTIC MADNESS.

Sand-Goth is no longer able to Negate Damage , as all its minions are now Gone.

Suddenly, the very dimensions begin to distort and twist around you - Trick Room and Embargo have been automatically Set! Sand-Goth will automatically go First. As a side-effect, the land is no longer boggy and hindering land-bound unit movement.

*Rolls* Oz senses a BIG presence lurking beneath the roiling waves, drawn by havoc everyone was bringing.

Initiatives will be Rolled Later - if you still want to make plans without them be flexible when it comes to timing and coordination.

*Rolls* Life Dew Fully Restores everyone's HP and DEALs 4 More Than Lethal Damage to Sand-Goth!

Despite the very space and time around you being made a HATEFUL and MAD plaything of this abomination the rest of your support manages to recover quickly and takes it in stride, all ready to do their part in BRINGING DOWN THIS MONSTER.

All but the Priestess, who winces and starts flickering now that the whole group, Boss, and the very area itself was mangled and Distorted. Increased Will Cost to Intervention for the remainder of this Fight.

Since Dragonstrike hasn't posted, I'm going to assume they're either busy or waiting to see how the distraction turns out before making their own plays. So I'm going to operate under the later assumption, skip over Kusa's and Ceruledge's Actions, and Roll out the first 'set' of Rolls until I get to Seddi's, where I'll pause things to let him/everyone else react and change things. Bit unconvential, but hey, when with Romeo....

Your Amorous Umbrelong needs extremely little encouragement at this point to ravage their/her foes in ALL the right and wrong ways, but that jolt of Will does nicely to galvanize them/her to Complete and Utter Sexual DOMINATION. The lab lox cyan luminescence begins to rhythmically pulse in intensity, and as she/they open their mouth a heady cloud of minty, spicy miasma starts leaking out, swathing her in a heady aroma. The Twisted Cursed Palossand (# 3) lets out a Confused, Anguished, yet very mixed howl of tortured LUST, before *FWMP-POOF-Flash!* they explodes in a cloud of sand, as their entire existence could not handle the All Powerful LUST poured into it!

ALL but one of the remaining nearby TCPs Flinch, take 2 Damage, and are now Confused! Meanwhile, ONE of them manages to become Infatuated instead of Flinched on top of everything else, their eyes taking on a cyan glow as they fall under the seductive thrall of their new Master (OF LUST)!

Two of the far-away TCPs are Flinched, Damaged, and Confused, 1 also becomes Infatuated, while one manages to Resist the Radioactive Charm with every scrap of anguished Will it had!

Equinox looked somewhat surprised about its potential freaky conquest literally being blown away by their overwhelming Allure, before it slowly pans its gaze over to the rest of the Ghosts as they let out a *Rumble* . Oh well, let's see how the rest of the crowds fairs -

Nox is completely bowled over as something Manifests from thin air , pinned and Knocked Down with a pair of porcelain covered jaws clamped firmly and *hotly* around their/her neck as it growls down at its Grappled, most Enticing Quarry.

Large - about as big as the werewolves Seddi once saw on the big screen when Poppy dragged him to watch the latest remake of Twilight. Where you would expect fluff instead was black, billowy, ephemeral gas-fur, with long trails of it flowing off in ribbon-like gas-trail strands. Bone-white porcelain armor encased its claws and legs, and it framed their shoulders, belly, and spine, the tip of their Ghastly like tail Paradoxically hardening into a bone-white like bristles at the very tips. Big, wide canine-lupine ears point straight up, dusted with a bit of silver, and their was a sivery, purplish mane that clung and floated around their neck.

Last but not least was their Mask - a dreadful Deer Skull with cruel looking antlers jutting up, with feverish and MAD purple flames for eyes as they leered down HUNGRILY at Nox in BLOOD and LUST.

The Maddened Mask Wolf has revealed itself - it goes 2nd in the Initiative Order.

As mentioned, skipping Kusa and Ceruledge, though I will default to them guarding Seddi if I don't get word soon enough.

Now it's Bern's time to react, but he hesitates just for a second before deciding to Exclude the Masked Wolf from his upcomming Spell? Why? Because with Nox pinned, Knockdown, and Grappled so CLOSELY to them their is no way they can possible NOT bit caught in the crossfire.

That Frustration and anger does serve a good purpose, however - it just makes the artic winds they conjured all the more biting

Despite being frozen solid these demented and tortued creatures are STILL active and Conscious - whatever Curse and Horrors animating them is keeping them in the Fight!

Citrine looks intrigued by the fell and frosty winds you managed to conjure - both Seddi and Bern could tell they were taking mental notes about how to make their Ice Magic as bitter. As they lifted their hands and began intoning a Spell of their own...

- They're suddenly pierced by a MASSIVE spade-like spear that emerges just beneath them.

The Water Magi's screams are cut off as the creature that speared them bursts forth from the ground - you could *barely* catch a glimpse of it, but the shape was BIG, brown and black - then just as suddenly they're dragged underground, a massive long hole were the Magi once stood.

'James' Pokemon are quick to react - his Octillary starts shooting a Bubble Beam down the hole, while Deicideueye, bold as brass, zooms down the whole to pursue *whatever* abducted Citrine and force them back up.

Something, Seddi strongly suspected, was one of the horrendous Land Whales that was the talk of tall tales and grim rumors back at the Staging Zone.

It is now Seddi's 1st Action of the First Round - and here is where I'll leave things for everyone to react to. Order Changes are both allowed and encouraged; after all some preeeetty big shake-up just happened...

Eventually yet quickly - a common state of affairs in times of war and crisis - this martial and magic mish-mash squad is fully briefed on The Plan and understands their part in it.

Unlike with with Akamu's and Oz's part of the War Band your own is much smaller and the location you're heading relatively more safe than the mind and land bending horrors that awaited in Sand-goths's domain. That made it easier for Oz to bless your party with Lucky Chant, but also apply Field/Buff affects too (Bring them up if you have any!), as well as deciding up what formation you were going in.


Seddi would ask Rabsca to put up both Screens and Safeguard before they head in if it wouldn't compromise their stealth attempt.  Can never be too safe.

Ceruledge can use the opportunity to Bulk Up as she prepares for battle.  If they're going to try an assassination strike, she's going to need all the power she can get.

Kusanagi can sharpen her blades with Swords Dance.

The Twisted Cursed Palossand (# 3) lets out a Confused, Anguished, yet very mixed howl of tortured LUST, before *FWMP-POOF-Flash!* they explodes in a cloud of sand, as their entire existence could not handle the All Powerful LUST poured into it!

ALL but one of the remaining nearby TCPs Flinch, take 2 Damage, and are now Confused! Meanwhile, ONE of them manages to become Infatuated instead of Flinched on top of everything else, their eyes taking on a cyan glow as they fall under the seductive thrall of their new Master (OF LUST)!

Two of the far-away TCPs are Flinched, Damaged, and Confused, 1 also becomes Infatuated, while one manages to Resist the Radioactive Charm with every scrap of anguished Will it had!

Equinox looked somewhat surprised about its potential freaky conquest literally being blown away by their overwhelming Allure, before it slowly pans its gaze over to the rest of the Ghosts as they let out a *Rumble* . Oh well, let's see how the rest of the crowds fairs -

Nox is completely bowled over as something Manifests from thin air , pinned and Knocked Down with a pair of porcelain covered jaws clamped firmly and *hotly* around their/her neck as it growls down at its Grappled, most Enticing Quarry.

Large - about as big as the werewolves Seddi once saw on the big screen when Poppy dragged him to watch the latest remake of Twilight. Where you would expect fluff instead was black, billowy, ephemeral gas-fur, with long trails of it flowing off in ribbon-like gas-trail strands. Bone-white porcelain armor encased its claws and legs, and it framed their shoulders, belly, and spine, the tip of their Ghastly like tail Paradoxically hardening into a bone-white like bristles at the very tips. Big, wide canine-lupine ears point straight up, dusted with a bit of silver, and their was a sivery, purplish mane that clung and floated around their neck.

Last but not least was their Mask - a dreadful Deer Skull with cruel looking antlers jutting up, with feverish and MAD purple flames for eyes as they leered down HUNGRILY at Nox in BLOOD and LUST.

The Maddened Mask Wolf has revealed itself - it goes 2nd in the Initiative Order.

As mentioned, skipping Kusa and Ceruledge, though I will default to them guarding Seddi if I don't get word soon enough.

Now it's Bern's time to react, but he hesitates just for a second before deciding to Exclude the Masked Wolf from his upcomming Spell? Why? Because with Nox pinned, Knockdown, and Grappled so CLOSELY to them their is no way they can possible NOT bit caught in the crossfire.

That Frustration and anger does serve a good purpose, however - it just makes the artic winds they conjured all the more biting

'James' Pokemon are quick to react - his Octillary starts shooting a Bubble Beam down the hole, while Deicideueye, bold as brass, zooms down the whole to pursue *whatever* abducted Citrine and force them back up.

Something, Seddi strongly suspected, was one of the horrendous Land Whales that was the talk of tall tales and grim rumors back at the Staging Zone.

It is now Seddi's 1st Action of the First Round - and here is where I'll leave things for everyone to react to. Order Changes are both allowed and encouraged; after all some preeeetty big shake-up just happened...

Any plans Seddi had are swiftly interrupted by the Leaders of the group ambushing them instead!  He can't exactly do much right now to help Citrine directly since jumping down a deep hole without the ability to fly (or jump really good) is not a good idea, so he'll need to focus on the Masked Wolf for now until the other one is a target!

Time to go on the defensive!  Ceruledge spends 24 exp to increase her Clash from 0 to 3!

D&D Session 3 was very awesome (we defeated an evil Alchemist in her base!) but took longer than actually planned, so to not stall things I'll give my orders without Dice Pools real quick:

Oz sees how powerful that enemy is. How that being is trying to consume and destroy the world. She sees how dangerous that being is. How its power can change can even change the very fabric of dimensions. In how the seas fight against them. And how close the Shadow Balls, filled with malice and darkness was about to hit them, if it was not stopped by her and the Priestess.

Before such enormous power, and such force of nature, even her will falter for a second. All those eyes, looking at her soul, trying to break her.

Even with such power, she begins to doubt herself. Especially after that tremor she felt. They all manage to defeat the army of Palossand, but now that being became powerful and ready to dismantle them all.

When she felt her bravery falter, she felt something in her shoulder. She then sees: Fortuna. Her mentor. Her sister. Her Witch Mother. Looking at her and almost saying:

Don’t give up Oz. This is our moment. This is the moment to be heroes. You are not alone. We are all fighting here. We are one.

She then heard her other sisters shouting. They give Oz the will and sound of confidence. Especially Glinda: Her sister. The one who sacrificed her life to save Oz and her sisters. And the one Oz sacrificed her own life to bring back. In how much Glinda sees Oz pride on her, in how much she grew up. In becoming a brave woman.

She understood. YES! She finally understood everything! She turned her face towards Sand-Goth, the big being capable of destroying her. She can’t let doubt cloud her mind and soul.

For this city. For her sisters. For her friends.

No…In the name of all living things. For all who died in this battle. For all who fallen.

Oz screams with all her lungs, using her Scepter to apply her voice, sending a message to the behemoth in front of her. “I will not let you cause any more harm to anyone ever again! We will beat you! We will destroy you! And We will free all the souls you imprison! And we will destroy your master!”

Raising her scepter to the sky, it shines with a bright white light!

“I WILL MARK MY NAME IN YOUR MEMORY! I WILL NOT LET ANY OTHER SOUL FALL INTO YOUR GREEDY MAW! MY NAME…”

A powerful barrier forms around her…And then proceed to the same barrier be formed around her allies.

“MY NAME…IS OZ! OZ THE WHITE WITCH! REMEMBER THIS NAME WHILE YOU FALL INTO OBLIVION!”

With that done, Fortuna manages to prepare her assault, as instructed by her master and apprentice. Yes, she might not be powerful like Glinda or Hecate, but she is the Witch of Luck and Fate. She will not fail. In the name of her honor, she will change Fate.

And by her black winds she will break the barrier of dimensions, and make that Sand-Goth fall! Looking at the enemy menace, Fortuna releases a powerful and loud scream. And as if empowered by the power of darkness and her Master spirit, it was as if a dark aura surrounded her, and like a demon Raven of death and despair, she released her move: Quash! If the enemy is terrified by the Witch of Fate's despair aura, her wings were filled by darkness once more, and she released a powerful and dangerous attack: Night Slash. And after that powerful strike made of shadows, another attack was summoned. Using her darkest powers of, she sends a wing in the form of a slash where the enemy couldn't predict: Sucker Punch!

Oz decided to not fall behind her mentor. Each of her weapons begin to shine with a bright light. The Scepter holding her Special Power. The Wizard Sword holding her Strengh. The Arcane Gun holding her Dexterity. And the Scimitar Gauntlet holding her Defensives powers. All the power she received during this fight. The boosts of Powers her friends and allies grant to her. All this power with one goal in mind.

To destroy that beast. And then go after her master.

The dice increase can only go up to 7 anyway.

Kusanagi failing to clash one attack and getting her CUT technique stolen.

Bernhard's gauntlet becoming severed.

Nox enacting righteous justice as they copy the technique and CUT out the wolf's evasive capabilities.

The ground continuing to rumble as Citrine and Decidueye fight the Land Whale underneath them all.

Seddi runs over to Bernhard, and with a spinning flourish, pulls a Full Restore off his belt to fully heal the mage"You're not out of this fight yet."

No time for mistakes.

Persist.

Adapt.

Survive.

And then...

That howl of pain.  Desperation.

That plea for help, and those pulses from the Boa of Resolution and the Black Braid.

As the cowboy locks eyes with the mad wolf desperately fighting back to get control, Seddi takes a deep breath.  Time almost seems to stop.

Iron Leaves....she's not too thrilled with the DANGER you're putting yourself in. While the fate of the Region and the World at large rests on What You Do....such relatively minor Conflicts like this Dameon (*Shudders*) with Disproportionate Risk to Reward should be avoided. Because, as just mentioned, a LOT rides on you two Succeeding in your Missions.

Leaves's mission first mindset, preferring to let the city deal with this mess without their assistance.  Even now, he can sense she'd prefer he take a direct route to ensuring this wolf cannot pose a threat to them.

"If things go sideways we'll be far worse off or maybe even dead 'fore we even get a shot at taking down their Boss. Mercy and politeness is a privilege of the strong, and we don't know yet how we stack up against them firepower-wise for that to be feasible or a pipe-dream. We're already risking our necks enough pulling a Savoir - why give Luck and Odds more of a bead on putting us 6 feet under or getting our immortal SOULs eaten and damned ? "

James's words echo as well.  Why take any more risks than necessary at all?

A flash of light, fist colliding with energy blade in an impossible feat of resilience and resolve.

A young lad wearing a porcelain mask, all but begging that he help these creatures escape from their torment.

Those blue eyes, directly asking him to stop them in their madness.  No matter what it takes.

When Seddi let's that breath out, he's made his choice.

Why would they take a risk like this?

Because it's the right thing to do.  Not for himself, but for those depending on him.

Nobody said doing the right thing would be easy.

Justice requires Resolve.

And so, he locks eyes with the Mad Wolf once more, as everything around seems to wait in anticipation.

He's got one shot.  One chance to save this wolf from this curse and itself.

And he...

Won't...

Miss.

Time seems to speed up again.

As quickly as Seddi ran to the wounded Bernhard, the cowboy is gone just as quickly.

And he's running straight towards the Masked Wolf, Pericot Berry in hand!

So great is his Resolve, he will spend a Will Point to make it more likely that he'll get to stuff this berry down that wolf's throat!

It's time to wrangle this wolf!

Current theme song from Bern's POV!!
Because the way I interpret this song, it absolutely matches the situation. Almost too well. There I sit at my desk™, all teared up. May you rest in much deserved peace , Chester Bennington.

I'm going to cut myself relatively short here as well to focuc on the reactions and not hold things back unnecessarily, sorry for that.

Because one moment he saw the face/mask of that damned Masked Wolf waaay too close in front of him ('personal space, personal space please!! Respect my boundaries please!!1'), the very next moment he found himself on the harsh and utterly cold ground of the beach of the city. Bernhard feels like he has lost a few seconds of awareness, did the longly-ago accquired mechanism of self-protection of his teenage mind - dissociative amnesia - kick in again..?

It took him another, painfully long, moment to realize that the sand around him was stained in an ugly crimson shade of color, and the air around him smelled like hot iron. This only confused him even more.

He raised one arm [note: the non-gaunteted one] to wipe some sand and cold sweat from his cheek with the sleeve of his fine skyblue robe, only to find it severly stained in the very shade of red that the sand was around him; whatever it was, he only smeared it. And things didn't stop there, from the look of it the pool of red was growing larger every second. It dyed the grains of sand in a VERY ugly, gruesome and morbid way. 

Sounds were muted and his vision blurred, another sign that something was absolutely not right at all.

What that 'something' was however escaped Bernhard. 


Bless his brilliant mind for protecting him from the horrors.

...For so long that is, as he made the huge mistake to look sideways.



That very sleeve of his robe was stained even  MORE  in that crimson shade, and it slowly but surely SPREAD.

.....THAT WAS THE VERY MOMENT REALITY HIT BERNHARD HARD, MUCH TOO HARD AND FACEFIRST WITHOUT  ANY  HINT OF MERCY.

 
Zephy's panic, tangible even through her signature Premier Ball, reached him. Emotions Bernhard didn't even know he had washed over him, all at once, in a mighty tsunami-like wave. 

And there he was, completely helpless. That Masked Wolf rendered him as defenseless as he could ever be, as vulnerable as he could only be.





...Whatever took a crack within Bernhard from the previous days' events, stoic and self-secure and confident as he always gave himself...


....it now broke apart into a thousand pieces, leaving him shattered and left all alone to pick them up.
