[Meta Thread] Lord Windos' PokeRole Adventure 2: The Wild Lands
Do as you wish and what you and Seddi think is right, Dragonstrike - in Bern's eyes, the Wolf deserves absolutely no mercy, quite the contrary actually (I'll spare the details, but know that furious Bernhard is not above drastic violence toward those that made him furious). I'm learning into having him escape, to seek immediate medical help for his severe wounds.

Unsure how risky it is to have him retrieve his Gauntlet (and hand). If it involves a roll, I'm not taking that risk, in that case can I ask perhaps you to get it back, please? How functional it will be...Well, we'll see.

What item do you plan to use here, @Dragonstrike, can I ask that? You said you do have an Item to heal him one or two posts prior, did you? Preferably something that will stop the severe bleeding? (Unless you don't want to tell just yet, that'd be totally okay, I shall wait in high anxiety)

I do have some healing items, yes.  I don't have *too* many since I opted to let the NPCs take the rest of the supplies, but I do have some stronger Potions available for emergencies.

If what you have planned can patch poor Bern up enough to 1. not run away in seek of immediate emergency medical care to stop the severe bleeding and (optimal) 2. remain in the fight without risk of dying here, that'd be muuuuccchhh appreciated indeed. But, uh, kinda want to hear Windos' input on my initial reaction here before doing anything rushed.

One way or the other, I'm very curious to see how you and Seddi will react to the course of Action with that Wolf.

An alt. idea that came to me: Can UMBRELONG aka Equinox get their Master's Gauntlet+hand back? How possible and risky would that be for her? She's wounded too, but much muuucchhh closer to that beast of a wolfmon than Bern is. Aaand she's very angry at the Wolf hurting Bern that severely (a potential bonus?)

*Yawns* Ah...that was some good sleep. Sorry about leaving you guys hanging, but I've been running on fumes for awhile and needed to crash for a bit. Back-to-back 9-10 hr night shifts are rough as every, but boy do they pay good!

The Gauntlet is caught in the Masked Wolf's tail, right? What roll (if any) will there be to get his Gauntlet back while it is distracted with Seddi? Furthermore, is there enough time for Bern to rush off to the Medics with it and get the fucking HELP he very desperately needs before he freaking dies? And how much higher are the chances of survival if he drinks 1 unit of his Panacea?

I did all but warn about the possibility from the Info Dump I gave Dragonstrike, but since no contingencies were in place and even in MADNESS a Mask Wolf is a extremely clever enemy....it did what it could to neutralize as many combatants as possible. It may not have typical Pseudo Mods, but between the mojo its pumped with and insane intelligence and Traits it sure is one bad mofo!

Right now it is Action 4 of the First Round, so if Bern (or Nox) wants to get the Gauntlet back they'd have to make a Stealth or Grapple Roll vs any Reaction Roll from the Masked Wolf to at it. With how hyper advanced modern medicine is in this campaign and how pretty CLEAN the CUT was - as well as the fact your Gauntlet is also a medical prosthetic that's also designed to be relatively easily attached to a body - getting the CUT staunched (or burned) closed before the Gauntlet re-attached would be quite feasible for any field medic and very easy for an actually trained healer/medic. In the middle of combat, however....much more dicey of a prospect.

Pancea is more likely to regrow Bern's entire hand, among many other wonderous and miraculous things. Great for saving his life, but bad since it means you no longer have an 'easy opening' to re-attached your Gauntlet back onto your body and have to find some fidly work around to get it reconnected to your personal system/arcane network and functioning once more. Running from the fight is also an option, but Bern is liable to be a prime target for the Land Whale - well, if it still isn't too busy with Citrine and Deicidueye...

A Full Restore is perhaps the best Non-Pancea option to eliminate all damage ASAP and treat their Bleeding WITHOUT ending up regrowing their arm, but a Max Potion and a Medicine Check (at a - 6 Action Cost, with the Healing Item being a Trainer Action) could work as well too. Extra Lethal Damage takes 4 HP to eliminate 1 unit of it, so 7 * 4 = 28 units of HP need to be crammed down Bern's, Steelenes, and Kusa's throats before you can ACTUALLY work on healing/restoring their HP. So yeah, basically only a Full Restore HP Item, stuff like a BS Wish, Healing Wish, or other Move, or KOing the Mons and using a Max Revive would be efficient at treating these grievous wounds.

Re-checked about Extra Lethal Damage , and it turns out I mis-remembered how I got it to work! However, with hindsight I say that its original implimentation was too harsh, so here's how it works NOW: Every Unit of Extra-Lethal Damage needs 4 Units of HP Healing to be Eliminated, leaving a 'empty' unit of Max HP in place, and every 2 Units of Extra -Lethal Damage inflicts + 1 Pain on the target (Min 1). Other effects of it vary depending on WHAT go Extra Lethally hit - Bern losing his arm, in the most recent example.

More Than Lethal , on the other hand, can't traditionally be healed by Medicine, and requires more exoteric means of fixing it, like Wishes, magical/arcane based Healing, or good ol' classic TLC and rest for the SOUL to heal on its own. Every point of it removes 1 Max Will, and every point healed gives back 1 Will. If you lose ALL Will from More Than Lethal Damage....ruh roh.

Note the above down, people!

Welcome back!  Hopefully work takes it a little easier on ya for a bit after that.

Hence why I tried to Clash its attacks rather than try to just simply hit it.  If we're going to be straightforward with dealing with it, might as well try to make it as complex as we could even in that simplicity!  Shame it only half worked, but that's the gamble ya make when clashing.  *shrug*

Oof, that's a lot of healing.  Well, that's why we got all that supplies to use.

Dunno if I'm going to get around to posting this evening since my aunt is currently visiting and Monday's game day with my friends.  Definitely debating what to do and how to react when I have moments to do so though.

Very well, that's useful input indeed, thanks my most beloved and now well-rested Windos~

No Panacea then. If Dragonstrike won't or can't help out with a Full Restore (please do, I'm asking for it, but no hard feelings if you can't), I can still have him do it on his own. Then I please want Umbrelong to use Minimize for better Stealth, and attempt to get Bern's Gauntlet+hand back while it is focused on Seddi, with 2 Willpoints spent on this action. Is she smart enough to do so without direct orders from Bern? Since I fear giving her orders will only...alert that Wolf of Equinox. Feel all free to roll that part out already (and only that part please) if you want and can after Spirit's and Redstone's Round - since 1. I'm off to sleep now and 2. got errands tomorrow.

Unfortunately you only specified 4 Actions (1 from the Seduction + the 3 Mentioned in your combat post), so Nox is effectively Out of Actions for the remainder of this Round. You'll have to include the above sequence in the Next Round....if you or they/her get one. Though whether or not Nox will implicitly understand and follow that Order is another matter entirely...
