[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole
Nathan walks up to Princess and gives her a (somewhat awkward) hug.  "Amazing job, Princess.  You did great despite the odds.  I'm proud of you.  Kirlia, thanks for persisting despite what happened earlier.  You feeling a bit better now?"  Kirlia nods.  It wasn't that bad, all things considered.  Just a sudden spike.  As quick to go away as it had happened.

"I have to say, I wasn't expecting a battle that difficult.  You two might be rascals in most of Trillium's opinion, but you're certainly good battlers."

Nathan has to ponder what they said and asked for a moment.  'Hmmm....a Skiddo would be interesting...but that's REALLY expensive...and that doesn't help me against those flying types much either...electric, though...no, that Pinsir is probably more of an issue.  I need something other than just Swiftfire for that...I wonder...this forest is filled with bugs...would there be any Joltik around here?  Maybe Staryu can help with that...'

"Thanks for the info regarding getting a Skiddo.  I'll keep that in mind if a need for a good grass type arises.  As for something to tell Mallorn...I can't think of anything right now.  Do you know if he's going to be in Corsage soon, though? Oh, and before I forget, let me ask you something. Was it your Wingull that had Water Absorb, Riff? I've never heard of that species having that particular ability before. Keen Eye and Hydration, yes. But Water Absorb? That's a new one for me."

FLASH FORWARD!

Nathan use Staryu's Illuminate to attract some more wild pokemon to the area after the battle!  Maybe the light would attract a Joltik...they're not the most common bugs, but they DO like light and electricity.  Heck, maybe he could convince a Joltik to come with some honey and an offer to help the little bug recharge.  It'd certainly be much better than a battle with it...he was equipped if it came to that, though.  He hoped it wouldn't, and he REALLY hoped it wouldn't be super stubborn, but if convincing it didn't work...he needed something half decent against flying and electric types pretty badly, and what better pokemon for the job than an electric type itself?

Looking around after Staryu's Illuminate brightens the area, he spots a flash of yellow!  Three, actually!  One by a hollow tree, one in the grass, and one by...a street lamp!  Perfect!  That's a fairly likely spot for an electricity sucking bug to show up!

In an unfortunate turn of events, it turns out that, after a few minutes of painstakingly combing the bush, it only contain a few shiny bits of trash. 'Completely and utterly worthless, both to my current predicament and the environment. Well, I shall just tidy up here, and continue my expedition in finding better objects for myself. Perhaps I will have more luck if I explore further away from the trail...' Ventus though, letting out a few disenchanted grumbling as he stuff the garabage he found into his satchel, before going deeper into the woods.

Lucifer, who had finished his yummy treat by now, had snuggled right back into the researcher comforting tweed sweater, and almostly immedianlty dozed off. He's had a really busy day thus far; getting to know his master and friends, as well as Frisking the surrounding forest for trinkets to snatch up sure took a lot out of them! Now its time for sleeping dragon to lie...*zzzzzz*. Ariel, meanwhile, was doing her best to keep up with her master quick pace, and was just about ready to let loose a Bubble on him as a not so polite means of telling him to slow his pace a tad. However, something...perplexing caught her attension, forcing her attension away from Ventus and carrying her wobbling stubbs over to said peculiarity.

Said researcher, catching onto the change in his Corsola's mood (He'd been monitoring it for some time, and was just about ready to hit the deck at any signs of being hosed), turned towards the direction she went off too, and both of his eyebrows shot up at the sight. By all appearances, there was a Bonsley sitting in some sort of clay pot, with Ariel hovering outside their range staring curiosly at the mimic. She was aware that it was a fellow Rock type, but it didn't understand why it would be imitating their dreaded enemy, Grass typing. While not hostile to the faux tree, she was still ready for any signs of aggression on their part, so it better watch it!

What caught Ven's eye, however, wasn't the Bonsley, but on the pot itself: A Dragonair statue was nesting on its border, and their appeared to be some sort of scripted inscribed on the pot. His curiosity clearly aroused, he began walking over to the potted rock, holding his hands up in a sigh of peacefulness. "Greeting, Bonsley. Forgive my trespasses, but I wish to examine the scripture on your home, and also the Dragon Statue resting on it. I have no malicious intent against you, so would you please entreat me on this matter?"

Order: Not going to start a fight with Bonsley for once, as I don't want to risk damaging the pott or statue. If negotiation are successful, Ven's going to get a closer look at both Dragonair and text, and make decision on what to do based on that. If the fossil wood wanabee decides its not in the mood for zen, however, Ariel will waste no time in unleashing a Bubble at it, and will keep doing so once per round until it either faints, or knocks it off and surrenders.
Like the wind, I come and go as I please... but I am always there to provide a comforting breeze.

Ugh... Shiva's been following the path for a while now and there was no sign of the others yet. Slowly, she began to worry what has happened... Maybe it wasn't such a good idea to fall behind... However, if they just moved on and left her behind... Reshiram forbid. That's be hard to swallow. How disrespectful...

... No. At least Ven would never do that. Unless something happened.

She sped up her walk a little, the fainted Spearow as well as Azurill in her beloved top hat still in her arms.

(ohhh, I wished that earlier, didn't I? I wasn't sure if it was somebody elses. I'll gladly take Froakie then, you can also remove Slowpoke from my list, btw.)

Valder finds the tall grass annoying and walks out again. "Damned mosquitos, whatever that is..."

Walking towards a pond he finds a peculiar little Pokemon. A Froakie! Valder tightens his left fist, and reach for his pokeball with the other one. Go, Ghastly! And now the music starts even more magically!

Shiva hears the voices of her party members - turned out she wasn't far behind at all. She hurries to catch up and sees that they have all split up on the edge of sight from each other.

Bonsly is content to just swivel in his pot and observe Ventus, just as Ventus observes him.

The Dragonair statue is made from a very tough ceramic. It looks quite old, possibly many hundreds of years old. The ceramic itself is blue; there's no paint or enamel. The craftsmanship is good.

The hypertufa is made of loose grains of sediment glued solidly together by chemicals, sort of like a crude concrete. It too has endured many years, but it is slightly cracked where it was dropped right here. The pieces are right beside it - so it hasn't been here too long!

You can see some footprints where Bonsly has ventured forth from his pot and returned back to it. He's holding the remnants of an Oran Berry right now.

The inscription on the hypertufa (written on an old old bronze plaque) says the following:

"Ere man desc_nds to layer fo_r
A King must s_ow the King's own door."

Nathan got it correct. It's a Joltik, sucking on a loose cable in the base of the lamppost. The tiny bug crawls away at his approach, hiding under the skirt of the lamp.

Joltik's Initiative: (1) + 2 Dex + 0 Survival = 3
Yours: (1) + 4 = 5
