Plus, he was almost attacked in the night and ended up teleporting to a spooky place. Any sense of kindness or reason is thrown out of the window at this point, as he just want to get the hell out of there with you.

Unfortunately, Houndour aren't exactly known for their mercy and cowardice...threatening them like that is probably just going to make them angrier.  And there's probably more than enough of them there to overwhelm Ventus eventually.  Particularly since he has no spread moves to try and deal with them all at once.

He does have 1 spread move at his disposal, though : Bubble. If these Houndour are Fire/Psychic types, I doubt they would appreciate a Leer Hustle Bublle released by Ariel!She can also use Recover to get out of scraps, so she has some self substain as well.

True, but if they all gang up on Ariel before she wipes them out? Or if more arrive and do more damage than she can heal off?

Not trying to be a pessimist here. This is just a REALLY sticky situation Ventus has gotten him and Shiva in.

Switch out Raphael for Ariel, and have Apsis both cover and divide their attension. Ventus spewing insults at the dogs would draw Argo to him as well, so Ariel has plenty of time tank and spank, especially if she Hardens before attacking.
