All this talk about sabbleeye make me curious about the Mega entry of his. Here what I found:



Well, its kind make sense the reduction of speed, since sabbleye prior to Gen 6 didnt have any weakness before the fairy-type came. Imagine Terra see a Mega Sable in his front...

Also I take the opportunity to take a look in the Mega-entry of Mega Garchomp:



Man, its times like this I gladly @Iron forgot I have use a Pokeball to capture the Earthpower Gible back in the battle in the caverns. That must be a paintfull Mega Evolution.

I really really like how it is connected to his Stats, High Vitality/Strength in return for low Insight etc., and it's an interesting thing on it's own to be saved by a wild Pokemon. ^^ Well-written and told! On the other hand, sad and tragic backstories tend to drag me a down a little myself if they hit a nerve in the means of 'I'm feeling sorry for chara XY having experienced that', which it kinda does in Terra's case. :C I'd happily would have Shiva react to things and show some care and empathy to that mountain of a man, but oh well, we can still have our moments and stories shared together later I guess. For example, I'm actually highly curious what has brought him to distant Chreshire...?

I, eh... prefer my backstory-concept for my own chara though, am somehow feeling uncomfortable to make it sad or tragic deliberately.

Also a question, Windos, since... I'm feeling a tad bit bad for Terra to be so (your words) 'dumb as a box of rocks', even since school. Isn't there a way or chance we can, uh, make him less dumb or help in that manner?

I wanted a simple, uncomplicated (in one aspect), and STRONG character as my backup should Ven had to go, so I made Terra all of that, gave him a strong moral compass, and left his Insight/Knowledge in the gutter! From there, I searched for Pokémon that would fit him and balance each other out (Originally it was just Shiranui and Basteele, but got to add more with Iron's permission!), then built a backstory around his first choice and stats! I wanted to make a character that would almost guaranteed to get along with everyone, since Ven was....devisive, so giving him good character and a sympathetic backstory was a must too, which ended up being what I described. The more adversity a chara. undergoes in life, the more interesting and fun they are to play/play with!

If you want to know how/why he left Hoen, just ask him. It isn't that special nor sensitive, so he wouldn't mind sharing it with anyone.

To each their own, and I don't blame you or ANYONE for just wanting a normal, relatively happy + undramatic life/backstory for their chara.!

In truth, Terra was born mildly retarded, and he's the type of person that wouldn't have done well in standard educational settings regardless. His parents, his teachers (to a extent...), and Brawly made sure to help him overcome his disability to a good degree, but he's always going to be more challenging and/or difficult for him to learn/get smarter stuff outside what he's good/experienced with. Maybe one day he'll gains 1 Point in Knowledge and/or Insight, but that's the about the maximum he can get purely intelligence wise.

Yes, I remember you once stated something in the direction that you would want to focus more on being strong in battle with a chara in case Ventus would go, which kinda matches Terra. ^^ Can't be great in everything however, so making him slow and pretty dense in return for decent in delivering and taking hits sounds like a fair exchange.

Got enough drama and hardships in life already, so having a RP-Chara that leads a calm and relatively uneventful life apart from various defining experiences (good and bad) is quite relieving to me actually. But thanks for accepting, dear!~

Huh, mildly retarded... Well, Terra's indeed giving off the image to me that he's getting along despite it, which is pretty neat to see - though I wonder for how long... I don't feel that scoring high Insight and Knowledge is directly linked to intelligence, neither in the means of IQ nor EQ, more like 'indirectly' or 'vaguely'. I still feel a little sorry for him though, so I'd happily help him widening his horizont a little or being less dense by sharing stories, experiences, train together or whatever would do the trick, regardless whether he levels-up due to that or not (your choice, really!). Shiva's definitely patient and insightful enough.

You know what I feel would be cool to see? Him joining and watching how she is trying to convince a wild Pokemon joining her without any battle, as you said that's something he neither knows nor is good at, wonder how he'd react to seeing her doing such a thing. How does that sound, would you/he be interested?

Well, perhaps Iron have forgot to give the stats? I remember that time we were in a complicated moment with so many people posting at the same time. Maybe he missed my post? Its the only explanation I can think of.

His parents and the few people that helped him learn despite his slowness made sure he'd be a well enough adjusted individual in society, and know enough not to act like a total fool or incompetent with others. Go good nurturing! Still, his lifestyle, atrocious Insight, and low intelligence makes it difficult to socialize and/or bond with others, so he'd be happy to get all the help he can in that department! He likes talking and interacting with others, even if he doesn't look like the type for such!

Its not that he ISN'T aware of Diplomacy with Pokemon, but its just something that he never though to do, since he's rather aware he's FAR more a fighter than a smooth talker. He'd be willing to join Shiva to do as you said, and he'd be pleasantly surprised + make him admire her even more, but it wouldn't be a mind blowing revelation. He'll continue catching Pokémon the 'Beating into Submission' way, since that method is almost guaranteed to work, and he usually sells off the Pokémon he catches! Duskull's an exception, since its on my wishlist, and he wasn't likely to get another one via any other way.

From what I could tell/thought, all those Ground Pokémon where the Eremit's/Landorous's besides Beartic, so that was why Iron didn't bother to let you catch the land shark.

If you are prepared for it, it's trivial to catch a Pokemon and have it go to another trainer's OT. Just swap balls.

However, if the target trainer isn't at least present during acquisition, the Pokemon may still view it as a trade and lose Loyalty/Happiness.

Thanks for clarifying! That practicaly means that if there's one Pokemon along the way that you'd like to have acquired for reasons @Lord Windos, we'd at best take the Encounter together if two people can take it in the first place. I'd be very down for it in case nothingelse of an Encouner List catches me :>

I guess for simplicity and pace, after the battle with Tanuki I'll let my second Encounter of the Day run parallel to that meeting, means flashing forward.

Since Nathan's keeping Ray due to it knowing FLASH naturally/its a neato Pokémon, could Terra have one of the Ultra Balls they bought as compensation? If its possible, Terra would like to help capture Unown in the cave, but he's sorta strapted for cash and Pokeballs right now, so he cant help today.
