[Meta thread] Iron's PokeRole Adventure: The Skull Ruins
The human greed its always a shit dont you agree? You cant expect a good thing when you try to control a Legendary Pokemon. They Legendary Pokemon for a reason for Arceus sake! Its Mewtwo exploding the laboratory of a bunch of scientists, its a crazy collector trying to put in some collection the Three Legendary Birds, its a stupid anti greenpeace guy who try to control Celebi itself, and a group of nihilists trying to control the Pokemon Gods who literally control the laws of time and space!

Welp, looking at the bright side, Sarimanok never have the unfortanely to have anger the devil Pokemon Giratina, be drag to the Reverse world and problably have paintful death for trying to literally end the universe and kill everything and everyone (Because I one hundred percent certain Cyrus might have suffer A LOT by the hands of Giratina. He is called the devil pokemon for a reason).

But anyway, if ever dare to think in control one Legendary Pokemon, my friend, the only thing you can expect its results in big failure. Even more if you talking about one of the three golem pokemon, who was made by the same Pokemon who can moves entire continents with his bare hands! Even if the Golems dont have THAT level of power, you can be sure they have a fraction of power, and problably Reggirock alone could destroy a entire kingdom for sure if angered. Since in the Pokerole its not the same thing as the games, since Legendary are pratically gods or at least demi-gods.

Yes! The Jirachi gifts all cause some sort of alteration. You can pick one for yourselves if you like, and I put some in the initial description.

The choice is permanent, however, because your characters didn't know what would happen either. I may think of other effects for the gifts later.

By no Item stacking, you mean t hat it doesn't stack with another Steel Coat or clone thereof, or it doesn't stack with ANY items?

Yeah, you can cause the evolution of those two Pokemon now! And Heart can always start a fire without matches or Fire types!

And is it possible I could also get a slightly more detailed description of the strange, lizardlike pokemon?

EDIT: And while I'm thinking about it, how many Shieldon and Bastiodon are linked via threads?  1 of each, or are there more?

Yes, has to be in the book, of course.

The lizardlike Pokemon is brown and yellow, with purple highlights, and very close to the ground. It looks lumpy and grumpy. Definitely a rock type but you aren't sure what other type it might have.

There is one each of Shieldon and Bastiodon, which is all that was visible during this scene. Since this is a myth, it stands to reason that other Shieldon and Bastiodon etc were granted the same gift as the ones that were actually in Jirachi's presence. This isn't a Noah's Ark situation. It's more like a Just So story, if you've ever read one of those. How The Elephant Got Its Trunk.

Nathan's power only affects characters that have been bonded with in some way, so you can normally bypass it with a Pokeball capture, or just by grabbin' a Pokemon like Farfetch'd. This is a bit of a special situation though - Terra has a bond with Shieldon because both were granted a gift of Steel, for example.
Just a little OOC information that will help you to know Nathan won't have too much power over Pokemon selection.

How he created, where he get that item, and how we can stop in our time in 2017. If we could find any info, we could be more prepare when we face whatever is inside the Skull Ruins.

We dont need to stop that since its Dialga and Celebi rules of time travel, but that doesnt stop us from learn from the past and get information.

The Disaster of Stone isn't an item from what I understand of it.  It's a crisis relating to Regirock, the Rock Peak Pokemon.  Sarimanok bound it to his will, and then it went out of control and became even further corrupted when Sarimanok was unseated and his castle fell into disrepair and became the ghost type infested Skull Ruins.

You're not wrong about our ability to learn from the past, though.  We don't necessarily have to time travel to get that information, of course.  Nathan's pretty good at digging up historical information both recent and ancient.

As far as Nathan knows, NO ONE in Creshire knows these details about Jirachi and Deoxys. Some general info about the contents of craters might be available, but no one was there to witness it except you!

Info about species diversity is definitely available from the fossil record.

Hey Iron! How was your day, mate? Did the cabin was delievered fine, and set well on the foundation? Just curious, and you know my interest in construction! When are you going to do the piping and wiring of the place, though, if that hasn't already been taken care of?

Anyway, I'm rather stoaked that Terra is now technically a catalyst for certain Pokemon Evolution, as that just makes him all the more awesome! Woo hoo! I presume that the Metal Coat Damage Buff doesn't stack with another Metal Coat or similar Item, but will stack with another type of buffer, like Sliver Powder?

For physical changes.....why not give him literal abs of Steel? After all, the description for 6 Vit or above clearly stats a character has them! Otherwise, maybe just give him shiny knuckles, like metal deposits beneath the skin!

Huh....so that means Terra can convince the Shieldon or Bastadon to come along with him in the space of time the group has before they are wisked away, since he shares a Bond with them? If so, can he possibly spend Will Points to increase the chances of them coming along, since he's literally The Man of Steel now? Of course, Nathan gets first pick of the Pokemon he wants, so I'll let Dragonstrike decide which one he wants first before commiting to anything.

On another topic entirely, is it possible for the Psychic Pokemon to tell something has changed within Terra, including detecting The Gift Deoxys gave him?

Hence why Nathan now has 5 Knowledge!  (Kinda)

That was rather clever, replacing the 4 most common types with the 4 Attributes.  Tongue

Oh! I just had a thought: Would anyone in the group had the presence of mind to actually take a picture/video recording of either Deoxys or Jirachi? Terra got caught up in the trace, so it can't be him, but Nathan or Shiva could possible have the presense of mind to snap a few photos to back up that hitherunknown historical moment. As for Jirachi.....well, maybe anyone could have snapped a photo?

Huh....never noticed that change, tbh. Too clever for me by half, then!

Yeah the buff doesn't stack with any effect that grants the same bonus. It allows you the exact effect of Metal Coat while allowing you to benefit from another item - as long as the Held Item isn't Metal Coat again. So it's exactly how you assume it is.

The gift Jirachi gave was intended to change the recipient's Type. Humans don't have Types, but it would make sense for Terra to have a certain amount of literal steel now. I think the knuckle idea fits the feeling of this campaign better than abs of steel - that just seems campy.

As for Shieldon, no. You're in timeless mode until Nathan lets me know what threads he's manipulating. I'm saying NORMALLY you'll have already had a chance to make a capture before Nathan gets the power to threadify a Pokemon. This one was a special circumstance though. Does that make any sense?

For the Psychic Pokemon, just ask that in character if I don't get to it in the game thread.

It's just about how I wanted it to be!

Delivery was scary. First it was delayed by six hours...then they got up early and arrived on time instead.
The truck driver didn't think he'd make it up the hill, but he did.
Then he didn't think it'd fit, but it did.

It only took an hour longer to deliver than expected, and I even made it to rehearsal on time. It was a hell of a day!

I have to hire a plumber, but it's already wired for electricity. The biggest challenge is just meeting all the complex plumbing codes.

Gotcha! Thanks for the confirmation, mate!

Aww, that would have been a fun and funny trait for him to develop, but I understand that some things can be a bit TOO excessive. Nice to see that he can have organic metallic duster built into his fists now is a-ok, so I'll go with that trait besides the eyes! That'll give his punches a bit mores sting!

Nathan's choice has priority in this matter, and Terra nor the others can't make a decision regarding the Pokemon until it resolves? If that's the case, I got it loud and clear! We were going to let him pick which Pokemon he wanted to bring along anyway, so I guess it doesn't matter if Terra gets a shoot at bonding with the dinos or not ASAP.

Roger roger! One thing's for certain to me right now: Terra's going to be feeling rather off due to all the rapid fire changes/contact with Legendary Pokemon he's experienced. As a heads up for everyone, he'll probably request a group meeting to talk about what he 'learned' from his contact with the jello alien soon, since he'd like to both share his discoveries and would like to vent how strange it made him feel. Nathan and Heart probably would want to grill him about those details/his own health later anyway if they saw him get hypnotized, so this might save you guys some time too. How does that sound, mates?
