[Meta Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows

There are two conditions that need to be fulfilled for a distraction to work:

1) Your rolls need to work out for the actions you're dedicating rolls to.  If you want to try and distract an individual purely with speech, that'll require a dedicated action to attempt a roll using one of your Social Attributes and the Contest category.  (If you use a move that has that as part of its Accuracy roll such as Leer or Taunt, you can use that in combination with the roleplay to attempt a distraction).  Moves or combinations of actions that have a high impact might also shift focus depending on how large of a threat it's deemed to be by your target.

2) Your target needs to be in a distractible state.  I'm not going to say here whether he is or not, but I like dropping context clues for weird mechanics in fights like this (like beating the weaker Zorua in Chapter 1's boss fight being the key to freeing Machamp).  Use your knowledge of the Tornadus and Thundurus battles and any further clues I may have given, and you should be able to determine what Landorus is doing here as well.

A little update btw: I just found out from No One that he's been in the process of moving recently.  Explains his recent absence, though it would have been nice if he'd told me earlier (but given why he's moving, I can understand the lack of communication. I'll let him do the explaining if he wants cuz it's to do with his irl situation)

I am personally guilty of going MIA without notice for long periods of time as well, so I can't be too critical, but I do want to keep things moving here if I can.  If we're at a point where we're only waiting on him to provide orders and he's still busy, I'll consider autoing Daxter so we can keep chugging along.

EDIT: He may be back and able to post again in a day or three. Still prepared to auto just in case, though.

Okay then I have two questions:

1 - Kogeki is trying to act Tough and Bold in say those words in Landorus face, calling the Therian coward. What Social attributes I gonna need?

2 - Can you point what clues those is? Just to not delay this more than is already delayed. But if not okay, I will search later because I have some things to do later today. My time has been limited those days because of university.

1) Tough + Contest + Intimidate

2) If I did, it would completely break the mechanics of the fight.  Windos has a breakdown of notable mechanics and I corrected a few notable things he mentioned after the fact.  I will say that he did not nail down everything about how this fight will work, but he got most of it.

I want you guys to both succeed and pick up good habits for fights I might throw at you later, so I can only give you very minor help on things you've already picked up on.

I think it will not work. I literally one of the last in initiative. I was expecting be able to distract him before he begin it's turn. But if I use one of my actions to "distract" him, he will before me, cause damage, and will be a waste of action. Besides, my social attributes it's +7. Since it is a Legendary, it's probably have a big Will. So it will be a waste of time + Action.

I think I will just hit hard and pray it will hit something. No need to waste in actions specially in this fight. If I was first in the initiave, or a bit higher maybe I would spare a action in this situation. But since it's not I can't afford in do unnecessary actions.

I will confirm that distracting Landorus will not work currently, but it's not for the reasons you're thinking.

Refer to the bolded text where I state what Landorus is doing before the fight starts.

Speaking about No One being highly busy with moving, that reminds me that you haven't gotten to declare your actions yet either, @Lord Windos, dear - you think you can post these soon or at least declare them here in MetaThread if college's giving you a short breather in between? (Sending you a truckload of mental energy to continue pushing through it, I believe in u!)

@Spiritmon, if you're out of useful ideas as you state it, may I suggest going all-out with a well placed Single-Action of Feint? Lando appears to concentrate deeply to possibly lash out a big attack, so trying to break that focus with +2 priority on Feint sounds like a decent take.

Hmm you have a point. And Feint ignore barrier moves, so maybe it works?

Just a quick update cos I know I've been holding everyone up- really, really sorry about that.

I've been going through chemotherapy for breast cancer for the last six weeks, moved back home to India because healthcare is both cheaper (like a fifth of the cost in South Africa) and of a higher quality. I'm currently in the process of going through more cancer treatments and setting up my life here because I moved permanently (was gonna happen at the beginning of next year but given the circumstances, my girlfriend and I moved the schedule up) so I'm sorting out a place to live and stuff like that. I'm almost done with that so I'll likely be posting regularly again in the next day or two.
I'm no one special. Also, here's a pupper pic:
