You have to split the base XP up among all the Pokemon that battled (just like in the games).
So Poliwag is worth 2XP. Divide it by two and give this to both Pokemon (1Xp for Togepi and 1Xp for Ekans).
Ventus gets 1 XP from the battle.
Then you get 1Xp from day 1, then 1Xp from day 2!
But I never gave anyone Xp for game day 1 - that's why it's 2 today.

When we reach Ginger Town, I think I'll give you guys a trainer XP boost to let you round out your stats a little more, now that you know what gameplay is like. If you reach 10 trainer XP before then, you can use it to bring an attribute from a 1 to a 2. Skills like Fight only cost 8. Specialties (canalize, brawl) cost 6! So those are good investments for our new trainers.
I feel like I've passed an arbitrary experience point limit and gained more power!

Not quite what I was expecting, but eh... nothing I haven't seen. I mean I mentioned I played White Wolf's World of Darkness when I first brought up Pokerole, so this is bush league stuff really.
Vincent's already a walking bundle of stock noir character tropes with the brightness cranked up anyway.

I have some more question for you, Iron. Do we solely us our trainer's Attritube, Skill, and Specialty Points to determine a Pokémon's Accuracy Pool. and/or Damage Pool, or do we use our Pokémon's? If its the latter, how do we keep track of their Attribute/Skill/Specialty Points if there is nowhere to record them on the spread sheet?

Second tab on the sheet.

Pokemon essentially don't have Attributes or Skills or Specialties from the moment they are caught. From then on, they must rely on their trainer's skills at issuing commands.
However, if you have a Tyranitar and you want to move a heavy boulder, it's fine to look him up in the Pokedex and see what his own strength is.
A newbie trainer with 1 Strength commanding a Tyranitar is not going to be able to use Tyranitar's strength effectively in battle.

This is for your trainer's stats, yeah.
Also note that the second tab there automatically pulls some things from the first page, so you only have to change them in the FIRST page if you level up a skill or attribute.

Fair enough re-interpretation of the core rules on Stats, and it streamline things quite a bit. Thanks for answering all my stupid questions. Also, when I spend EXP on moves, do I substrate the amount the EXP the Pokémon has and add the Move to their Move Pool?

If a move is "level" 15, then you'd subtract 15 xp from your pokemon and add the move to their move pool.
Which I think is what you were saying.

@ Iron
I think Ventus might have mentioned joining Shiva on that berry hunt, right before the whole ekans eating poliwag thing. We should be able to get started on the next set of encounters if that's what he intends to do.
