[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole
... Meh... More problems... There goes Shiva's hope to make it to town as soon as possible, for several reasons.

Officiers? Chief Ranger? What... Nathan must have sent those. It must have something to do with that Pinsir, the Megastone and the Wizard they encountered in the woods. It's just logical. They would not want some questions answered if they were 'just' ought to search for them and bring 'em safely back to town. ... There must be more behind this.

Oh, surely she was worried, annoyed, tired and whatelse of all this... But she did not showed that on the outside. Better keep a confident attitude when around them. Now to think about it... This was rather serious... Maybe even more than the Wizard before Ginger Town. Just because now authority is involved.

... ... ... They only wished to as Ventus and Sage some questions, though. Lucky.

---------------
Mechanics:
I'll go after that elusive Fire-Type East of town as soon as we actually arrive in town then. For now, I'll just wait alongside the rest of Officiers as ordered. Nothing suspicious. Only talk when directly questioned.

"Mega Pinsir? I believe this is a different trainer, if you refer to the trainer one Nathan reported. This trainer had just a regular old Pinsir. He says he was pushed into a pond, his Pokemon bound, and lethal force was threatened before he managed to escape. He was unable to recall his Pinsir, but we now have it in our custody, I'm told."

And my name and rank is Chief Ranger Lumin, of the Fireweed District."

"So you say, Chief Lumin, but I have several witnesses with me that can verify that we fought a Mega Pinsir, and at the time of the battle we thought said Mega Pinsir had intent to harm or possibly kill us, so we reacted accordingly. As for being pushed into the pond, you will have to question the other man, as I was no way involved in that. As a matter of fact, I was going to stop him and inquire what he was doing prior to said act, but he acted too quickly for any action on my part," Ventus said, all in a calm and pleasing manner, totally unruffled by the ranger's line of questioning.

Hearing Lumin contradicting his own knowledge of the encounter, and the fact that he was getting...dubious vibes from the man, he had a feeling that the chief was in league with the vile miscret, or was under his control in some manner. Still, the situation can be negotiated peacefully, while he launches into his own investigations. Always be alert, and prepared for any misfortune that can occur.

"The trainer in question said that he was pushed into the pond, then when his Pokemon appeared to help it, you attacked it with an Arbok. He said you gave the snake permission to cause lethal harm. He said he himself was the target of a paralyzing attack. He said he did nothing illegal and never used a lethal move or a move on a trainer. He said he made attempts to withdraw his Pokemon which were denied. Is this true?"

(now Larry will leave)
(VBS is killing me with the way these children are)

Larry after catching up to the group (separation so he could think about it) Larry decided to leave the group but first Larry had to tell everyone "hey guys wait up I got to tell you something!" after getting everyone's attention and catching up Larry said "hey guys I'm leaving the group, some of my friends are coming to chesire and I decided to join them instead of staying with you guys, you guys are nice and all but the group fights A LOT and some of it is about me so i'll just leave but hey I might come back later and battle y'all every now and then" Larry soon looked at his pokedex

Larry pulled up a map leading to corsage port on "well I guess this is good bye then" Larry went up to Nathan and gave him a spare potion "Nathan take care of your pokemon and use this if you get in trouble" Larry went up to Vetus and said "Vetus my emotions are mixed for you but I will miss you" Larry then went to Shiva and told her "you where the only woman on this trip and I didn't treat you nice like V... no that's too much, I didn't treat you as nice a normal person would treat a woman and im sorry I hope you will forgive me for my cruel attitude and stuff like that..... well bye" Larry soon turned around and walked off waving to the group as he walked off on his way to corsage town

While Larry was waving and walking off Larry bumped in to Rachel as the two bumped in to each other Larry fell down with Rachel tripping over him Rachel lying down with her legs on Larry, Larry gets up to help her up "CAN WE REDO THAT!" Larry shouts at the group "ah never mind" and Larry soon turns to Rachel asking her if she was lost she replied saying yes and Larry soon gave her his pokedex while he started to fix hers and they walk off again towards corsage port

"My Arbok was attempting to bring the man ashore, Lumen, when he summoned his Mega-Pinsir to intervene and attack her. Instinctively, she decided to wrap around the potential threat and restrain it in an effort to protect herself, which I believe is a totally justified response. Since I was focused on supervising my Arbok in battle, I didn't notice anything unfortunate happening to that man, so I am sorry to say that I can neither confirm nor deny that he was paralyzed, officer.  As for the permission, I already gave my answer regarding that, so let us move on to other topics," Ventus said, still looking calm as ever despite Lumins attempts to box him in.

'Well, now I know he's trying to mislead me into my doom, but I have experience with the police, to his misfortune,' he thought, tilting his head inquisitively at Lumin, smiling widely at him. "After the battle, I had my Corsola dive down into the pond to find and bring him ashore, both to rescue him from drowning and question him as to why he attacked us so savagely, but she came back up empty hand. It appears, though, that the man somehow got out of the pond despite our thorough search, and was able to make it into town to inform you about us. Given that it took me a couple of hours to get to the medicine man's hut, I find it remarkable that he was able to contact you quickly enough to make a statement about us to you and your colleges. Its even more so when you factor in the time it would take for your group to start searching for us and coming up with questions. Perhaps you can enlighten me how you came to respond so quickly?"

"Restraining a Pokemon is perfectly justified. Using lethal force is not. Preventing recall is not. This may result in a sanction from the League, sir. Tell me in your own words why you thought the Pinsir was a threat, when by all accounts your party was the one who initiated the battle? What do you mean by 'attacked you so savagely'? The victim's account says your party pushed him into the pond and immediately began attacking, even before his Pinsir appeared."

He's taking notes.

"As for how I came to be here, I can't allow myself to be too sidetracked, but we received an anonymous phone call that someone had pushed someone into a pond unawares. We weren't sure if this was a childish prank or the start of something more sinister, so we started off. Then we received another call from the victim, and hastened as fast as we could on Arcanine. As for running into you, why, this is the only path from this part of the forest. Please, sir, this will go easier if you cooperate and do not cultivate a hostile attitude."

Letting out a good natured laugh, he just kept on smiling to Lumin. "Officer, as I said, my Arbok was attempting to rescue the man when he summoned his Pokémon to attack us, so I say that he was the one to initiate combat when it was unnecessary. As for the prevention of recall, the recall attempts where happening in the middle of a rather vicous battle. While I did notice them, I did not have enough time to order my Arbok to undo itrds wrap before the Pinsir was knocked out. I brought it ashore so that it would not drown in the pond, and as I said, I tried to search for its trainer to no avail. If anything, I would say that the Pinsir trainer was acting unresponsibly, a he attack us while we attempted to rescue him, and ran off without trying to verify whether or not his Pokémon was alright after battle," Ventus said, who was in total control in spite of Lumin's comments on his behavior.

"Concerning the matter of Lethal damage orders, I saw his Mega Pinsir attempt to suffocate my Arbok on two occasion. Once, when it clamped its horn around my Arboks neck to strangle it, and second, when it attempted to drag it underwater to drown it when its previous attempt failed. Now, I can excuse the first attempt, as it could have just aimed at a random area of my snake's body, but deliberately trying to drag down into the pond was not something I imagined. At that point, I felt that if I didn't do let my Arbok use her full power, I would be needlessly endangering her life, something I could not allow. I hope my explaination suffices, Lumen. I hate what I had to order, but I made a judgement call based on what I saw," the researcher said, putting the right amount of concern in his tone of voice. He want to make it clear that his group was the one threatened, so a littling acting wouldn't hurt to get the point across.

Tilting his head at the officer, he just gave his a worried frown, as if something bothered suddenly. "Since it was only my group around the pond, I don't see how someone was anonomously inform you about what happened, unless they were spying on us. Which would beg the question as to why they didn't intervene and help us rescue the poor man to begin with, instead of running off. In addition, since the man fell into the pond, any electronic devices on his person would have shorted out from prolonged contanct from the water, and from being shocked, if your claim that he was paralyze was correct, his electronic would certainly be non-functional, so I don't see how he was able to contanct you. Quite suspicious, wouldn't you say?" Ventus said, before reaching into his satchel and pulling out a cell phone.

"I never introduced myself now, didn't I? My name is Ventus, and I happen to be an important scientist on a diplomatic research visa to explore the region and study its Pokémon. During my time doing studies and field work, I have happened to make more than a few friends in the Ranger Union, some of whom rank quite highly in the organization. Now, since this whole situation has become so convoluted with contrary information from both sides that I can't tell what is real, I think I would give them a call and see what they have to say on the matter. They'll be able to sort this whole mess right away, and I'm sure they will quickly answer me, given my great contributions to their work in the past. What do you say, Ranger Chief Luman?"

"Sir, part of being a good trainer is recognizing a lethal attack. Pinsir's Bind is not dangerous. Nor is going underwater for an Arbok. Nor do I believe that a lethal attack from an Arbok is any more effective than a 'restrained' one. It is clear you acted recklessly even if what you say is true. If you cannot use your Arbok without 'restraining' her power, you cannot use an Arbok at all. Especially given this was a battle where your party outnumbered your opponent, it seems."

"I'm also very interested to know how the trainer came to need rescuing in the first place. He informs me he can swim and that he was paralyzed, which are easy to confirm."

"Then we have the victim's testimony, which conflicts with yours at major points. As for his phone, there are plenty of phones that can survive a brief submersion, including any Pokedex. Nor am I interested in providing details about a potential victim to his potential attacker."

"As for the anonymous tip, it happened and we have it on tape. Therefore I know for a fact there must have been someone else near you at the time, unless a member of your own party made the call, or the victim called to report his own ambush while he was in battle with you? Unlikely. Calling for aid is the correct response in that situation, especially as it seems that situation quickly escalated. Your attempts to shift the blame truly worry me, Mr. Zachariah."

"Rangers from other districts don't have jurisdiction here, of course, though you are welcome to contact anyone you wish as a character witness if you intend to take this to trial. I don't see how they would possibly know any more than I do about this particular situation."

"So, let's see. It appears I'm going to have to charge you at least for reckless use of a lethal attack. The other charges will require more evidence, but it might come to that anyway depending on the victim's wishes. He is entirely in his rights, given the unprovoked assault he describes. Now, in Creshire, you have the right to contest any charge in a courtroom, the nearest one being in Corsage Port. I'd be happy to advise you on the next step if you wish to take this route."

"Right now I am going to write you a ticket for reckless use of a lethal attack, or order thereof. The penalty is $3000. You have one week to pay this sum or file paperwork contesting it. May I see your trainer's license, please?"

Shrugging his shoulder, he just smiled at the Luman. "Seeing that I saw the person in question being pushed into the water rather violently, I thought it would be necessary for my Arbok to go help him, but it appears I was mistaken. Of course, since I didn't know about his ability to swim, I can hardly be blamed for trying to fulfill my civic duty in saving someone. As for Pinsir's attacks, you where not there to see just how brutally the Mega Pinsir conducted its action, and a powerful Pokémon such as it can surely put enough force in its actions for them to be Lethal. As for the victim's testimony, his claim conflicts with mine as well, I have multiple witnesses that can confirm what I say, and another friend of my was attacked by that very same trainer. I find it most troublesome that an officer of the law yourself, a normally fine standing man in the community, is assuming we are the guilty party, rather than maintain impartiality in such a case," Ventus said, still calm and smiling at the person, despite their attempts to rile him up.

"I'll also repeat that no one was near us at the time of the battle, but as I said, I am not ruling out someone else that was hiding around the pond. While calling was the right thing to do, I can also argue that not trying to break up the fight in the first place is also wrong. Still, I don't want to cause unnecessary trouble with the local Ranger Union, so I'll go to court in Corsage, and see if I can't wave this fee I am being charge with. As for the other charges, you will have to speak with the other man about this, as I was in no way involved in pushing the man into the water, nor assaulting him. I am willing to go to trail over this case, but not for actions I did not commit. I acknowledge my 'reckless' use of Lethal Damage, but I maintain that I was trying to rescue him from drowning when he attacked me without provocation," the researcher said, tilting his head at Chief Lumen.

"Of course, regardless of the outcome of this case, I will be sure to let the Ranger Union about how you handled this whole matter. While each branch of the Union operates semi-independently from one another, each of its members still have to answer to the leading authorities of the global organization. I'm sure they will investigate this matter thoroughly with the attention it deserves, and gather all the pertinent information they need to make a fair and impartial decision on your standing in the Union. I do hope you have a wonderful day, Ranger Chief Lumen," Ventus said, reaching into his bag to and handing him his Trainer ID. While he did get charged with a fee, he can argue his case in court. Worst comes to worse, he just has to pay for it, which should not be too difficult of a matter. Especially if he has his friend chip in to help!
