Well, what else was Nathan going to do after Pinsir was treated?  Sit around and twiddle his thumbs in the Center ?  He knew everyone was on the way back to town after getting questioned by the Chief Ranger.

Besides, if Ventus was headed to the Center, that's where Nathan would have been anyways if he hadn't been waiting outside.

Oh, and can we just assume that Ventus walked in and left his Pokémon to be healed before he engages in conversation, @Iron ? Normally I don't bother with the fine details, but I want my party healed while talking with Nathan, before I (or we, if he chooses to tag along) mess with the statue.

Buddy, that was YOUR mess primarily, not Nathan's.  Nathan's issue concerns the same trainer, true.  But The Rangers didn't know that when they set out for the medicine man's hut.  He'll gladly answer any questions they have for him, but that won't happen until they return to town.

Ventus is going to have problems giving information freely to the Rangers, since he doesn't trust them at all from what brief interactions he had with them. If Nathan decides to do so anyway, Ven is not going to inform him of anything beyond what he has told him already. He wants to minimize information leeching, so if building a wall between him and you chara is what keeps the group safe and sound...

Take your time, mate. I am in no rush to hear Nathan's comeback, and I'll wait as long as its necessary for you to make a reply that is satisfactory to you. Sometime you have to think things through, before you can put them into context.

@Dragonstrike : My my, all that time DID pay off, since you said the exact thing that was needed to disarm him of his notions: Kirlia's reading and how the Cheshire League stood in the world. I honestly expected things to get worse, but Nathan sure turned around things, eh?
