[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole
(06-09-2017, 08:35 AM)Nylon Wrote: Walking around town, Valder finally found Ventus. Ventus seemed quite... distraught though.
Valder got a bit nervous. He didn't know if he should maybe just turn around as if he wasn't there or if he was simply getting the wrong impression. 'Yeah, I'm probably just getting the wrong impression...'

"Ventus? So... I know I don't include myself a whole lot with the rest of you, but I want to know who Sage is. You up for a small 'exchange of words' or whatever you call it. Maybe there's something you would like to know. You seem pretty interested in the scimitars at least..."

Valder hoped Ventus would answer yes. Not so much because of Sage, more because he wanted to get the group more involved with the scimitars. Valder is also looking for a good place to buy potions.

Ventus didn't expect to see the Genesect reveal an secret entrance under the statue, but he didn't react in an extravagant manner at this occasion. All he did was just peer curiously down the stair located at the base of the Legendary Bug statue, his surprise restrain by the state of rage and despair he was currently mired in.

'So, the Burn Drive has reveled an entrance to these blasted arch mages lair. Hmm...I could go down there alone and brave its mysterious depth, but all that will do is make it far more liable that I get ambushed and spirited away by something down there. First, I need to gather my friend and inform them about my discovery, and get their perspective on how we should conduct our search before setting out. Since Nathan is the closet in the current vicinity of the statue, its best that he's informed first, even if we are both not in the best moods to speak with one another...' the researcher morosely though, still appearing distraught despite the happy smile that he was wearing. Perhaps his body language was sending of negative signals?

Just as he was about to depart to the Pokémon Center, Valder walked out of the shadows and began inquiring about his newest associate, in exchange for more data on the scimitars. That caused him to turn around and face his mercenary in surprise, before he quickly squashed it and rebuilt his happy, if serious, expression. "...I would be pleased if you had shared this information about the scimitars earlier, but that can be excused. Our first interview was not as pleasant as I wanted it, so its no surprise that you didn't speak your whole mind on that cabal of mages. Very well, in exchange for more information on Sage, tell more of your insights with that black, black group..." Ventus says, trailing off as he lecture Valder about what he is aware of the ill man, what he is capable of in so far as Pokémon battles, and the fact that he made off with the Mega stone.

Given the researcher's dire mood, any information pertaining to his arch enemies would help cheer him up to no end, and act as an bridge between him and Nathan.
(Essentially, Valder now knows everything that Ven knows about Sage. Now, let's hear your end of the bargain...)

*Flashing forward of Valder half of the bargain*

Ventus gave an firm nod at his mercenary, mulling over what he just heard. 'Perhaps its best I don't reveal this information to Nathan right away. It might cause the boy to go into another panic attack, something I that is NOT greatly desired at this junction of time. I'll just inform him about the statue for now, and get his opinion on what should be done from there,' the researcher though, before he went to the back of the statue and swapped out the Drives once more, concealing the stair way. 'The element of surprise is tantamount to successfully assaulting these wizards, so let the entrance remain hidden until we are ready to fight them on their own ground,' he though, before departing to the Center with Valder and Shiva in toe. Giving a slight double take at her appearance, he wondered just when she joined them.

'Most likely while I was distracted with the statue, and my conversation with Valder. She probably overheard everything that was said during that exchange, but no matter. She is the most dearest friend I have ever had in my life, so I trust her completely, no matter how she acts on that information,' Ventus though, giving the young lass a small smile before entering the Center. Upon a bit of wandering, he located Nathan near where that vile Pinsir was being treat. Restraining the rage he felt towards that insect, he informed the young trainer about the Genesect Statue, and waited patiently for his opinion on it.

(Well, now Shiva and Valder are updated on Sage and the statue, all that's left is to inform the group about the extant of his knowledge of Genesect...)

Oh... He didn't even notice her arriving... Hmm, not blaming. He was just too concentrated on the Genesect Statue with the hidden stairs and on Valder who expressed himself knowing about the Wizards. While this was a little unusual for Ven, she didn't mind right now, and was fine with just following on the conversation, listening carefully to not miss any bits of information about those people.

... ... ...

Ah, but as they departed from the Pokemon Center, then he noticed her. Well, as long as he was still able to give out smiles, it should be alright. Not feeling like talking right now...awaiting Nathan's opinion on the matter is it then.

(Sorry... I'm currently unable to write a more detailed post. Later, I might edit this.)

After about thirty seconds, the statues eyes have flashed their fastest and the statue moves back into place, concealing the staircase again. The red drive pops out, and a little chute opens in the ground to receive it. Ventus is just fast enough to catch the red drive before it falls into the chute.

'Oh. Oh, so that's how it is' Valder thought to himself. Valder got mixed feelings about Sage. He kinda liked him, but kinda found him... unsafe. That might be the thrill he likes about him, though.

Realizing Ventus was giving him a 'I-just-asked-you-something' look, Valder stopped pondering and opened his mouth.
"So, I said last time that I'd tell you what types of pokemon they prefer using. I never got the chance to do that. So. Scimitars, even though they don't spam pokemon like other team, they prefer to use psychic and steel-types".
Valder thought some more. "Oh. Did I ever mention the two groups scimitars are divided in?"

"Hmm, so they have a preference for those types. Interesting, considering how difficult those individual types are to care and raise, and even more so when you attempt to do so with both simultaneously. Perhaps due to their reliance on wretched magic, they have more time or resource to control their powers with minimal liability? As for the schism in the Scimitar, you negelted to inform me of this fact. Would you please elaborate on this, Valder?" Ventus responded, looking quite interested at the knowledge he was receiving. If they like to use Psychic and Steel types, he need a Dark on his team, like a Deino or Umbreon. The Scimitar beind divided into two faction was also intriguing as well, since that could change a great number of things!

As said before, Shiva listened with might interest, but prefered not to comment. For now. She realized that Valder didn't talk much, but if he did, it was something worthy of saying. A trait to be noticed and appreciated.

Psychic Types... Nothing she can do about that to counter them properly. Valder himself though, had a Dark Type with his Pawniard... As for Steel, additionally to Nathan's Ponyta, she just acquired a Fennekin, with a Fire-STAB right away. Getting it into the team soon enough would be a good idea... It'll also be helpful for the egg, indeed. She decided to withdraw the fox from the Center's PC before they decided to head down the staircase.

((/^_^)/ awwe! that made me happy!)

Valder had never experienced this before. This was the feeling of... of an autentive audience...? The way Ventus and Shiva seemed so interested was something that made Valder a bit excited. He had felt this before. somewhere. sometime.
Valder realized he was being immature and redundant and threw those thoughts back deep down where they had come from.

"Yes. The scimitars are divided into two factions. There are earth scimitars and water scimitars. I can't recall any big differences between the groups, but know that they're there".

Looking a bit surprised at that information for a moment, he quickly thought of the man who fell into the water. 'If their are two groups of wizards, earth and water, it would explain why he unable to drown in the water despite being paralyzed, and swim to safety. It also make that vile Bog arch mage's power make much mores sense : he was using both elements to create that wretched, nightmarish swamp to trap the foolish. The question remains, though, is why these wizards are not only causing such chaos in their actions, but how they gained such power in the first place. Just what are the Scimitar's goals...?' Ventus pondered, hand on his chin with his head tilted up in contemplation.

Looking back at Valder, he just nodded his head at them. "Thank you for the information about the Scimitars, Valder. It has been...enlightening to hear, and it will greatly assist us in coordinating our actions against them. While I am curious as to how you know all this, I will refrain from asking for now. We all have our demons, so I will not rile yours up as well. Now, if you don't have anything else to say, then let us depart to the Center, and update Nathan on the Statue and the Scimitars. Hopefully that helps his ailing mood right now..."

(Unless your chara has anything else important to say, I say its time to tell all our finding to Nathan! While we are on badish terms right now, Ventus still wants to keep him in the loop!)

Valder is ready to go and has no more to say (though I'll be going offline in about 15 minutes, and I won't be on again for some time)

Being so focused, Shiva picked up that Valder was enjoying the attention he was getting... Well, he surely deserves it if he can bring up such interesting and helpful information!

Earth Scimitars... Reminded on the book Shiva 'lent' from the Healer. But as far as she could tell, it had actually nothing to do with the Wizards. It just contained explanations and and described patterns, nothing that a vile magican could turn to his favour. But... seems like the Wizard they encountered just before Ginger Town belonged to this type then, if he was able to 'manipuilate the Earth', as Nathan once described.

Water... Did... that guy with the Pinsir belonged to them? Maybe...? Or... Ah, let's not take any conclusions yet that might turn out wrong.

Wondering whether there are Air Scimitars as well. Aether, maybe standing a bit above the rest of them. And Fire. Fire would probably be a dangerous subgroup...
