[Meta thread] Iron's PokeRole Adventure: The Skull Ruins
(06-10-2017, 01:39 PM)Iron Wrote: It's OK, but there's a few things I want to remind you of that Ventus already knows:

1. Creshire legendaries are often different. So don't be surprised if somewhere down the line, my account of Creshire Genesect differs from your Unova Genesect.

2. Don't expect to be able to be building Genesects - Ventus doesn't have anywhere near enough resources, and the very laws of physics differ in subtle ways here.

3. Creshire organizations have very little contact with outside organizations, and indeed would have physical difficulty doing so. So phoning up your old boss and saying "Tell these nonbelievers my notebook is real!" is unlikely to work.

For these reasons, there's no balance problems in Ventus' backstory.

As for having such a powerful notebook... the diary of Mew's creation was just left lying around in an abandoned mansion.

1. Given that 4 years has passed since Ven has had any contanct with Genesect, its only natural for them to have changed in that time span (Especially if they are being held captive by those blasted Scimitars...)

2. Ven may have been buddy buddy with Genie at one point, but that does not mean he wants to make more of them, if he could. One is enough in the world, thank you!

3. Considering what happens if it ever gets out that Ven shared knowledge on a Top Secret Government project about the legend, he won't be talking about Genesect with anyone besides the group atm. That, and he doesn't have the best relationship with his government anyway, for reason only you and I know right now.

Well, glad I didn't cross any boundries with you, Iron!

"Oh no. This won't take long, will it?"

Ventus just gives the man a small smile, before shaking his head in affirmation. Ariel, noticing that she was fighting a Bug-Flying type of all Pokémon, smiled deviously and let out a malevolent chitter. She liked battling, of course, but she will enjoy this one. Still, she though, it was better safe than sorry, so its steeled herself for combat, before she let loose a stream of Bubbles at the butterfly!

Order: Ariel will use Harden as her first action of the round, then follow up with Bubble attacks until she can't do them no more! If she somehow didn't get off the Harden, she'll just focus on using Bubble as much per round, then.

Moves

Harden
Accuracy: VIT (2) + Survival (3) - Consec. Actions (2) = Pool 3
Effect: Raise Def. by 1

Bubble
Accuracy: DEX (2) + Fight (2) + Channel (2) - Hustle (1) - Consec Actions (3 and 4) = 2 Dice on first Attack, 1 Dice on second
Damage: STR (2) + 2 + STAB (1) + Hustle (2) = Pool 7
Effect: *Lower DEX [ 1] 1*

Are you trying to do 3 actions in one round? You don't actually have enough dice. You have to subtract the number of actions you're doing, then -1 cumulative on top of that.

So your base pool for Harden is 5, then you'd subtract 3 for your number of actions, giving you 2 accuracy dice total.
Your base pool for Bubble is 5 after Hustle, subtract 4, 1 dice total.
Then the final one would be 0 dice, so that's not possible.

Hustle should only affect damaging moves, no?

Yep, but I allowed for that already.

While I was looking through the rule book again to pass time, I found something out about Consective Action in the newest addition of the rules. On page 51, it details that each action in a chain does have a set amount of accuracy subtracted from its pool.

The 1st action subtract 2, the 2nd subs. 4, 3rd subs 6, 4th subs 8, and 5th subs 10. No more than 5 consecutive action can be preformed per round. That is what I read, anyway.

They told me on the forums they were trying to streamline consecutive actions in many ways for the new editions. Unfortunately none of their changes would work well on an asynchronous game - like you no longer have to declare the number of actions you make at the start; you do it as you go along once you've said you're doing multiple.

But that's OK because I think their rules in 1.1 were easily adapted to forum play.

Welp, the Tournament had quite a troubled start for me since I had to wait a while for my first opponent for Round 2 – won Round 1, yay! - to show up, then both of us disconnected multiple times... But seeing my opponent being more experienced in Competitive than I am, I granted him the victory. Next, during battles of those who lost... the disconnecting started again... But it was fun while it lasted! My Eeveelutions surely had their fun as well. <3

@Iron, thanks for the reply concerning evolution! Hmm... Weird, the Corebook with Alola-Pokemon states that Fennekin evolves after reaching a certain level. Nevermind though, I downloaded the BlackWhite-Version to use the same like you do. Indeed, there it states my fox evolves by reaching a certain age, like in the image you showed – that surely changes the matter a little.

It's fine if the evolution to an elusive Fox Wizard takes a little longer, as long Shiva can to call it her own effort and has the fully evolved Form at some point during the campaign. Same with Azurill's evolution to Marril, and Abra to Alakazam. You bet she – her father most likely as well - will be proud as hell of such successes in the raising of Pokemon! \(^-^)/ I might speed them up by using XP as well and will message you in that case.

Back to RPing I go, though. Competitive playing is fun, but it's not completely my World. That is...apart from fun battles with dice rolls.

Oh! Windos, you want to trade Scyther? You were so eager to obtain it... But I see your reasons.

When I have a fine this massive, and the League not looking to kindly on my characters actions, I have to act against my interests sometimes. If I don't find anything I like on the board, then I'll either keep it and try my luck there, or sell it for money to pay off the fine. Its not like I could afford a Metal Coat right now, so that plan is bust.

Oh... Fair enough. Trying to sell it sounds good actually, but it's your call in the end.
I feel it might hurt Ven a little though to give his farewell to that Scyther, regardless of the fact that it practically slashed him. So in case he needs comfort, both of you know where to go~

I personally go and find Lumin to get rid of my fine.
