[Meta thread] Iron's PokeRole Adventure: The Skull Ruins
Insight is actually somewhat useful stat to have. It helps against the dreaded Slp status, and its great for picking information and details in environment and surroundings. It also makes it far less likely for you to be Ambush or for other being to try and sneak by your senses, and it could be used as a way of the DM handing you hints to a problem (Ala 'Eureka!' moment!).

If you are an empath like my chara, it also makes it easy to pick up the feeling and intention of people around you, and makes it borderline impossible to lie to them, since they have both the Insight and a literal view on your emotion to call you out on that. Its a surprisingly useful stat, if you focus on it quite a bit!

As for Ven's state of being, he can always meditate for a few hours to ward off the effect of Sleep deprevation. He's also used to staying up nights on end, due to being a Researcher that has put long, long hours on his work, and having to deal with his own emotional hiccups from time to time. Worst case scenario, Ven leaves town to camp outside the area of effect of the nightmares and sleeps for a couple of days, then goes back in to finish any other task they needed too!

Hey, that's actually a great idea!

Maybe if Nathan realizes he's getting hammered too hard by Sleep, Confusion, and Attraction, he'll work on developing Insight. Maybe.

It'd take at least one encounter slot to travel through the outskirts of the town and into the forest, though.  Good idea, but time consuming beyond belief if we do it with any frequency.

Yes, but considering that being in the town actively saps our Will, making day trips to town and then leaving it ASAP is better than eventually getting negs in Will. If that happens, Ven might commit suicide, or do something equally drastic and horrible...

Don't commit suicide! It's a waste of such a great character. Don't leave your family - his Pokemon - and friends beyond in mourn. Iron wouldn't allow this, I hope.

I said might, my love, and that only happens if Iron actually let Will values go negative... I just hope Iron doesn't keep on the Will Drain, or we may all just have an all around Bad Time.

Okay, I've been thinking about things.
If I would be allowed to see Strenght-Stat --> [Image: tumblr_oref9z0Ta71vh0d58o3_r1_500.png] more as Special-Stat --> [Image: tumblr_oref9z0Ta71vh0d58o2_r1_400.png], I would have no issues leveling up here beyond the current 2 points. Shiva is a Special Attacker anyway if taking a look at her team and their moveset, and therefor relies rather on hidden strenght than on actual physical power in general and in battle. Nothing will be changed upon the naming of Stats in Charasheet, nor will it effect dice rolls in any way different, it's just that I mentally swap the wording and description given for the various points of Strenght and Special (see page 23 + 24) and maybe match it a little to be a Trainer's Special instead of a Pokemon's. This way, I can still level up without feelings of it being out-of-my-character, while keeping Shiva physically weak and fragile like I created her. For example, even with a Strenght Stat of 3, she wouldn't be able to do any of the jobs in Wineberry Town that required this amount of points in Strengtht, simply because it's 'Special Strength'. Hell, she might even become a fearsome opponent if combining a high default-Strength with the battle strategy I am developing for her~

@Lord Windos and @Iron, does that sound agreeable and feasible? (Is it something like this when you said we were allowed to think outside the box? I enjoy customization as long as it does only affect me, after all...)

Strength in this game just describes your ability to get Pokemon to deal damage, basically. So you can certainly think of it as the Special stat for you. Others may think of it more as learning to strike precisely in an uncomfortable spot. A few people are just really good at picking up heavy things and so they know just how to teach their Pokemon to be strong.

It does double as the ability to pick up heavy things, but that doesn't come up very often when you have Pokemon!

The Fortune Hunter registers her phone number with you.

Will scores only go negative during very unusual circumstances! And proper rest can build up your Will reserves, so if you get dangerously low you can simply retreat and come back.

A drink full of protein is not the same as a Protein. But if a protein shake is the final straw that brings your character to a higher Str score, then so be it. It will cost full XP, but also won't count against your vitamin limit!!

I believe the term you are looking for is 'Latent Power' or 'Intrinsic Power', which basically is inner strength that can't be expressed unless under dire conditions or strenuous training on the part of the person. Given that Pokémon in this campaign literally draw their power from their trainer (Mechanically speaking, don't know how that works in game/story wise), Pokémon drawing STR your chara necessarily can't would be a valid work around to prevent her from becoming MEGA BUFF! on the group's journey. That, and given her somewhat fae and mystical natural, having that form of STR would make a bit more sense than for Ventus or Nathan. Its ultimately up to Iron, though, if he'll allow such a thing.
