If Ven was trying to soothe any feelings of fear or - for now - disconsolateness, it wowrked to some degree, and she couldn't hide that faint blush coming due to his soft touch and warm smile + words. They were still not more than close friends though.

She also picked up feelings of...disappointment(?) coming from Nathan. Huh, why? Wait a minute... Of course. What is a touch hero without audience that was cheering for him? Well, she missing his first Gym Battle back then in Ginger Town was both their fault, since she had work at the Daycare and he ran off to the Gym before any chance to voice the wish to see the battle. This Gym Battle, it were the circumstanced about the Gym that made her better stay away from it, it had nothing to do with she wouldn't want to watch his battle. Let's...await Ginger Town then...

I bet the kind of Togekiss would dislike the atmoshpere in the Gym. Now to think about it, Raphael might dislike the whole city for obvious reasons, so maybe he won't be able to give his best in battle, even if encouraged to do so... I'll be running around in the city anyway, and sweet Togekiss doesn't deserve being stached onto PC just because the circumstances are hindering him. If you'd like, I can take care of him meanwhile..."

You make your way to the manor that functions as the gym. A figure is in the mist atop the cast iron balcony to the rear. He disappears as you approach the big wooden doors, toughened with age. Leering faces are carved onto its wood, so real that Apsis Leers back.

There's a big iron knocker on the door. When this is slammed down, twin torches light up and the doors open on their own, allowing you into the lobby.

The floors of the lobby are marble, but the center holds a pool completely covered in wood made to appear like boardwalks or docks. There are antique armchairs and cushioned benches placed around the edges of the room, as well as a handful of Pokemon-style beds (almost like a dog bed). There are doors to either side, presumably leading deeper into the manor, but your gaze is drawn to another door in the opposite wall, styled much like the entryway. It's the only door on that wall, and it seems to receive or draw in all the shadows from elsewhere in the room. The floor turns to boardwalks again at this point, an unusual feature in such a grandiose mansion.

There is a large chandelier on the ornamented ceiling, dripping with crystal. Gas lamps adorn the walls, flickering with blue light. To the best of your knowledge, these are ordinary lamps...but one never knows. There are also candles, dripping black or white or golden wax onto mantels and end tables. Altogether, they provide just enough light to see by, but they send a great many shadows dancing across the big open room, moving as candlelight flickers or as you shift awkwardly in place.

A man dressed like a butler comes to receive you, though you notice he has six Pokeballs at his belt. "Have you come to challenge the Gym Leader of Corsage Port?"

With nary a moment of hesitatation , Ventus flicked his hand towards the floor , and out came Raphael in a burst of light . The archangel settled on the ground with an air of natural grace , and pivoted on thier feet tolook at thier master inquisitively . " My beloved Raphael , In going to be challenging the Gym today , but our friend Shiva will Not be able to accompany me . She is going to run some errands around town , and she requested you journey with her on her tasks . Corsage may chaff at our sensibilities , butsheneed s someone capable as you to guard her travels . Can you do this for me , my archangel ? "

Raphael gives a happy , yet serious chirp , saluting thier master with the tip of thier wing . They will help thier father nice lady friend out , and help being them good cheer and not ! The woman deserved it , for being so kind to them and thier father !

We wish to prove our strength and dedication towards caring for our Pokemon by fighting Mr. Chuckles . Though , before I make a formal challenge , may I inquire as to whether the Gym Leader accepts double battles? I am capable of facing them on my own , but I would like to assist my friend here if at all possible .That , and we often preform better together than apart . "

The empath was unfazed by the dower , gothic setting of the Gym , but he had his senses sharp and trained for any abnormality present in the room . Apsis , who had forced her way out of her ball upon ariving at the Gym , look suspiciously at the flickering shadows , letting out a low , displeased hiss . The place have even a mighty Arbok such as she creeps , so she didn't want to be taken off guard by anything that might lurI in the dark ...

Ventus looks over to his friend Nate , who seemed confused over his sudden declaration for a double battle , and gave him a small smile .  " I know that , while its certainly possible for you to achieve victory alone , having our own Pokemon help assist each other would greatly increase our odds of victory . We don't exactly have any ace in the holes to take out his Ghost s , but by working together , we should overcome that hurdle. What do you say , my friend ? "

When the butler mentioned that Chuckle had been in a coma ( or what sounded like one ) , the empath frowned , looking somewhat troubled by the news. Where they too a victim of those abominable dream demons ?  " Oh dear ... I do hope they are alright . If they are too I'll to properly face us , we can return to challenge them another time . "
