You move on. The tunnel spills out into a big room, filled with bunk beds, wardrobes, and a small kitchen. All empty, and looks like it's been empty for at least a week. There's enough beds here to house 24 people in cramped living conditions.

There's a little radio, tuned to a Pokemon Lullaby station.

There's another untrapped light switch here too, according to Porygon2.

Searching the wardrobes, you discover spare robes like the ones worn by the wizards, and a few other items of clothing. No valuables seem to be here at the moment. At the back of one tall wardrobe, Lucifer scratches at some wooden paneling.

There are two doors in the room other than the doorway you came in through. Both unlocked.

(Ohhh, I can sense what's coming since we found free robes - Shiva is VERY down with that. Sounds fun! Sorry, I don't have time for a detailed post right now, in a little more than half an hours I have. Leaving things to the others so long.)

Ventus, contrary to most of the group's expectations, took a complete set of Scimitar clothing for his own use, and put on one of the robe to conceal his own form. When he got weird looks from the rest of the group, the researcher simply shrugged and said: "If we disguise as the enemy, any other guards or reinforcements might mistake us as one of their own. Hopefully long enough that we can either evade them completely, or get the chance to surprise attack them while they are stilled fooled. At the very least, I can pose as a guard escorting prisoners or informants elsewhere in the base..."

Lucifer's inspection of one of the bigger wardrobes caught the researcher's attention, and he went over their to check it out himself. His drake is not one to be distracted by something, unless it was golden treasure or something equally important! "My little devil, do you think that something is here in this wardrobe? Hmm...it appears normal, but looks can be deceiving..." the empath thought, knocking on the wooden paneling and fiddling with it to see if it was hiding any secrets!

Whether or not that turned pay dirt, Ventus returned to the group with his Niobat resting on his shoulder, both looking calm and composed (And curious in the little devil's case). "We have two way forward to go, my friends, so which way should we head off too? Valder, can you return Froakie and send out Ghastly to scout out both pathways, so that they can alert us as to which is the more dangerous/suspect pathway? I do not like going in blindly to any situation, so can we delay moving forward until then?"

Ventus discovers a way to bring the wooden paneling loose, exposing an extra compartment. Within, is a yellow Drive, a bit darker and much more complex than the one the Mayor was so proud of.

Gastly goes scouting. Through both pathways, he found human threats. He seems to think the left pathway is decidedly less dangerous.

Whether or not that turned pay dirt, Ventus returned to the group with his Niobat resting on his shoulder, both looking calm and composed (And curious in the little devil's case). "We have two way forward to go, my friends, so which way should we head off too? Valder, can you return Froakie and send out Ghastly to scout out both pathways, so that they can alert us as to which is the more dangerous/suspect pathway?  "Yes, boss".
 While Valder was sending out Ghastly he looked at the scimitar outfit Ventus was wearing. 'If the trousers don't have any logo or other sign on them, I'd like to get a pair of those. They're better than the ones I have now...'

  The Scimitar Pants were obtained!

  Valder put the Scimitar Pants in the Key Items pocket.

Whoahw... After all that darkness in the corridors it was a little unexpected (or not, actually) to find something that strongly looked like a dorm to Shiva. Indeed, after hitting the lightswitch as soon as Porygon2 assured that it was safe to do so, the Scimitars seem to live down here. However, the dorm looked way more friendly and comfortable to her that she might have expected.

Ventus didn't received a weird look from her though, since Shiva did just the same: Put one one of the free robes and conceal herself as one of the Scimitars! Looks like blending in them and infiltrating is it, which was actually quite much to Shiva's taste. Way better than swarming/stroming the enemy and risk failure of their mission, now that they reached relatively far without huge hassle. However, her voice would reveal her, but since she spotted an assortment of make-up while searching the wardrobes, she doubted the Scimitars were a male-only alignment. Kyuu was staring at his...'Master', wondering what just happened, and gave a concerned chirp at her. Shiva responded by picking the psychic cat up and holding it close to her, as earlier. "No worries, it's still me. The Scimitars have a faible for Psychic and Steel Types; while I lack Steel, I have you as a perfect addition!~"

She then stepped closer to Ventus, who was staring at something that looked like... She spoke to him in a slightly awestruck voice. "Ven... Do you think it is what it looks like... a Shock Drive? "

The somewhat eccentric/mad researcher stared at the presence of yet another Drive in the Scimitar Base, this one being a Shock one in particular. He then let out a discontent sigh, before he patted Lucifer's head for a job well done, before extracting the Shock Drive from the compartment and placing it in his satchel, along side the Burn Drive, and then replacing the loose pannel. 'I am surprised to a find a Drive her of all places, but not that those vile archmages had it to begin with. Why in Reshirim's name are they interested in Genesect, enough to replicate this technology for their own use. If they have access to such advance technology and magics, why bother with a Legendary that could destroy them all if given half the chance?' Ventus thought, before shaking his head and heading back over to the group.

Ghastly report and indication of human on BOTH paths discomforted him greatly, but the spector indicated that the left pathway was safer of the two ways forward to proceed, relatively speaking. "Well, Ghastly said that both pathway have human guards, but they said that going left would be the less hazardous of the two options. Are their any objections to heading that way first, or any reason we should go to the right instead?" Valder concern for new legging got a nod from his employer, with him motioning towards the warbdrobes. "If they have any logos on them, I can always cut them off or have them burnt off with Haniel's Ember, so go ahead and better equip yourself, my friend."

At Shiva's question/quiet exlaimation, he brought out the Shock Drive for everyone to get a proper look at, before stowing it away once more. "Yes, I am afraid it is. That makes two Drive in our collections now, which suggests that these abominable Scimitars have completed at least one full set of them by now. I don't know what their designs are for these devices, but I believe rather strongly that its nothing beneficial to either us or the Cheshire region at large..."

"Oh, human guards...? Well, eventualy we would have to run into them... However, Ven, since we're disguised as members of their own pack and don't act suspicious, we shouldn't have bigger problems with them. Unless..." - Her expression faded somewhat - "Unless they desire a special password, code or card to pass..." Instinctively, Shiva placed Kyuu up to sit on her shoulder instead for the sake of having her arms free and searched the pockets of her robe for anything into that direction. Would be better to have it on-hand right away if they ask to see it...

At that point, she also realised something. Ventus hated these Scimitars, and now looked like just one of them. This was actually not the place or situation for something like this, but nevertheless she found that thought quite hilarous and had to take efforts not to laugh.

As he brought out the Drive to show, Shiva looked at it with a mixed expression and feelings, before handing it back to him to pack it away securely. "They can be real, or very good fakes... Whatever it is, take good care of them, Ven. It's definitely better that WE have them instead of the Scimitars, although we cannot know what they're up to..." ... "Oh, and I'd prefer to go left first, since Ghastly has chosen that one as the less hazardous. "
