Man, I'm REALLY looking forward to Solomon's first battle.  Going into the battle with 1 Loyalty and 2 Disobedience might not be fun, of course, but there is an upside to it...

Orthros is finally going to get that third Loyalty point soon!  Hooray, I'll finally be able to use him without the fear of causing a mass panic if he disobeys!

All things considered, Orthos might still cause a panic/stirr despite being perfectly tame, due to is nature as not only a somewhat ghastly looking Delta version of an already intimidating species of Pokémon, but also its nature as a Nightmare Beast. Ventus and Shiva will certainly not like it one bit regardless of how you introduce it to them, and given the researcher black mood concerning your character, seeing the Houndour would likely set him off again, and DEFINATELY would cause problems if the boy decided to reveal it to Shiva.

Honestly, the main concern with that when it comes to the public is confined to those who were in Corsage the night the nightmare struck, and is what I was primarily referring to when I mentioned 'mass panic'.  Absol cause quite a public stir too, but it's fine for Nathan to use Calam (who's also particularly intimidating) as long as he behaves himself.  Which both of them are very much aware of.

No, its not, but neither is it fair to force Shiva and Ventus to have to be confronted yet again with something that was quite literally out of their nightmares, and that tried to either hunt them for sport or worse. Both my character and their's have a very good reason not to want to have anything to do with it, and in Shiva's case she would probably start having doubts and misgivings about the boy again for harboring something so provocative/dangerous in their eyes. At this point, my character also doesn't really care to keep his word about having a open mind towards the Delta Species, and summoning relatively soon in time would only widen the gaps between them, perhaps even permenantly if Shiva REALLY reacts badly to it.

Its the catch 22 of owning Orthros: You have what is considered both in and out of game as a rare, powerful and unique varation of an already cool Pokémon, but almost everyone else in the group either hates/loathes it, and its unlikely that is going to change in the near or far future. About the only person right now that would give a chance to the hell hound would be Heart, and that might change if Ven cares to inform them his views/encounters with the species.

Or Ventus could pull a Uber Valder and just simply stay in a state of semi-permenant detachment from the party if Nathan gets on his nerves or cross their boundries one to many times, and just only periodically pop back in to check on how Shiva and Heart is doing. Showing off Orthros to him now might not push him to that point, but every little bit counts in the end...

Most likely when you have A) Resolved things Successfully with Ventus so that he no longer is apathetic/spiteful towards your character ,B) while Shiva and the researcher are surrounded by their strongest Pokémon as both a form of protection and message to the devil dog, plainly telling it that they will broke no mischief, trechory, or antics towards them or others, and C) At a moment in time when revealing the beast doesn't compound existing worries/fears. As for a compromise, though, I would be extremely happy to hear of a way to actually introduce Orthros to the party without a meltdown happening! I don't have one myself, though, since I just don't know where to begin on that...

Nothing says you can't] use it, it just that you can't use it around either Shiva or Ventus  if they are not busy/distracted by something else, which both me and Phantom can contrive a reason for. That, and the main reason I'm cautioning against revealing Orthros right now is that it will cause more problems than not in the short and long term, and nobody want the party at each other's necks....or your character's.

Quite frankly, my current plan is try to get things to the point where Nathan can at least show Shiva the dog means zero harm to her (Starmie and Calam being the safety nets in all likelihood, even though Nathan has no reason to distrust Orthros at this point.  I'm also hoping that Nathan's very, very honest appreciation has helped get a little closer to that...), and then trying to integrate him into everyday stuff so everyone can get used to him being around.  Nathan as a 'pack leader' is certainly very different from a Mega-Houndoom that's feasting on negative energy.

Maybe a demonstration of his obedience in the Little Cup would help as well?

Of course, Orthros will never really get along with Ventus due to my character's acts of brutality against his old pack mates, which will likewise mean at best my character only just barely kindly tolerates them unless they suddenly decide to take a liking to him.

That would most likely be a great big help, though Ventus might not be around at the time if he has other matters to look into, or information he needs to gather to sate his own curiosity/suspicious on Almanac and other topics...

Good.  Because that's always been my plan concerning Orthros's reveal, so...

I kinda hope Ventus eventually comes to understand that Orthros isn't behaving like he's still in Houndoom's pack.  From what little we've seen of Orthros around Ventus so far...he's scared.  Definitely angry, but mostly scared.  I don't think Orthros is the one who'd be making the first move towards a less tense relation.

Well, it's not going to be the last opportunity to show Nathan's got a handle on this thing.  You can look forward to him being around a lot to make up for him being cooped up in his pokeball all day for...almost two weeks now.  Yeah, he's been with us for almost half of our journey so far, and I'm only just now able to use him...

How many encounter slots has Nathan used so far for Day 30? 1 or 2?

I'd actually argue for revealing the Delta Houndour to Shiva (the group?) as soon as even possible, @Dragonstrike. Before Little Cup happens, though maybe not during the current in-game day to allow her to keep the day in mind as a pleasant day. Reasons:

- To have that point off the mind, since you want to use him and he'll obey if orders match his nature.

- At this point/the current situation, waiting longer won't soften the blow for Shiva in any means. At best, it'll only make it worse since the bonds with Nathan are yet so fragile - See it as something like 'I care for you, I desire to be honest with you' from his side? The more she cares for a person, the higher is the fall when that person hurts her. Maybe anyone remember how badly she coped when Ventus left her alone after he felt like she badmouthed Nathan in front of him?

- STAB-SE-Bite from her Poochyena (Crunch if he ever evolves!) sounds good to keep Orthros away from her when she feels it comes too close.

Of course she'll have a hard time at first and stuff, rely on Ventus having her back, be terryfied by Orthos and likely be subliminally scared of Nathan until he REALLY showed he has it under harsh control and enough time has passed - But when shall it be done when not now?

Luckily she got the message why Nathan assumingly seems to care for her, and keeping everything in mind - maybe not on her own, but her Pokemon are there to remind her on it via that Destiny Knot - I can say that it won't count as 'You hurt me deliberatly. Fraud! o(TヘTo) '

She might still need a new dream catcher or the materials to craft one again, @Iron.
