In that case, Ventus might treat Orthros even more negatively, because if Yena, a Dark type Dog Pokémon known for its loyalty to potential pack mates, doesn't like or trust it one bit, then why the heck should he give it any more leeway?

Yena, as a buggish Dark type, would feel very superior to and unthreatened by a psychic type.

Unlike a Kirlia, a Poochyena's loyalty is all about protection and hunting and pride. A subtle emotion like dislike or an unsettling feeling wouldn't really matter to it.

If Orthros ever threatened Shiva, that loyalty would kick in instantly.

That means, if I handle that Poochyena like a prideful being *stops carrying him*, help him train his biting or even would hunt with him once or twice, the bond to him can be strenghtened? Neat.

I highly doubt Orthros is going to come across as threatening.  Ideally, I want him to be friendly towards Shiva, so there shouldn't be any reason for Yena to be aggressive.

Ventus is another matter, but I expect Orthros is just going to be a little too afraid of him for the time being to really act threatening.

Oh, it better fear and respect Ventus, after he and his Pokémon murdalated his packmates rather handly , if you catch my drift! He'll brook no threat for it at ALL towards his person or Shiva, so it best be on its best behavior!
