[Meta thread] Iron's PokeRole Adventure: The Skull Ruins
(11-09-2017, 01:53 AM)Lord Windos Wrote: My character would counter argue this by claiming that Nathan + Him could have easily mass attack and knocked it out, before balling it, placing it in the PC where it would be digitized and placed in stasis, get in contact with Mallorn/his research friends and have them make the preparations BEFORE directly arranging Orthros to be transported to secure holding directly (Likely with a  PC set up in the specialized containment cell, with Pokémon on standy to disable/knock it out if need be). They could have done it in a private room quickly and efficiently, Nathan would get recognition and a nice reward for his discoveries, and neither Ventus nor Shiva would have to suffer the presence of a species that could have easily killed them if fate decided to play out differently.  Or Nathan could have directly put the dog in his PC, kept it in the dark until preps were made, and then give them away without letting on, if he wished for the non-violent approach. At least, that is how my character will present his story. He'll also be rather upfront about not giving a damn as to what ultimately happens to the dog, so long as its out of his/her hair and no longer presents a problem to anyone else. More ammo for my character to gun down Orthros/Nathan's image, at any rate.

Again, Orthros is a Psychic type, and a pack animal at that.  He'd likely know something funny is going on before it even occurs, and vanish the moment things started going sour, he determined Nathan didn't have his best interests in mind, or realized he wasn't with his original 'pack' any more.

The other thing is that PCs aren't purely digital storage in this campaign.  The pokemon is sent off somewhere else to receive basic levels of care, which Mallorn alluded to at the very, very start of the campaign when he gave Larry that password for Mallorn's PC.  If Nathan was neglecting Orthros, there'd be plenty of opportunity for him to leave.

Its not like Psychic types can't be blocked from reading a person's mind/emotions, as Iron demonstrated with Kirlia trying to get a read on Ventus during their first night/'trade' of Solomon, especially with another Psychic to provide interference/background noise to block out snopping dogs, but were are getting a bit sidetracked here by the finer details of things. Point is, Ven's going to poke at that missing thread HARD.

Ventus wouldn't know or assume this, since as far as I am/him were aware of, PCs universely operated in the same manner throughout all regions of the world, and since Unova digitizes their own Pokémon, that is his frame of reference. If brought up, he'd likely be a bit baffled as to why Cheshirian would waste resources like that when instead digitization is both cheaper and more effective at not causing resentment to form in Pokémon.

One thing to mention then if you're going to bring that up: Nathan is usually terrible at hiding his emotions if he feels bad or resentful about something (Ventus, Almanac, and matters concerning Mesprit are exceptions because he's determined to NOT lose his cool lest he blow things so hard, it's irreparable).  And considering he'd be betraying Orthros's trust, there'd be no hiding that from the doggie.  At all.  Packs are reliant on that whole trust aspect, so if it's not there...*poof*  He'd be gone in an instant.

Answer is in what you just stated: it's Creshire.  And considering the PC is still labeled as Bill's PC instead of with some manager/secondary developer's name like in most regions not named Kanto and Johto, the man himself is likely somewhat involved in how Creshire's system works too (the super duper basic care is still machine based, after all).

There, enjoy Shiva's reaction.

'This is probably a lot like Ventus' senses'... How clever, Iron. I thought Shiva would 'only' be able to understand what her own/otherwise familiar Pokemon are telling, but if you want to go that route instead – appreciated by both me and character~ Or is it only a one-time event? o.o

Well, I think tell Shiva "Ventus murder a bunch of pokemon" wasnt a good idea. Shiva is quite sensitive about this type of topic. You simple could say: "He neutralize the delta Houndoom." Or: "He stop them." Or simple dont tell anything. This will simple create more and more conflict between them, and Shiva have doubts and bad feeling towards Nathan AND Ventus. That was not indeed a wise move Dragonstrike...and Shiva might be feel guilty to know Ven kill pokemon to save her. Sometimes ignorance is a bless.

Nathan's telling it how he knows it.  That's all.  Nothing more, nothing less.  And Nathan is very, very, VERY sensitive as far as this topic is concerned.  Much more than anyone else currently.

Ignorance is bliss sometimes, but that wasn't the first time Ventus did/threatened to do something like that.

I modeled this PC system on the one in the anime.

These particulars are because of Orthros' special ability, but as you level up Insight and Empathy there's no reason you shouldn't surpass Ventus at his own game if you choose to go that route.

Well, if a viper bites you, and she someway feel wants to stay with you, what is the resolve? Three options: Abandoned the viper in the same she is. Send to some especialist to take care of her. Or kill her to not cause problems. Now imagined a viper who can travel not only in real world, but in the dream world. A creature who can kill you even if you are sleeping. That doenst fritght you? I can undestand why Ventus do what was necessary to protect what his care: His friends and the other people of the town. Even Heart agree with Ventus in the case about Tangrowths. Heart dont like kill pokemon, or any living thing, but if something is dangerous to people, is better stay away or dead. He is a Pokemon Rare Collector, but not a reckless one.

Ah , people can become empaths too, eh ? Well , Ben may be surpassed one day , but he still has a life long experience dealing with his 6 TH sense at the very least !

@Spiritmon Nathan would argue to reform the viper , and most likely point to Apsis as an example if that specific anology was brought up .
