Nope, there is no avoiding the swamp unless you can Fly or are traveling on Route 10.  Arrowroot is completely surrounded by swamp (remember, there's a map of Creshire on page 1 of the Game Thread for reference).

I'm going to abstain from making a post on this issue until Phantom returns and voices their opinion on how they want to proceed things, as I'm 50/50 split between forging the swamp for speed/Rare Pokemon and a longer journey/safer and more comfortable travels. Also, did Apsis get her 2 Training Session she needed to learned Poison Fang during that 2 hour flight through the divide, Iron?

Oh right, Training Sessions during the two hours on Metagross through the mountainside... Hmm, since there might be a set of Encounters incoming regardless the path we'll choose(?), I'll hold back with spending an Encounter Slot for now. If it turns out no Encounters/none that I'd like to take on, I'll simply flashback to training if that's okay.

Welp, I hope we might find a Muk in the swamp. Here in Brazil we have a "toy" called amoeba, and when I was young I used to play a lot. If I find one I will called him that.

Well, we've already seen a Grimer on the outskirts of Corsage, and Koffing, Weezing, Exeggcute, and Carnivine in an unnatural swamp.  

Oh, and there's Mudkip and Quaqsire in the Hog Potato Swamp as well according to the map key.
