Ventus has worked with disobedient Pokemon especially during his studies at Castelia City's University, so asking him would be an idea too.
Also, clever call on merging Valder's Training with Nathan's introduction of new Pokemon, Iron.

Yeap, asking Ventus for advice on how to deal with Scyther would be an excellent idea, but he'd just give you the same advice he'd given to you about Poison types if you brough Nidorino to his attention. His advice would mostly entail getting it a Metal Coat ASAP to lower its aggressiveness down, but to appeal to its base instincts and viscous nature by letting it hunt to its heart's content whenever possible, and respect it at all times so as not to be sliced and diced. Having Aron out as well to act as a buffer between you and them would also be something he'd advised as soon as you got its Disobedience in order.
Also, are you going to flashback to Nathan's intro for Masq, or are we going to let Valder be the one to stumble upon the shiny birdy?

Well, Valder's falling victim to the initial reveal now that he's stumbled on it. I'll figure out what to do with everyone else in a moment.

Well, maybe heart would let Scyther in his form for now for two reasons: To act as counter against Claydoll (since Ground dont hit fly) and to get some neat moves from his previous form.

Yes, Flying is immune to Ground, but Bug/Flying is also 4x weak to Rock Slide and Ancient Power. Gotta keep coverage moves in mind too.

Does Ventus/Shiva get to see Masq before he dives for cover in the flowers? If so, Ven's going to be quite intriguied by your newest addition, but will still keep mum about his thoughts besides some perfunctory congradulations. Otherwise, he don't give a darn!

With 4 Insight and Masq being out at the end of the day when Nathan is getting him acquainted with Kirlia and Yule, I think Ventus and Shiva would notice before the day's over.
Side note: Nathan also has all 6 of his pokemon out at that point, so I think the two of them might be pretty happy to see Orthros isn't among them.

In that case, I'll type up a quick reply on this, THEN the new day can finally dawn for us. Unless Spirit desires to reply to Shiva on her showing him a picture of these Mega-Eevees, but that can be flashbacked if desired.

Alright, I'll have him notice Masq and the lack of Orthros in your party in the morning then, once he has some rest and has the chance to process both these events in full instead of being caught up in other business/socializing! Ventus won't be too happy that Orthros is gone, though, since he knows its only a matter of time before he's back into your party, but at least he'll be at more ease with the chance of interacting with the dog gone with the wind for the moment. That's something, right?

Right, we are assuming Insurgence is set in the future. I'm not even sure the cult stuff would have come into public knowledge yet.

Note to self: don't let the guy with 2 Insight, 1 Survival, and 0 nature forage for the entire party in the future.
