The Bonfire is still burning merrily, but there aren't as many people sitting around it as at night.

The food right now is big slabs of some fleshy root. It smells great and looks even tastier. Some people are roasting it on sticks, some directly on coals.

The big drums have all been put away, but someone is playing a three-note whistle and another man is leaning against a Shamisen, listening.

The researcher, who had been silently enjoying his dearest friend's company while trying to clear his mind from the recent surge of odd/out of place emotion and enjoying the Bonefire with her, was unpleasantly surprised when her fire fox decided to take all its hatred and focus it squarely on him. Quickly a stoic look of marked displeasure took the place of the smile that so often adorned the empath face, and Apsis Pokeball was already in hand as he turned to face Braixen, his countenance and body language entirely unamused. "Dear Braixen, I do not know why you harbor such resentment towards myself, but I do know that acting upon it in any way will have..... most unfortunate consequences for the both of us. Do you understand? Neither of us want to cause Shiva untold harm or discomfort, now do we?"

THIS was something Shiva didn't miss either. She didn't really knew why her dear magical fox has developed such a poisonous relationship towards someone she liked and cared for, but asking questions and finding out why was something she rather restrained from. Instead, she rather chooses to adapt to this and prevent things from getting heated, literally and figuratively.

"Do forgive me for my obvious mistake, Braixen. It was foolish from me to not keep some distance between this person and you, please let me fix that... I'll recall you into your Pokeball, alright? Feeling such hatered is poisonous for your dormant psychic powers, please enjoy and recover from this in the safety of your Pokeball. I'll make up for this to you later, alright?"

How sad... Shiva was actually looking forward to have her magical fox chant and howl to the tune of the Shamisen. Seems like this is just not going to happen.

Swiftfire gains 3XP. Nathan gains 1XP.

(and 33 of the accumulated 34 exp is getting spent immediately on...)

Poison Jab is great and all, but Swiftfire thinks fire is WAY more fun.  So she aims at an empty patch of marshy land and strikes with a Fire Spin!

...except the flames rise in an intense, spinning 6 foot column and are FAR more powerful than any normal Fire Spin's!

"Well, I was going to suggest you try channeling more energy into Fire Spin, but I guess you beat me to it, girl.  Careful with how you use that move."

Swiftfire's learned Inferno at last!  That's going to leave quite the scorch mark...

Off to the Center to get that IOU and heal his pokemon, then...and check to see if he got a reply yet...

The fox turns its gaze directly on Ventus. That was a straight up lie - Ventus knows exactly what he did.

How sad... Shiva was actually looking forward to have her magical fox chant and howl to the tune of the Shamisen. Seems like this is just not going to happen.

Ventus aggressive/defensive posture immediately relaxed when Braixen was returned to their Pokeball, causing him to let out a sigh as he returned Apsis' to wherever he retrieved it from. "Thank you for your timely intervention, Shiva. Had you not I fear we would have.....an unappealing confrontation with one another, so I'm glad we all were spared such a thing. I don't understand why your Braixen despises me so (As I have deliberately made him not see the connection between destroying their home and their hatred, and he didn't know they were in the area anyway to witness said devestation to begin with, so...) , but its an unfortunate reality that we must all endure none of the less. Hopefully such resentment will fade in time, but forgive me for thinking that it will not," the researcher replied to his most blessed friend, a thankful smile already back in place on his face like it never left.

Once that matter was resolved, the empath disentangled himself from his mystical friend's graps (Giving her an apologetic smile in the process), telling her that: "Forgive me, but I believe I've spotted someone that can advise me on how to play my Shamisen, and I wish to converse with the locals on how to make a proper Skial. If you wish to join, however, I will not mind in the slightest! Good company makes music all the better, at least in my experience!"

Order: Time for music lessons from the natives! After he receives them, I'll get started on crafting the post with the Skial I've made, alright? Alright, let's do it!

Even if there where less people this night - oh... only now Shiva realized that it was getting dark meanwhile... She tightened her hold on Ven's arm a little more - she immediately felt at home... Or just plain comfortable... Or being reminded on the joy about how her blue mouse evolved here... or how this was just plain different from what she was used to by growing up 'n living in Unova's metropolis... Eh, she didn't quite knew by herself, but she knew that this place, with its fire burning, music playing and people roasting food, does have a place in her heart.

Alright, since her magical fox cannot be with her, her current Grass Types on hand shall be, which where a familiar cherrylike Pokemon and a newly gained Chikorita. The latter is encouraged to take her place on the right shoulder of her Master, while the first is kept close and safely with on arm. In the hand of the other, she already had the book containing the native swampsongs. The page containing 'Skirl of the Southern Wind' had a lightgreen bookmark.

No chance to leave, as right after Ventus has freed himself from Shiva's grasp, she almost immediately she got a hold of one of his sleeves before he even got the slightes chance to get away. "I'd actually be happy to stay there and listen to the tune of your instrument, de- VEN. Just for the sake of...getting to know the sound of it and you playing it. I know the lyrics, but I'm missing the melody to go with the lyrics. Alright?"

"This is a very very fine Shamisen! Older than mine, and mine is four generations old."

"First, you must clear your mind. Then you sit in this way, which we call seiza. Back straight, knees like so."

"Embrace your instrument like a lover. This pick is called a plectrum, or bachi in our tongue. All your muscles must be relaxed. Strike from the side. It's a swinging motion. There are only three strings, so you can learn the notes quite quickly."

He demonstrates.

"You fret on the tsubo, pressing very gently, with the minimum amount of pressure. When you want a brighter sound, you can flick the strings with your finger rather than the bachi. Show me what you can do!"
