[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole

But I will send Gliscor with you for your return journey to Stair City, if you wish. She can use the Earthpower to make the journey a little easier, and defend you from Machoke and Rock Pokemon. It's just a normal Pokemon move, nothing magical about it. Eh, eh, eh, though that Ventus might see it differently."

She averted gaze from the ermit to instead take a look at her opens hands as if she's amazed but finds it hard to believe that they can do something that will have a lasting effect on the earth. But, if done a little more thinking, it's actually true.

The mentioning of a return to Stair City brought her attention back to him again. "Oh, thank you for lending Gliscor to us! She's...fainted though, laying at the base of the TipVen's initial dislike - IF present - might change a little upon realzing how she's useful to us on the way back, helping protecting us from dangerous Pokemon we may encounter... Ehm..." *turning to Heart, Nathan and Valder* "...Shall we... find a safe place to build up tent first before we travel back? Night's still young, and some rest sounds good now that the Vines are defeated..."

Heart nod his head. "I agree, but before that I would like to study a bit from this cave. With luck I can find something about the Disaster Stone and a way to stop it or even destroy it. Or at least some info about what we will face in the Skull Ruins and what pokemon we find there." Heart then gaze the direction of the old man. "If you sir permit of course."

The mentioning of a return to Stair City brought her attention back to him again. "Oh, thank you for lending Gliscor to us! She's...fainted though, laying at the base of the TipVen's initial dislike - IF present - might change a little upon realzing how she's useful to us on the way back, helping protecting us from dangerous Pokemon we may encounter... Ehm..." *turning to Heart, Nathan and Valder* "...Shall we... find a safe place to build up tent first before we travel back? Night's still young, and some rest sounds good now that the Vines are defeated..."

"The battle is won, but the war is far from over.  Sarimanok wouldn't let one plan's failure stop the success of his next."

Nathan's turned to face the old man, purposely not facing Shiva.

"If it's fine with you, sir, I'd like to ask if we can rest here for the night.  We've all had a long day, and this is probably the safest place in the Divide.  And one of the warmer ones..."

Nathan pulls out his pokedex as well.  Checks to see if he has any cell service up here.  He needs to give Dagny a call if possible...

"...what's in the Skull Ruins...heh...No mysteries there, Heart. Ghosts. Lots of ghosts.  Both pokemon of all kinds and the ones from stories, if the ramblings of usually somewhat nonsensical adventurers are to believed.  Also, Unown.  Lots of them too.  Mostly modern Unown, but there are claims that Old Unown can be seen in the deeper parts.  A couple Baltoy and such as well."

Maybe me and Ven can already head downwards the Tip on our Metagross to find a suitable position for building up the tent. If not at the base, then maybe at the savannah or desert... I thank thee again, great eremit of the earth. May your days be fruitful and your days enjoyable..."

With that said, Shiva made her way outside the cave, eventually running into Ventus. He'd find her in a silently delighted and relieved mood, yet she desires to soon find some rest. She doesn't say a word, but gives him a faint smile as a greeting.

The eremite brings a portion of a very rich black mud he calls "hurtloam." "Spread this on your Pokemon. It's a natural cure that will restore a little energy to a Pokemon, even a fainted one." (It restores 1hp no matter what, limit 1/day/Pokemon). "It also instantly cures Poison, Paralysis, or other nasty persistent issues. Not something like a Burn, Sleep, or Confusion though."
He demonstrates on Gliscor, waking her up.

"You can identify hurtloam by the little specks of gold in it. Any Ground-type Pokemon can confirm your finding. It likes low fertile valleys where water once ran."


"You could stay in this cave, or I could show you a relatively safe space at the bottom. It's hard to find. Heart, feel free to explore, but you'll need to leave my trestle alone while I'm working on it. The Skull Ruins have many layers, but what Nathan says is indeed accurate. Or was, a century ago."

Sweet.  If there's some of that Hurtloam to spare, looks like Orthros isn't going to be fainted for the night.  Shame Nathan doesn't have a ground type of his own if he thinks he's found more of that, though...something to consider for the future, maybe...but not something Nathan plans on getting soon.  What he has right now is fine with him.  Couldn't hurt to take a little with him if there's some to spare, either.

Drat, no signal...maybe there'd be better luck lower down...*sigh*...and though it IS warm(er) in this cave, the tent's warm(er) too...and not a cave floor...he has so many questions though...but maybe Mesprit would answer a few of them later...

When Shiva exited the cave to greet the eccentric researcher/maybe recipricol crush , she initially saw a mulish look of discontent on his face, yet could also detect grudging acceptance. Ventus, despite his dogged efforts to close of his mind and ignore whatever that THING was blabbering from his blighted lips, heard EVERYTHING they He was less than pleased with his neutralistic attitude towards humanity nor the oath he extracted from his friends for his aid, but the old man did assist in the eradication of the Vines, and greatly hindered the forces responsibe for them in the first place, so while he still loathed them, he could not hold the old man in total contempt. Just mostly so. He would never trust them or what they said about 'Earthpower', for such a thing is just magic and arcane force by another name in his eyes. Even if he was 'connected' to it, he would never draw actively upon its power, and would damn it forever in his heart until his dying breath. That, he promised to himself....

Ventus, however, did managed to tune out his friend's part of the conversation, so when he eventually noticed his most blessed friend he immediately perked up and returned their smile, motioning her to join him up on his Metagross mount with a much less stifling air about him. "My friend, I'm glad that blasted elder thing did nothing amiss, and all is well and whole with you! I heard that they successfully solved the problem posed by the Vines, if only partially, so will we all be departing for Stair City poste haste, or finding a campsite at the base of the mountain?"

"I agree. I hope we are not much...GROUNDend my friend, its good to have Phantump with me since we are not going to LEAF this place soon. Eeeey!" Heart say finally doing his PUNisher side. "Get it? GROUNDed. And LEAF this place since Phantump is grass type?"

"I actualy accept your good offer my good sir. I would like to learn a little about this "Earthpower" if possible great sage. About how these pokemon Pokemon receive the ground type. Gliscor I can understand since he already have the ground, but what about the others?"

I agree. I hope we are not much...GROUNDend my friend, its good to have Phantump with me since we are not going to LEAF this place soon. Eeeey!" Heart say finally doing his PUNisher side. "Get it? GROUNDed. And LEAF this place since Phantump is grass type?"

Neither Nathan nor Kirlia laugh at those puns.  Just facepalm in unison.
