As for Kirlia not being around, that only wonders her at the first glance (she does notice it, definitelly), as 1. he is not allowed to participate in Little Cup and 2. maybe he's currently being enjoying the healing energy of a Healing Machine which reasons staying within their Ball.
She also stopped midmovement, the Ball containing her first Pokemon already in hand as he said these last two words to her. Once again she makes that sweetish-confused expression in a tilted head. "...huh? None of my dear Pokemon knows flashing Dazzling Gleam, and I don't either. I'll just try to SHIIIINE anyway, we'll see who will be chooses by the spotlight today. Now, make a good performance on stage n' battlefield, my first dear one!~"
(Theme from the last battle, 'Let's get serious/cereal', is too serious here. I've choosen this one originating from the same SNES-Game instead, reflecting how this shall be enjoyable semi-serious sparring.)
