[Meta thread] Iron's PokeRole Adventure: The Skull Ruins

I don't fully comprehend why though, as he didn't want to speak about the topic at all in the first place and in the end he indeed didn't have to, while Ventus made his point rather clear about not sharing what he knows before Nathan does. Can you shortly explain?
Hmm, it seems like Ventus prefers that the topic of Shadow Pokemon is better left forgotten, while Nathan prefers exactly the opposite.

Oh. Well, that not too good for him, especially since his self worth and confidence is all but threadbare by this point. However, Ven leaving and not starting shit or ruffling their feathers when denyed further information was most likely the best outcome, and terms of fallout their is practically none that will be readily violitle.

Besides, each of our characters got what they wanted out of that conversation imo without going into detail, and unless Nathan makes an issue of it this should blow over for the two of them fairly swiftly. At least, I hope!

Most likely because Shadow Pokémon and Cipher are sensitive topics for Nathan, and the fact that Ventus more or less denied them any form of agency or recourse in their conversation unless he allowed it. That, and my character own behavior during then would have been unnerving to just about anyone, so....

As for why Ven wants data about Shadow Pokémon and the knowledge surrounding them/their creation to be buried DEEPLY is mainly because he thinks the more people that are aware of this, the greater chance someone gets the bright idea to make more of them. Being an ex-criminal and a paranoid cynic, he's fairly certain some wannabe villain or Cipher would pounce on the opportunity to create essentially super weaponized Pokémon soldiers. Given how often the regions of the world have been plagued by Team Rockets groups or similar baddies ruining the social order, and you begin to see why he treats that intel as HIGHLY sensitive and dangerous to possess...

Hmm, that certanly makes a lot of sense, no need to risk copycats.
On the oher hand, this crisis being prevented from being forgotten makes sense too, as those who do not learn from it are doomed to repeat it.

Argh, I don't know what Shiva would eventually more agree with - but now I'm glad that she isn't into this issue. C:

That, and Nathan feels he just can't seem to do anything right as far as Ventus is concerned these days...the topic itself is incredibly sensitive on multiple levels for sure, though, both emotionally and worldly.  There were many reasons he was trying to get Ventus to start things instead...

That's a constant problem, unfortunately, what with Ardos still running around Orre somewhere, trying to bring Cipher back again...the authorities did a REALLY good job of cleaning up and hiding/destroying all the Shadow Pokemon and Snag Machine related data, though (ie, Nathan knows nothing about how those processes work).  Only high ranking members of Cipher would know how Shadow Pokemon are made, and Ardos is the only one left who actually would still want to.  Minds like Ein, Colress, or Lovrinas' are also rather...hard to come by.  Particularly since they also have to be paired with a willingness to essentially turn pokemon into soulless killing machines.

In defense of the not forgetting point:

If it weren't for Professor Krane and Michael's father, Cipher would have won.  There would have been no prototype snag machine, no purify chamber to purify Shadow Lugia...nothing.  Cipher would have returned and been unopposed as they took over Orre once more, then moved on to the rest of the world with an army of pokemon that not even Celebi itself could have purified.

And since Nathan knows Ardos is still trying to revive Cipher...well, Cipher seems to be an organization that just doesn't die out no matter how hard you crush it.  And then there's similar ones, like Almanac...

Plus, if Nathan can learn about Shadow Pokemon (since Orre doesn't want to forget what happened either), so could anyone else that was so inclined to look.

All in all, best to be prepared.

Hmm, since we're waiting for GM to progress things and finish Heart's Gym Battle in the first place, I think I'll be turning in for the night then as I feel I could use a little more sleep.

@Iron, I've edited things to reflect that Shiva does not only look up the Entries for Eevee and Gothitelle in the Almanac as well as where Illumise can be found in Chreshire, but also checks on her second Mystery Egg with the EggChecker, the one oozing little pink threads. I hope that's okay and doesn't mean a workload of math! Magnetmine Eggs has been mentioned to hatch on Day50.

Congrats on the victory, @Spiritmon! That was a close one.

Be very careful when spending Will points in the future, though. Can't spend them without consequence, and the more you spend, the more severe the consequences become.

Tell me about it. That battle was indeed the greatest battle Heart ever have. About spend so much Will points, well, I didnt have much choice. With the much pain my pokemon was having I didnt have choice but try to ignored them using simple will. At least Heart was able to win this time. Next time I might dont have the same power.
