Gym Leader Dagny vs Ventus Round 5

Still switching Breloom for Noibat?

Ventus' serene composure is still unbroken despite Dagney's curtailing his primary strategy, but one could see almost see the gears turn in his head as he took in account of the Safeguard and incoming Future Sight. Soon enough, an wonderful idea came to the Natural Sage, causing the small smile on their fact to grow ever larger. "An effective means to derail my brother's plans, one that I should have account for before issuing my orders. Ah well, we all must learn from the folly of our mistakes, and adapt to the adversity they generate, correct? Michael, return! Go......Abaddon!"

With that said, the mushroom of champeons was swiftly recalled, and a flick of his wrist of seconds later the Blue Demon's Pokeball was shot out onto the battle and appear in a flash of light! The child tottered in place on the battlefield at first, as if unsure of his surroundings or himself, before he his father, which caused him to firm up immediately and snap out a salute along with his species' characteristic warble! The empath gently and encouragingly smiled at his child, conveying his utmost confidence through both physical means and broadcasting his emotion directly at them, and nodded their head when they fully acclimated to the battlefield.

"My child, this shall be your first Gym Battle fight, and I know their is a lot of pressure for you to succeed for my shake, but I will let you know that regardless of the outcome you will not have ever disappointed me. Understand? Now, give this Bronzong a round of applause for his earlier performance, before giving it one of your most adorable looks and Strike out when its guard is down! Do your best, Abaddon!"

Order: Switch to Abaddon instead of Lucifer, and have them use Encore to lock Brozong into his current sequence (Priority!), before using Charm to ground his STR and Strike to get some chip damage in! If they try to dodge the first move and succeed, Encore will be continued to be spammed until they are locked into SOME exploitable sequence! If status doesn't work anymore, time to break out the other annoying strategy (Which isn't blocked by Safeguard btw!). Also, remember that Abaddon has an Oran Berry, and that Leech Seed drains Bronzong health by 1D6 Dice per round!

Moves:

Encore
Accuracy: 8D6 Accuracy - 3 Actions = 5D6 Dice
Effect: Locks target into their last sequence of moves, which would be Safeguard, Extrasensory, and Future Sight

Charm
Accuracy: 8D6 Accuracy - 4 Actions = 4D6 Dice
Effect: - 2 STR on Target

Strike
Accuracy: 9D6 Accuracy - 5 Actions = 4D6 Dice
Damage: 1D6 Damage
Effect: None

Safeguard 1
(4)(2)(3)(4)(4)(3) Safeguard is renewed

Charm 2

(5) -1 This attack cannot damage Wobbuffet.
Flinch: (6) Wobbuffet flinches 3

True story, that small stroll to the GPC's precious and valued Cafeteria to get both a Sitrus Berry Tea (completed with sugar and a cookie), the third cup of coffee of this morning for Shiva (for the way to the Shelter) and a sugar cube for Spritzee to consume was a very welcome way for her gain a tad bit of distance between herself and what actually happened just now within Nahan's room. While the fact that she could have joined Team Plasma if she wanted and has followed their activity and anything concerning N, leaving her with that up-looking/fascination/awe and emptiness within her young heart after he disappeared actually were not real 'bad' memory or thing she would prefer to not have gone through in her so far life, but unexpectadly being dragged into a thing that'd remind her of him had a bittersweet, saddening taste to it. She'd probably had to cope with it first, starting by stroking her new Fairy under the beak after offering that sugar cube to her, which triggered a scent of lavender incenses.

On the other hand, Shiva had no real idea what would happen and how things would continue IF dear N would actually return, least of all how she'd react. But she FORCED herself to come back to the current planet and not ponder over this as it'll very likely give her headaches, worries and confusion among the joy. Enough of that, she's tired of having her mood dragged down by a run-in with Nathan, so she'll just bring the cup of tea into the room and then get off.

As she did so, she figured out that Kirlia was beside his Master again, very quiet and probably progressing all the information she has given him - Shiva gave him nevertheless a small smile - but it came with a look that clearly meant that she's serious about what she pleaded him to do and think about: Just let this issue be, it won't lead anywhere if worrying too much over it. Easy to say, but it's better this way. Nothing compares to sweet, pure and innocent N, and nothing ever will.
Before Shiva lef the room however, she unwillingly sensed that...clear hint of guilt coming from the psychic dancer again. She has picked it up earlier already, but wasn't sure about whether it was really what and how she thought it could be, because Nathan leaving his journal unattended was just too out-of-place that he'd just happened to forget packing it away. Turning around again after having withdrawn her hand from the door handle again, she faced Kirlia only to sigh imoeribly and walk up to him again, giving him knowing(?) shook of her head followed by attempting to softly pat him on the head. "My, it's obvious to me that you're thinking about what I've told you, are you? That's good... Just, well, make sure that Nathan's okay when he wakes up and gets what I've been advising you. Just for once, let it be. The past is gone but the future is ours to form, that's what they say, you know. You also don't have to feel too guilty for putting him into more sleep with your Hypnosis, if that's what you did... But make sure to now overdo it with your care." She withdrew her hand again and made another attempt to leave, this time more eager to pull it through. "I guess we'll see one another again," *sipping on coffee* ", 'til then."

With that, Shiva has closed the door, took a few deep breaths in the means of calming herself on the way through the GPC, and determined to find back her spirits and some distraction mader her way to the Shelter for her last day of working there before eventually... Tropius and Nightshade can spend their time on the green roof again with one another and the other Pokemon from the Shelter, but only for a half day today. "I don't quite know when we're visiting this place again, you two, so enjoy your free hours to utmost again before I'll be picking you two up again. Please don't give me the shock of wounds caused by the barbed wire then, alright?~"

Gym Leader Dagny vs Ventus Round 6

"Clever, locking me into at least one move that is ineffective!" Dagny relaxes, knowing she doesn't need to give orders. She takes the chance to sit back in her chair and relax, though she still moves about to observe every interaction on the battlefield.

(...)

Wobbuffet screeches in pleasure as he comes out from under the fading bell, largely unharmed. This will be an easy fight.

The researcher could help but grin with delight (and not a small bit of pride!) as he watched Abaddon eagerly charge into battle, which only grew more encouraging as his son carried out his counter stratagem with aplomb and gusto! "I am an highly educated Researcher with years of experience handling all sorts of Pokémon, so a bit of cleverness on my part comes with the territory, naturally!" Ventus responded to Dagney, his tone teasing, wry, but not mean in any sense of the word. He then directed his attention onto his Blue Demon, calmly issuing a series of order that would hopefully carrying him through his fight against Brozong relatively unharmed!

"Excellent job, my child! Now, use Mirror Coat to reflect Bronzong's Future Sight's damaging energies right back at it, then proceed to chip away at it with powerful Strikes and reflect its own power back at it until they are down! Be sure to give them a round of applause every so often, though, so that it knows you want more of the same performance!"

Order: The basic chain of orders for this round will be thus: Mirror Coat as first Action to reflect Future Sight's power right back at Bronzong, then Mirror Coat twice afterwards. Afterwards, the basic attack order chain will be Strike (Since Mirror Coat doesn't do anything for Safeguard), then Mirror Coat twice to reflect Extrasensory and Future Sight back at them. However, Encore will be IMMEDIATELY be refreshed at the start of the Round (His 1st Action) when its possible for it to be refreshed (However, if its possible to refresh it like Safeguard, Abaddon will refresh Encore a round before the round it wears off, so as to hedge his bets). Time to begin the slow grind once more! Also, Abaddon will eat his Oran Berry when his HP falls to 7, so as to remove that point of Pain!

Moves:

Mirror Coat
Accuracy: 9D6 Base - 3 Actions = 6D6 Dice
Damage: It would do 4 Damage dice to Bronzong, since Future Sight has a Damage Pool of 2D6 - 1 Dice

Strike
Accuracy: 9D6 Base - 4/5 Actions = 5/4 Dice
Damage: 1 Damage Dice
Effect: None

Encore (Situational)
Accuracy: 8D6 Base - 3 Actions (Since it'll always be used at the start of the round) = 5D6 Dice
Effect: Known

Director North confirms that your half day will be spent building instruments that a Pokemon could use. You have a budget of a few hundred Pokedollars if you need to purchase some materials, but mostly he'd like you to use the random stuff found in the backroom: tarps, barrels, broken playground equipment, wood, that kind of thing.

Gym Leader Dagny Round 7

Mirror Coat 1
(6)(1)(5)(2)(4)(1)
(4)(6)(4)(5) An excellent response, tilting that falling bell back into Bronzong! The steel Pokemon actually staggers in the air. 4/9hp. -2 pain

Safeguard 1
(3)(6)(3)(1)

Strike 2
(4)(4)(6)(5)(4) Critical hit! It still only does 1 dice dmg against these tough opponents.
(5) Bronzong takes 1 dmg

Extrasensory 2
(4)(1)(4)
Flinch: (5)

Strike 3
(2)(5)(3)(2)
(4) Bronzong takes 1 dmg 2/9hp

Future Sight 3
(4)(6)
Another familiar bell floats up to the roof as Abaddon begins charging his Mirror Coat.

FS damage: (2)(4) no damage.

Leech: (6) Bronzong takes 1 dmg 1/9hp -3 pain. Abaddon screeches again. This is going better than even he expected!

Gym Leader Dagny Round 8

Dagny stares straight into Ventus' eyes, across the court, as Abaddon responds with the KO.

Mirror Coat 1
(6)(1)(6)(5)(3)(2)
(2)(2)(5)(5) Bronzong faints.

"It is, interestingly, rather rare that a trainer comes in to fight me with the slow subtle strategy rather than speed, super effective moves, or other more traditional methods. I suspect most just don't have the patience. Or perhaps it is because these moves belong to the Grass and Psychic types, which lack direct offensive capability against the Steel type."

(I did change my orders, but since this round went quite well I don't mind this at all!!! Keep it this way please!)

As the ancient Bronzong was toppled by the might of its own moves, Abaddon once more snapped off a smart, eager salute towards its fallen opponent and while letting out a jubilant cry of triumph! Yes, he did it! He rung that big old gong's , with hardly any difficulty on his part! But it can't relax right now, for their are even MORE foes that need to be taken care of for their father! He's not going down without a fierce Struggle, that's for sure!

In stark contrast to his regular serenity, Ventus was outright cheering for his precious blue demonic child, heaping out a generous amount of praise for their easy victory! "Fantastic work Abaddon! I knew you would be able to dispatch your opponent in due time, but once more you exceeded my expectations and did so in record time! Keep it up, my child!"

Dagney's comment on his general 'slow and steady' strategy did not go unnoticed, though, and it took him a couple of minutes to think of an adequate response for the Steel Wonder. "Hmm.....well, I'm a great deal more experienced with Pokémon than the average trainer, and my overall personal qualities and occupations lends itself more to thoughtfulness and deliberation, so I tend to employ more pragmatic and slow paced strategies than just blithely rushing down a given opponent. I've learned well the consequences of not 'looking before you leap' and having a healthy caution of all things, so I try to minimize hazards and difficulties to be non-issues whenever possible......."

Ven said this last part with hints of ruefulness and bitterness, as if the memories his words conjured left a bad taste in his mouth...

Order: Respond to Dagney's comment, and keep Abaddon out for now. That's all!

It doesn't take long for Nathan to wake up after Shiva's left.

Kirlia's packed away the pen and journal by the time he does.

*yaaaawwwwnnn*

Nathan blinks and looks around.

...when did he get in his bed?

...

...in fact...what happened last night?  He remembered waiting for Ventus, and then...

...nothing.

...

Kirlia hands him the tea and the note from Shiva.

"...so she's challenging Dagny this evening, huh?  Okay then..."

...

...he needed to spend a little time sorting himself out here...

...

...the tea is surprisingly refreshing...like it soothed aches and pains he didn't know he had...weird...

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For the life of him, Nathan couldn't figure out what happened last night.

...

...only one thing for it, then...he's going to have to ask Ventus...

...

Welp, better kill some time while he waits for a response...

Training session for Forthright, Porygon-Z, and Pulse!  Porygon-Z is doing some Conversion practice (is now a good time to progress that to stage 2: a random type from the moves Porygon-Z knows?), Pulse is being its usual mischievous self and practicing Trick every so often despite Nathan's suggestion to practice Blizzard (which is probably distracting Porygon-Z somewhat, since it looks like a move it might have a lot of fun using), and Forthright...well, the intention was to try and see what she can learn about the power of Ice, but Pulse isn't cooperating, so Forthright's probably laughing at Nathan's expense whenever Trick happens instead.

Ah, the joys of training disobedient pokemon, right?

She was not too suprised by being given that task for the half working day today as Director North already hinted into that direction, and engaging in a bit of handcrafting sounds like a good distraction as it needs concentration! Especially since creating an actual instrument even from recycled materials is something that goes a little beyond of what she actually creates, but given that she'd be happy to broaden her horizon a little, it'd be something that reminds the Pokemon of the Shelter on her until she'd have a chance to come by again AND they ma have a chance to not only have their fun when getting bored (being disobediant + being bored = mischief is pretty much inevitably!), Shiva still somewhat coyly and insecure but between the lines eager accepts the task. She'll definitely need her Pokemon's help, this time indeed her own ones though as these are the ones she knows well and trusts that they don't accidently break a thing or get too frustrated shall something not work out as intended. However, if a Shelter Pokemon would want to look or clearly express wanting to be involved, she wouldn't object.

"I'll, ehm, will take a look of what I'll be able to create then... Three different instruments sound like a good number, doesn't it? You also said 'a Pokemon', so I'll try to keep things usable for as much species of Pokemon as possible... Oh, and in CASE I'd need that charge I'd let you know, but I'd too prefer to not debit the Shelter more when it could instead use the money I'd use for materials for food or medical care. I'll mostly use my own stuff and natural materials."

(5) +6 = 11

Abaddon is faster even than the Quick Claw'd electric type.
