[Meta thread] Iron's PokeRole Adventure: The Skull Ruins
Update!: Added in post Fainting orders, which include Apsis Paralyzing and Poisoning Chandlelure with Glare and a Held Back in Damage Poison Sting (Which should only do STR + 1 - Held Back (1/2 Dice Pool) - Vitality (at least 2) - RE = 1D6 - 1 Damage, so she can't possibly kill it with the move! It also might as well auto proc since Ven/Apsis will keep using it on them it until it does too) respectively, before attempting capture with any of his Pokeballs. He'll start with the Steel Ball to give it a test, and then work his way down from Dusk Ball to Great Ball. If those all fail, I have plans for that tenacious spirit.....

Thing is, the Poison might kill Chandelure before the Steel Ball breaks since that type of pokeball only has Seal Strength 2...

Whoops, that reminds me to add the three Steel Balls to Inventory.

If all else fails and you still want to catch Chandelure, simply get a hold of Shiva and the now in total 19 Balls to capture Pokemon she carries around, one or two less won't make much of a difference. (She'd hand/gift you the candlespirit though, I don't want to have it)

In that case, if it fails to capture it thrice before breaking it, the Dusk Ball will be used on it instead of the Steel Ball, presuming the Steel Ball doesn't break by the third try. If that fails, then its going to be kept trying to be captured by the Steel Ball until it either submits, or dies. Ven has little tolerance for potential threats to him or those beholden to him, and I don't think hardly anyone will miss a dangerous soul eating/burning Ghost type if it happens to die from Poisoning, so if it doesn't want to be capture, it can be free in the afterlife instead! (Which nobody in the group can stop since they are doing their own things by this Point!). Its a win win for Ventus and many potential victims either way!

.....Bloody hell, that's a lot of Pokeballs you got there. If you have that many and are not using them, you could easily sell 9 of them at 1.5 times the price in Arrowroot (Haziel Teleport away!), which would net your quite the windfall!

Appreciate the offer for Pokeballs for its capture regardless, though!

I had to buy 10 Pokeballs to obtain that Premier Ball for Gothitelle anyway, Professor Mallorn funded her as she sent over Skrelp to him and as a future Professional Breeder she's almost expected to own a big variety of Pokemon, plus I just like to capture or acquire all the Pokemon I find interesting!~

...presuming that Chandelure was even a threat in the first place...could be that Iron has something completely different in mind for what it's doing when it arrived, after all.  Doesn't necessarily have to be looking for a snack.

That's just speculation, though.  What I CAN say is that purposely poisoning/burning a fainted pokemon is not typically looked at in a very positive light...heck, just leaving them burned or poisoned after they've fainted isn't either, but doing it to a defenseless pokemon is...well, you've probably got the gist of what I'm saying already.

That's a Pokemon that burns the spirit of alive people for its own sustenance without much of an effort, I highly doubt it's harmless or just wants to say hello. o.o It's more likely in my view that it was lurking for prey there at the Chandelabra!~

Ven's not taking any chances with it at ALL, since he full well knows that give it any inch could result in him and Ao Guang getting a nice soul smoldering tan! Better be safe than sorry with highly Disobedient Pokémon with highly Lethal Moves/Traits available to it, after all!

As for leaving Chandleure to die, Ven's done far worse to Pokémon in terms of cruelity when they posed a threat to his/his Pokémon's life and wellbeing (Torturing the Delta Houndour to death claims that #1 spot!) , and he's not exactly concerned with how others view his actions so long as they are Legal/justified/He can get away with it, so not only would he be unconcerned by just leaving the ghost to wither away from Poisoning, its a better fate than just letting it be eaten alive by Apsis, put out by Ao Guang, or exorcised painfully by Ventus. Leaving it alone and/or unpoision is also not an option, since every Status on it makes it easier to capture (Which now that I think about it, since Orthros became Frozen, that's ANOTHER Status I could add onto it! Genuis!) , which as you point out will be rather hard with Pokeballs and 4 Disobedience/High Will Score....

As I said, that's all speculation until Iron says something in the game thread.  Could be predatory (we ARE closeish to the Ruins after all, so there is a bit of a danger factor that might come into play), or it could simply just be different from other Chandelure.  Or maybe it's just not hungry.  Maybe it just likes the Candelabra and was minding its own business.  Could be any number of reasons.  The pokedex is only a general outline for pokemon behavior.

Seeing as Chandelure isn't a mandatory encounter, it's not much of an immediate threat, so there might be a good/weird reason for that.
