Okay, now THAT is creepy...*shudder*...

...not much he can do about it right now, though.  He'd have to mull this over later...

Well, back to the breakfast scene, I suppose?  Furret's probably feeling a little overwhelmed by all that attention.

Yes, but also enjoying the food. She kind of dances forward, gets some food, then gets overwhelmed again and has to back off. But the people of Cress City love and respect Furret, so when Nathan politely demands space, he gets it.

Nathan smiles, relieved and thankful.

"Well, you've got a lot of food there now, Furret.  If you're not sure what to do with it all, I'm sure Forthright would be more than happy to help ya with figuring out where to put it all, if you catch my drift.  Lots of sharing when it comes to raising a newborn pokemon."

Nathan and Ralts eat their own breakfast in the meantime.

"...speaking of newborn pokemon...that egg of yours is...interesting.  Obviously, it's not a Sentret that's going to hatch from it, based on the colors.  I scanned it with my Pokedex last night...and it's apparently a Carvanha.  A fish pokemon, and quite a...rough one at that.  I don't think Mt. Sentry would necessarily be a good place to raise it.  At least, not in the areas you're probably used to navigating."

"...though that brings me to my offer again.  If you'd be willing to travel with me, help me out with Forthright and maybe some other eggs I might encounter on the journey, I can help you with Carvanha.  Help you both grow, even.  You wouldn't have to worry about being separated from your egg, and maybe could even make new friends and family along the way.  Does that sound like it might be something you'd be interested in?  You've only known Forthright a short while, and the two of you are already getting along spectacularly.  I would really appreciate it if you joined us.  I think it'd be fun."

Seeing them doing so well warmed Shiva's heart in a pleasant blazing. She won't forget how she was able to blaze in icy-cold flames as well if triggered badly, but she was capable of feeling positive emotions just as strong. If Braixen insists that he's doing fine, he'd receove some absent-minded strokes over his ears, the red furr sprouting from it and cheek from her in silent care. Part of her is feeling that the lethal harm of both of her Pokemon were her fault, because she went into that battle in the first place.... Which was true to some degree, as that Furret asked her to take care of that predator and she insited to take care of it alone and right away.

But, different than how when Plusle was lethally harmed by that exploding Weezing on Route 1, Shiva was not overly blaming her self and telling herself that she failed in protecting them. No, they all made it in the end, together. Wounds caused will heal up, leaving only the memory of it behind.

To cheer the magical fox up, she handed him Azu's Soothe Bell to play with and hone his howling and chanting within his Pokeball, before he got recalled, his Pokeball half-hugged and then packed away. This counts as Braixen's Held Item for today.

If Cottonee insists on being totally fine and chiper again, she gets another hug and can gladly stay outside her Ball to tag along with her sweet Master. Furret comes as well, if Cottonee would get tired she'd just let him carry her. Once some fruit to share between themselves and another strong tea (not the one with the minor augury) are grabbed, they made their way out.

Stepping out of the Center, Shiva immediatly realizes less people in the streets than in Stair, she also soaks up that secure feeling lingering in the streets. The first thing the trio will pay a visisit are these quaint Bed&Breakfast Hotels scattered here and there, they already caught Shiva's interest yesterday but only now she can take a closer look at them. The woodcraft-themed as well as the romance-theamed ones interest her most. 'What services do you offer?' she would ask at the counter/reception, 'How much does a night cost?', 'Do I have to book right away or can I simply come by anytime?', 'Whatelse do I have to know?' as well as 'The latter isn't solely reserved for those that are already in a romatic relationship, is it?'

Bottle Round 1

Moving too fast for Lilith to get into position, Golduck physically swipes Haneal with a watery attack.
Aqua Jet 1
3 Dex + 4 Fight + 2 -3 actions = 6d6
(2)(4)(3)(2)(6)(5)
4 Str + 2 power +1 stab +1 Held item -5 vit = 3d6+1
(2)(2)(2) Haneal takes 1 dmg. 7/8 hp.

Amnesia 1
(1)(2)(2)(5)(5)(5)
The simple camel gains +3 Def, minimizing all damage!

Leer 1
(6)(1)(4)
-1 Def for all foes.

Quiver Dance 1
7 perform dice -3 action = 4d6
(5)(5)(2)(3)
+1 Dex, +1 Offense, +1 Defense! Butterfree surpasses the sky serpent in initiative.

Ember 2 - Is Haneal still holding Wide Lens? I'll assume yes for now as that's what's on your sheet.
(6)(1)(6)(6)(4)(6) With the Lens, that's a critical hit.
3 Str + 2 power +1 stab +2 crit -3* vit = 5d6+1
(1)(2)(3)(6)(6) Butterfree takes 3 dmg 8/11hp -1 pain.
Burn: (6) Butterfree was burned!

Bottle's strategy seems to be focused on using his Pokemon's size to buffet the enemy into submission, all while tanking their hits. While he's clearly done some speed training on them, it didn't take any skill or training to give them such strength with their massive size and weight!

For example, Butterfree is trying to buffet Lilith out of the air with Silver Wind.

Silver Wind 2
3 Dex + 4 Fight +2 +1QD -1 pain -4 actions = 5d6
(1)(2)(1)(5)(4) It barely clips her, though.
5* Str + 2 power +1 stab -5 vit = 3d6, neutral dmg
(6)(6)(4) Lilith takes 3 dmg 6/9hp -1 pain.
CD: (1)

She responds by gliding forward as the attack ends and striking the massive bug with her beak.
Peck 2
(2)(5)(1)
(5)(2)(1) Butterfree takes 2 dmg 6/11hp -1 pain

Golduck ceases to attack Numel and joins his brother in focusing on Lilith, which your opponent does not seem to recognize.
"I can't see that being any type that resists Psychic, so try a Zen Headbutt?"

Zen Headbutt 2
(1)(4)(6)(5)(2)
4 Str + 3 power -5 = 2d6
(3)(5) Lilith takes 1 dmg 5/9hp -1 pain
CD: (6)(1)(1) Lilith flinches 3

Ember 3
(4)(2)(1)(1)(1) That's a miss.

Silver Wind 3
(6)(2)(4)(3)
(5)(2)(1) Lilith takes 1 dmg 4/9hp -2 pain, so Ven uses a potion 8/9hp.
Your opponent takes this time to do the same, bringing Butterfree to 10/11hp.

"That worked well. Screech to make it more effective next time."

Screech 3
(5)(1)(3)(4)
-2 Def for Lilith

Peck 4
(4)(3)
(3)(6)(4) Butterfree takes 3dmg 7/11hp -1 pain.

Burn resist: (3)(3) Butterfree takes 1 dmg 6/11hp -1 pain.

Heart finds a docent in the library who is there to answer questions. Along the way, he sees some sizable dents in the ceiling. He's not entirely sure what could have caused that.

The docent explains. "Those are Pahar! They were imported from the Tandor region at great cost, financed entirely by donations! Their purpose? To light all the candles and lanterns of the Cathedral! These are the second generation of Pahar. We actually have a book about the Cathedral's history with them in it."

He shows you a book with pictures of a big crate labeled "Creshire Cathedral" and stamped with a pic of the Cathedral. Some beaks are poking out, and the crate is smoldering.

The Furret looks confused. Maybe it doesn't know what a Carvanha is.

Furret doesn't really respond to your request, but it does continue hanging out with you for the rest of the day.

"Should know it. They are quite pretty. Also, aside from the Pahar, I meet a person in Star City who own a Gargryph. He say he have caugh around here in the Cathedral. There a chance it exist some type of pokemon here in this place?"

Heart was quite curious about the book. "Could I take a look in this book? To read a bit?" Depending in the respost Heart going to read that book or not.

"Not sure what a Carvanha is?  Well...important thing is it's a fish pokemon.  You know, Magikarp, Goldeen...needs a lot of water typically in order to thrive.  Tunnels aren't typically where they live, so that could cause...problems."

"Think it over a little more, alright?  Hard part about looking after newborns is considering what's best for them.  Take what time you need."

It's quiet contemplation for the rest of breakfast mostly.

"...alright, all done with breakfast?  Great!  Now then...how about we go spend some time with Forthright and some of my other pokemon.  Most newborns like it when they're played with, when you spend time with them.  In Forthright's case, though, she loves playtime.  Battles...well, not so much, though I would like her to try it at some point...let me go swap my team around a little, and then we can head outside and play with some of my smaller pokemon for a bit."

Forthright makes a face at the mention of battling.  No, she still doesn't really like the idea of it...it looks too dangerous to her...playtime though, yup, she's happy about!

Nathan rearranges his party a little...swaps Starmie and Ditto out for the two Combee, and Yule and Swiftfire get deposited for Orthros.  The empty slot goes to the Carvanha egg for the time being.

Everything rearranged, it's time for a little playtime/training for Forthright, Orthros, and Ralts!  Furret gets to join in and help too!  Hopefully she's not too put off by Orthros once she sees how friendly he is...

"Gargryph? I don't know what that is. Is it a Pokemon? We mostly just get Starly and the occasional Murkrow here. Yes, all books in this library are available to read, but they may not leave the building. There are comfortable chairs in the next room. Some consider reading to be a form of worship."

This Cathedral predates Sarimanok by about two hundred years, making it 900 years old. When the League arrived, they had to force out a bunch of Ancient Unown and some ghost Pokemon haunting the place. There are crypts underneath the cathedral, not accessible to the public, where many holy men and women are buried. Once a decade, they choose someone new to inter in the crypts, a great honor.

If you have more questions, the book will answer them!
