[Meta thread] Iron's PokeRole Adventure: The Skull Ruins
(03-24-2018, 05:59 PM)Spiritmon Wrote: And he lost to a Snivy level 5. In the beggining of the journey of a trainer. And his Greninja with super empower Water Shuriken didnt even scrach a Charizard X (sure it was in his Mega as a Fire/Dragon and he lost his water weakness but still!). Even Heart can beat easily Ash with his his hand tie. If we got the chance to wash that guy in the ground during the journey. Both me and Heart doesnt respect or like any bit the Ketchup guy. Ash is a eternal looser. Nothing more and nothing less.

Well, that's one way to look at it, but let's consider why he lost those battles, too.

Snivy: Pikachu's electricity had just been sapped by Zekrom.  Kinda meh for storytelling reasons, but Pikachu was really weak at the time, so that loss is kinda understandable, and it certainly achieved the goal of giving Ash a fresh start in Unova.

M-Charizard-X: That same Greninja tanked a Frenzy Plant from a Mega Sceptile and KOed the lizard with a normal Water Shuriken, a quad resisted move.  Alain's just 'so stupidly OP that only the Champion could maybe beat him'.  Considering the guy's goal was beating every mega evolution in existence at the time, Ash-Greninja was effectively just another tick on the checklist.  Ash only baaarrrely lost that one, though.

Ash is pretty crazy powerful, yo (qualifying for League tournaments time and time again ain't easy!  And again, he bested Hoenn's Frontier Brains, who are individually comparable to Champions themselves).  He just keeps getting outmatched by those few who are actually stronger than him or suffering from unfortunate circumstances.  He'd probably flatten everyone in the group (as we are currently) with only a little trouble if he seriously tried to.

Ash has great stats and a lenient DM. He's playing in a campaign where the trainer's abilities are more important than the Pokemon's, like this one. Then he picked a lot of species everyone else considers bad, and they definitely don't have many HP. But he's still competitive because of the things in my first sentence.

His Pikachu isn't level 100 because levels don't exist (maybe a Strength surprise), so it can still be defeated by the right Pokemon.

I actually don't care about Ash that much, I guess Shiva in-chara won't even know who that actually is, at best she only saw him once among all the other participants of broadcasted battles on TV or the internet.

If he'd ever come to this Game, fine, if not - then that's fine as well!~

Be a eletric pokemon and sapped just because it was hit by the eletricity of another eletric pokemon (even it is a Legendary) its the worse excuse ever. And lame too. Cant refuse that was a way to achieve the goal of reset the Ash guy.

Yeah, as much I hate that Pokemon League ending, I cant denied its asking to much for a Water-type pokemon to survive the most powerfull attack of a grass type pokemon such as Sceptyle (even more in his mega form) and even more be able to beat him with a water attack. And there Alain is a stronger rival. Since he was able to fight the Elite four even before Ash before challenge the League (something Ash never achieve). And there is the fact Charizard its a very much powerfull pokemon and when he get his Mega Form as Mega Charizard-X he become Fire/Dragon and he lost his weakness to water and eletric attacks, and he have his weakness to Rock attacks reduced. The only pokemons who can cause super effective damage is Dragon, Rock and Ground. Ash was fateful to loose anyway. But that battle kinda make me give up in watch Pokemon XY. For the first time in many years I begin to cheer up that boy. Huh, talking about disapointing.

I guess the only persons who we can really blame is the bad writes of the anime Pokemon who keep him loosing every league. But I guess we should stop that topic for now. I dont want to sound like some kind of hater of Pokemon or anything like that. That anime bring me...unpleasant memories.

That would be interesting to see. But that would be consider what combination of team he would use. But I cant still feel any seriously from Ash. I still think any of us could be beat that Ash guy, even with that thing about able to beat the Brain of Hoen and whatever (I still thinks he should accept the invitation to be a member so he would at be at least something worth of respect).

Heart would be just saying something if he met that guy like: "Oh its just you. Laaaame! If someone need me I going to my training for forget I meet that person bye". But thats just my opinion.

You don't sound like a Hater, but I'd agree that maybe it'd be better if this issue would be considered wrapped up then, it grows a bit off-topic.

Yeah, blame the writers for never letting Ash win a League tournament (and various other kinda weird plot points.  Particularly in the Best Wishes arc.  That one's...not great, to say the least).  He has plenty of other achievements under his belt, though, so I'd rather not discount them entirely.  By all rights, though, he should have won the Kalos League tournament.  There was too much hype for him not to, and yet he lost anyways.  I hadn't ever seen Reddit that excited about the anime before.

If he WERE to visit Creshire, he'd probably do the same thing he does every time he visits a new region: start from scratch with nothing but Pikachu.  Only the GM would know what the rest of his team is, considering how many options he has.  He could easily have one or two souped up, fully evolved pokemon later in the journey, tjough.

Anyways, back on topic...anyone want to join Nathan at the museum today?  If so, what exhibits do ya want to visit.  I'll edit my plans accordingly depending on how many and which ones.

Ven likely will, if he's not too busy training Valder's Pokémon that is. Otherwise, no. In the middle of completing my post, and I've hit a writer's block of sorts, so its going to take a bit to get it done, so delays on my end guys. Sorry...

Should be more than enough time, imo.  Have to take breaks from the hardcore training at some point, right?
