Furret takes you to a big culvert in a dried up creek. There are a few offerings of dried berries, which she eats while she waits for you to get comfortable.

"So...if you haven't guessed by now...this is partially about your Carvanha egg.  It's supposed to hatch tomorrow, and I do want to help you with it..."

Sentry with the others tomorrow.  It's...going to be dangerous because we're going deeper this time...we don't know what we're going to find down there...we might find a lost library deep underneath the mountain with who knows what ancient knowledge in it...but we could just as easily run into a rampaging Onix or Scimitars bent on beating us to the punch and into the ground..."

"...there are two options I see.  One: I could...delay the egg's hatching for a little bit.  Put it in my PC boxes.  It won't hatch if it's in there.  But unless I put you in a pokeball, you wouldn't be able to follow it...alternatively...you could continue to stick around and follow me while I hold on to the egg.  You might be able to help us with navigating the lower levels, and you could help with protecting us, too...though I wouldn't ask you to get in harms way if you're not okay with that...we'd also have to take care of the newborn down there...which is probably going to be tricky..."

She races back and forth through the culvert and into some kind of Bidoof burrow in the creekbed - she's not afraid of the tunnels beneath Mt. Sentry.

She obviously doesn't want the Egg back for her to take care of alone, but still considers herself partly its mother.

She doesn't understand about PCs and Pokeballs, but would probably trust your judgment on that one.

That leaves two options: Furret and Carvanha descend into Mt. Sentry together, or get boxed together.

Phantump gains 1 Loyalty. He's thinking about how cute he thought humans were back then! Now he knows they come in good and bad, malicious or caring - and he's glad that Heart is one of the caring ones. He makes a fierce face, showing he's ready to evolve!

You don't think he understands that the energy of the Trading Machine will be the way to evolve him, though.

Heart was proud about his little tree. He take Viktor in his arms and give the little tree a big hug. "I will miss your little cute style Viktor. You are like a little baby to me." A little tear roll in Heart eye. Evolution its sometimes means grow, and not everytime its a easy thing to do, both for trainer and Pokemon. "But I so much proud of you. I a luck trainer to have the most brave, awesome and cute Phantump in the world." Then he firm hug Phantump.

When finish the hug he explains the process of evolution. "I will explain how the evolution will going Viktor: Shiva will help me using the trade machine to temporaly trade you with another pokemon of her. The energy of the Trading Machine will be able to trigger your evolution, and trasforming you in your final form as Trevenant. But dont worry its only temporaly trade. You will return to me after the trade in your form as a Trevenant."

After that Heart meet Shiva. "We aware Shiva. Viktor show his resolution to reach his next form." Heart look Viktor with a mix of sad and proud. "He is the best tree a trainer could have. Thank you again for helping me in his evolution Shiva. I hope I will able to someday pay my debt with ya. You are a incredible person." Heart a respect bow to her. "I will be very much grateful about the Move Tutoring. Me and Viktor will be very much honrour to have a teacher like you." Then Heart open a smile. He and Viktor is ready for the trading!

Nathan sets a pokeball and Ralts's dull Premier Ball on the ground in front of him.

"...I have another question for you then.  Do you think you'd enjoy traveling with me and Ralts on more permanent terms?  We'd be more than happy to have you.  You're doing such a wonderful job with Forthright...and we could continue to have fun, continue to help each other out, learn more about what happened hundreds or even thousands...maybe even millions...of years ago together..."

Ralts nods and shuffles over to his dull premier ball.  Touches the button, and...is sucked inside.  Nathan picks it up.

"And when I want to get ya out, all I have to do is toss the pokeball like...this."  Out comes Ralts again!  Nathan smiles and gives his best friend a hug.

"Ralts prefers to stay out of his pokeball, usually.  While he's in there, though, it can be easier to travel with him and my various other friends.  Plus, if he gets into a tight spot or is in danger, I can do...this."  Ralts is recalled from a distance.

"It might come in handy if you're coming with us on the trip to find Atheneum.  Or if you'd rather stay behind with the egg in the PC where it's safe...well, I'd have to put you in a pokeball first to do that...wouldn't have to be permanent, though..."

Ralts pops back out of his own accord.

"...and here I am, getting sidetracked again, better answer the other question first...short of it is: now that you've had a little more time to think it over, would you like to join me, Ralts, and my friends on our travels?"

Ah! That was a very helpful demonstration. Furret nods and touches the Premier Ball, then looks a little confused when nothing happens. Still, it's clear she'll be happy to travel with you after all you've been through.

Nathan chuckles.  "Alright then.  Go ahead and touch the red one then.  Or..."

Nathan also sets a Great Ball and a Steel Ball on the ground.

"Actually, I'll let you choose.  Would ya like to be in a red one, blue one, or grey one?  Those are the three different colors I have on hand right now.  The white one is Ralts's, so you can't pick that one, unfortunately.  I could try and find another white one if you'd rather be in that color pokeball, though...they're kinda rare, but I can give it a shot.  We could probably see if we can find one at the Violet Tent, maybe..."
