[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole
"I thank him of course. I...kinda need to faint him, but it would be a bit unfair to let fainted with the danger to be attack by some sort of predator so I caugh him and sent to my PC to be threat in the pokemon Center. That remind when we finish things here, I will need to send a message to Mallorn about what to do about Crustle. Or maybe I can post a message and wait for any proporsal what someone can trade. A overgrow Crustle with Rock Wrecker, one of the most powerfull rock-types moves....man that might value something neat. You think this value a HM-Fly Nathan? Just asking."

Heart was impress and congrats the member of the team. "Oh a Shinx its a awesome pokemon. Strong, quick and a good typing as eletric. You should raise and take of him Warren, for him to grow to a big and strong Luxray." Heart raise a eyebrown and talk again. "Well, If I would find a Mega Stone I would keep to myself. Never know when you might find a Sabbleye and bond with him to be able to Mega Evolve. Better be prepare than sorry like they say."

Nathan looks at Heart carefully for a moment...nods.

"Well, whatever you decide, I'd recommend finding him a good home he can be happy in, even if it's not with you.  I'm sure he'll appreciate not being left to the mercies of the caves no matter what's decided.  Not nearly valuable enough for an HM user, though.  I can't think of any reason someone would purposely part with a pokemon that can use a proper HM.  And the HM itself would be even more ridiculously expensive..."  Nathan sighs.  "...I've heard of it happening before, people scamming ignorant trainers willing to pay exorbitant prices for the mere promise of even a common pokemon knowing a proper HM...it's sad, really..."

He nods at the next part.

"Luxray's x-ray vision is certainly handy.  It's kept my dad out of trouble...or gotten him out of it...more than a few times from the stories he's told me..."  The reply sounds rather...bittersweet.

He shrugs again quickly though.

"Considering how much Ditto was enjoying trying to bite into the Mega Stone, I'm sure it won't be long before we run into a Sableye down here.  The real trick would be establishing that bond with it when it does appear...that's gonna take a lot of time and patience no matter how you spin the story...and maybe a life threatening event or two afterwards."  Nathan looks down at Ralts as he says that last part.  Again, it sounds rather...bittersweet.

And then the topic changes again. "Well, looks like Mr. Finder is ready to get moving again. Time to delve ever deeper..."

"Yeah. I still thinking if I should take care of that Crustle, but I kinda already a bunch of disobedient pokemon to deal with. I will discover what to do when we return to Cress City after our mission."

"You dad have a good taste for pokemon. Luxray is kinda...difficult to tame and usually very proud, but when you tame, its a friend for the rest of life." Rose was get up and Heart look to her. They did a handpunch together to signal their bond. "Its times like this I would like to exist a Infernarite or something. That way Rose would be much more stronger than she already is. Imagine how much stronger a Mega Infernape would be. They are already quick. Imagine in Mega Form. But I think such thing do not exist. Not far as I know at least."

Notes: This area of mud, with a little trickling stream, seems like it will yield multiple Hurtloam.

(I couldn't find the definition of hurtloam, but hopefully that's fine)

Nathan is looking around the cavern very carefully upon entering.  Calam perked up and started looking towards the water...

...and Nathan's not sure if he's seeing things, but he thinks he saw a Sharpedo in the general direction that Calam was looking...

'...is there salt water nearby?  Maybe some of these underground rivers eventually connect to the ocean? Is this why Rhea found a Carvanha egg in Mt. Sentry?'

Regardless, Nathan doesn't want to engage something as dangerous as a Sharpedo if it can be avoided...

"...guys, Calam seems to think there's something dangerous in the water...I think I saw a Sharpedo in there...I don't think we should bother it...maybe try and stay away from the water if at all possible..."

He can see lights in the water as well...hmmm...looks like...Finneon and Chinchou, potentially?  Both are known for their luminesence...though Finneon usually light up because they store sunlight...

Well, regardless, it seems like one of those Chinchou is actually near the surface of the water near the shore.  And if it has Illuminate...

...it might attract Sharpedo eventually...

Nathan quickly and quietly heads over to the water to see what he can do to remedy that should it prove necessary...(he makes sure to tell Heart and Valder where he's going and why, btw)

Swiftfire gets to stay with Mr. Finder this time to help protect him should something happen.

Challenge: easy
Note: Freshwater variant is heretofore unknown!

Fishing is also available, for food or random Pokemon. A better Rod will yield better results - let me know if you're baited for catching food or for Pokemon. Looks like Finneon will be common.

The lake is surrounded by Roggenrola standing 'guard', though they're generally not hostile unless accidentally provoked. These are unlimited.

Notable, Shiva was pleased that the path she has cleared turned out the one leading them further to their destination according to Mr. Finder and his sweet Slurpuff. It shows as it allures a coy smile to herself accompanied by some joyful and almost a tad bit proud feelings - on the second thought, Dagny has mentioned stony puzzled being associated with the Library, in a flash of wondering and mild curiosity she asked herself whether there'll be more of such puzzled down here.

That hour-long walking down that particular tunnel also gave Shiva a feeling of discomfort, in her mind the image of venturing down deeper and deeper manifests. Have they already gone below the ground, was it still raining in Cress City? She's unable to find out - silently, she makes sure that Ventus was still holding her hand and that the Infiltrator-Absol is close to her.

Eventually, that as well as the sight of an UNDERGROUND LAKE brings back some of her joy - t-that was where the distant sound of water possibly came from when they all were traveling through Mount Sentry to reach Cress City! Swiftly she gave Ven's hand a thankful squeeze for his silent support in easing her worry, then heads over to take a closer look at that lake - Will its water be drinkable?

Halfway however, she stops - that side stream caught her attention. Or to be more specific, these golden specks in it did - Something in her mind ringed, at first rather distant, then at increased volume, as Shiva drew her journal to page through it in eager, seemingly searching for something specific. Eventually, an expression of fascinated delight flashed over her! "Indeed!", she spoke up softly, "in such fertile valleys where water once runs - or in this case, where it still runs tricklingly - Hurtloam can possibly be found!~" Halfway on preparing to search for this specail mud in particular however with Furret's help, Shiva stopped in her motion - Dizzy was staring towards the lake, having his gaze seemingly fixated on something that she couldn't see yet. She noticed these Roggenrola 'standing guard' - what do they guard, though?

She pondered, was undisclosed what to do. Eventually, the trust in an Abol's danger sense won over her fascination over a potential source of valuable Hurtloam - before she'll go investigate what Dizzy has picked up there, her Furret is asked to come to her side, as Shiva has a small request for him: "Furret, dear one - please help Heart and Valder searching for some Hurtloam within this trickling stream. Pretend as you're in the Clay Pits of this Mountain, don't be afraid to dig and stain your fur! I'll clean and brush you later in return. Alright?" ... "Now then", she told in a faintly eager voice as she got up from her knees again and turned towards 'her' young Absol, "Dizzy - please lead me to what you're worried about."

Before she went off however, she shoots Nathan a look that clearly shows worry and a desire to leave the water as it was. "Yes, Dizzy has picked up something about that lake as well. If it's a Sharpedo however... eek......" *cold shivers* Regardless of the water of this lake being drinkable or not, Shiva won't touch the water surface, no way, and will make sure that her Pokemon don't either. Though...more wondering, as these usually reside in salty water.

As soon as it turns out to be a Frillish, Shiva stops on the spot - well, Frillish she knows, but according to her knowledge these usually reside at beaches and shores, not at....underground lakes? Hmmmm. Anyway, in another swift movement Yena is summoned to her side, as the butterwolfly was her answer to any Ghost Type. Before she gives order however, she makes sure to get a good look at this particular Frillish - how does it behave, what state is it, are there any visible 'quirks' about it? And...does it react to the Cleanse Tag in her cloak's pocket?

----------------
Mechanics:
You can roll out Init Order right away Iron, as Yena will battle that Frillish* once Shiva was able to determine what may be special about it - I hope that Dizzy will help me in this battle, also - curious to see he behaves when facing a foe. Leader-Furret is asked to help Valder and Heart hauling in some Hurtloam meanwhile.

Heart approach Valder when he was going to the direction of the strange light. "Can I join with you Valder? It's not a good idea to follow this place alone." Heart release Patrat from his pokeball. Since he live here he might help to digger the mysterious thing.

Action: Heart will join with Valder to take the Hurtloam @Iron. And since Patrat live here, it might help.

Water near Hurtloam is ALWAYS drinkable! Further away, near that lake, there are weird minerals (including some salt, by the smell) and algaes that are less drinkable.

You see the shape of the Frillish rising up from the water, unperturbed by the Cleanse Tag since it is partially stashed away. As it reaches the surface, you do see it jet a few more feet away, not liking your Grass-aligned Cleanse Tag, but not quite being able to identify it. The Pokemon floats up out of the water and hovers a foot above the surface, a luminous ghostlight of chartreuse, not pink or blue. This bioluminescent underground Pokemon has no eyes at all, but a coy smile of its own. It seems quite curious about humans, but Shiva can tell those tentacles would sting mightily if they were to explore human skin. As the Frillish floats closer, gathering its courage, it leaves a trail of shiny phosphorescent scales on the water.

Dizzy: (2) + 4 Dex + 4 Survival = 10
Shiny Frillish: (5) + 2 Dex + 3 Survival = 10
Yena: (3) + 5 = 8

Frillish is close enough for Brawl attacks, though the Dark Pokemon will get their feet wet.

Chinchou is in hunting mode! It's dipping its antennae back and forth, crawling along the muddy bank with its fins and little underdeveloped feet. When it sees how large Nathan is, it calmly starts bumbling away in the other direction.

It definitely has Illuminate. Nothing else seems unusual about it, aside from living deep underground instead of deep underwater. The lake does look very deep, though.
