[Meta thread] Iron's PokeRole Adventure: The Skull Ruins

Hmmm...well, unfortunately, looking at it again, the 'flinch' is a big 'maybe', so best not to rely on it it seems...

However, I can likely guarantee putting 2 of those Geodude to sleep before they have a chance to go boom (Geodude aren't known for being fast).  I can spend some Will to help ensure those Hypnosis attacks land.  Once all the enemies are asleep/KOed, some Razor Leaf attacks (and other grass and water moves) should ensure they're ALL KOed before any of them wake up.

We'll probably still take a heavy hit, but we won't be taking THREE heavy hits.  And I doubt they'd use a lethal Explosion since they're a group of four wild pokemon.

Another note: even if they Self Destruct, if multiple Geodude were to do so, they'd do lethal damage to each other (which again, I don't think they want to do).  That basically makes this a guessing game of 'which one do you think will go boom?'

So you're indeed up for battling that Carbink + three Geodude? K. If that's the case, I'll follow, but hopefully it doesn't turn out to a follow into one's own doom. Starting the battle is Nathan's task then.

Yes, please spend these Will Points to ensure sucessful Hypnosis. We can discuss later what to do with the Carbink IF we manage to catch it, I'll let you register it it to your OT and ID.

@Iron

Would it be possible to try ambushing Carbink and the Geodude to get off a preemptive Hypnosis with Ralts before they realize what's happening? (since the rock pokemon are staring at the group, Ralts could just easily stare back and make one of them drowsy in theory)

Sorry the delay guys. Having fun in Skyrim. Have finished the Mage College quests, became Arc-Mage, getting a Mana-absorb Staff and a awesome Mask/clothes. And having throwing fire balls.

I think not, as all parties are aware of each other and the ambush "round" has already taken place.

K... @Dragonstrike, after seeing that these stony Pokemon are all willing to knock out themselves and definitely risk a cave-in (they're Rock Type - they likely don't care if the tunnel collapses!) to seemingly protect something valuable for them, I'd really not want to engage in a battle against them. I respect your battle plan, but I'd rather not risk massive damage to us, our Pokemon and Mr. Finder when the Day has just started and it's only our 2nd Day on the trip to seek the Secret Library. What if one of us faints? Then this chara's Pokemon don't know what to do, to me it feels that too many Rolls need to success in order for a safe battle against them will work out in contrary of a Dexterity Roll on Swiftfire to escape safely. I'd rather not deal with the aftermaths of this Encounter, how pleasant and unpleasant they may be when it clearly can be prevented, while you seem all up to engage in a battle against them.

We should be careful and not take any unnecessary risks! Shiva very welll knows that you shouldn't mess with a Fairy Type, and this Carbink definitely is up to attack us. After that talk with Ven, she doesn't want to take a risk here either, I don't know what reasons Nathan has for nevertheless wanting to take the risky way.

Therefor... I'm calling for XP bidding, please. It's the easiest way since none of us seems willing to back out. If I succeed, we escape and have the huge Durant + our other Pokemon dig a tunnel around the Carbink's territory IF the GM can confirm that this can safely be done and we won't meet the Carbink and the Geodude again, regardless how long it'll take. I'd rather keep it safe.

Durant can Dig through coal and once beyond the rock Pokemon, it will be easy to outrun them and stay ahead of them. To stop you, they'd have to follow you all the way back to where you start the tunnel, or somehow predict where you will tunnel to and ambush you there. With your earlier Insight rolls, you both think they seem to have positioned themselves defending this particular spot, and wouldn't be likely to pursue you if proper precautions are taken.

I'd rather it not come to xp bidding.  Give Nathan a moment to try talking with Carbink a little more.  I'm trying to reduce the risk as much as possible.
