[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole
Flashforward:

Tropius' training/instincts in Bestow include a willingness to hold unpleasant items for a short time if necessary. The Black Sludge is not technically poison damage, but nevertheless Grass types are normally averse to it. Tropius is always a little leery of coal or coal byproducts, since he's basically a giant fern!

(Let it be said that Ventus never fights more fair than what the rules demand/he can get away with! He's pragmatic and cut throat when required, yes he is!)

Letting out a great big *Sigh* of relief as his clever thinking and both Raphael and Malphena combined assault brought total ruin to Golem and Gigalith, Ventus began to calmly survey the scene and mulling over what should be done from here. The now fiendish spirit hunted down the fleeing Gigalith, whooping and crackling in dark glee as they fearfully (and futility) tried to escape her bewitching power before she cursed its soul on last time! Yes, yes, RUN and be afraid Rock types, for it make her feast in the end all the mores scrumptious, te he he!!! His cherish cherub, meanwhile, couldn't help but briefly snicker at ironically demolishing a type they were weak too and at their sister's 'fun' while she enjoyed her post battle meal, before they suddenly blinked at those negative thoughts and shook their head to clear it with a slight worried frown. Nasty Plot may make themselves stronger, but such sinister plotting and feelings brought upon by the Move were alien and always discomforting to them after its influence wanes, and makes them wonder if such power was worth the price in the end ....

Eventually, after some brainstorming of his own and running some estimates on what both Rock types were worth, Ventus opted to just leave the duo alone for the most part, with him recalling Raphael for some well deserved rest and summoning Apsis in their place to help move them off to the side and away from the edge and searching them for any Items and pocketing them. Well, after Malphena had her fill of their fear, of course!  Before his Encounter with Chandelure he might have contemplated just killing the both of them to be on the safe side, but now being enlightened and more conscientious of his......less savory tendacies, he was content of shunting them off to the side. Besides, if they woke up in time they could deal with any Scimitars or people of ill repute and/or delay them, so leaving the alive was entirely in the group's best interests!

Once that task was done, the sociologist took one last good look around the area to make sure all was clear, before smiling and nodding his head and beconned his bewitching sister to his side, with her gleefully obeying with a wickedly content smile and a full tummy.  He then went over to Tropius and mounted them once more, and flew back over to the spot the group designated and waited for everyone to return so that he could give his report and suggest a plan of action to cross the chasm.

"You will be pleased to hear that I have successfully dispatched both the Golem and Gigalith that were barring our way previously with minimal trouble - no, I did not slay them Nathan, in case you were wondering (He only says that part if he suspect they don't trust him not to act cold bloodily) - so we can now proceed unhindered once we all cross the chasm. As for how to do that, I propose we simply have Shiva's Tropius fly us over it one at a time, as that worked quite well for myself. If we want to expedite the process or do not want to overly tire out Tropius, then Nathan could have Ditto Transform into them so that two people at once can be ferried across, reducing the amount of round trips needed substaintially and saving time in the long run. Raphael could also serve to fly someone across if they are tightly bounded to them, but I rather not resort to that option unless we have dire need to vacate this area ASAP. Lucifer can provide Tailwinds to greatly speed up the trips too, though given they were injured in battle I'd like to request that either Ralts or Gustav give them a bit of healing to facilitate his work Pain and discomfort free. Does anyone have objections or additions they wish to add to this plan?"

"I don't expect this to last very long."

He's staring right at that fiery Hippopotas.

He's gonna catch it.  No question.  Ralts looks curiously at Nathan again...yeah, something's definitely changed for Nathan, no doubt about it now...this isn't what he's usually like...

Simple orders time! 3 actions for both Ralts and Solomon.

"Solomon, use Hidden Power please, then Power Gem after you land it.  Ralts, try to shut 'em down, then attack."

Hidden Power (Nathan has his journal out, and is ready to write!)
Accuracy: 9 base - 3/4/5 actions = 6/5/4 D6
Damage: 2 + 3 + HS + SE? = 6 D6 base +1 damage?
Effect: Old Unown message!

Power Gem (after landing Hidden Power)
Accuracy: 2 more than Hidden Power
Damage: 7 D6 base + 1 damage?

Hypnosis
Accuracy: 11 base - 4 accuracy - 3 actions = 4 D6
Effect: sleepy time!

Confusion (if Hippopotas is awake)
Accuracy: 11 - 4/5 = 7/6 D6
Damage: 2 + 3 + STAB + CP = 7 D6 base
Effect: Confusion (1)

Dream Eater(If Hippopotas is asleep) [Nathan didn't specify what to attack with, after all...]
Accuracy: same as Confusion
Damage: 10 D6 base
Effect: Restores HP equal to half the damage dealt (rounded down, min 1 if any damage is dealt).  Fails if target isn't asleep

Once Hippopotas is KOed, we'll chuck a Steel Ball at it.

Flash Forward!

(Yes, Nathan would suspect that Ventus would be inclined to be more...violent)

Nathan has one objection.

"...normally, I'd agree to that plan to use Ditto to expedite the process.  However...it only has one Transformation left in it today.  It's only a few weeks old.  It can't Transform an unlimited number of times like more experienced Ditto can.  I'd rather save that last Transformation for turning back into Gustav for more Heal Pulses unless we absolutely don't need them."

"Well then lets begin!" Say Heart excited to begin the battle. "First of all Koa, use Dragon Dance! Then go ahead with Dual Chop and Slash against the Hippopotas! Hold your Lethal Damage! Gustav! Use your almight Water Pulse! 4x to be more precisely! Lets see if that Hippototas can deal with a Mega Launcher Cannon!" Gustav prepare his cannon to launch against that Hippototas!"

Dragon Dance Accuracy: Dex (3) + Fight (3) + Perfom (0) - Actions (4) = 2d6
Effect: Raise Dex and STR

Dual Chop Accuracy: Dex (3) + Fight (3) + Brawl (3) - Accuracy (1) - Actions (5/6) = 3d6/2d6
Damage: Power (2) + STR (3) + STAB (1) +/- Rivalry (1) = 7d6/6d6
Effect: Double Action

Slash: Dex (3) + Fight (3) + Brawl (3) - Actions (7) = 2d6
Damage: Power (3) + STR (3) +/Rivalry (1) = 7d6/6d6
Effect: Hight Critical Chance. Lethal (Hold)

Water Pulse: Dex (3) + Fight (3) + Canalize (3) - Actions (4/5/6/7) = 5d6/4d6/3d6/2d6
Damage: Power (2) + STR (3) + STAB (1) + Mega Launcher (2) + SE (1) = 8d6+1
Effect: 3D6 chance to confuse the foe.

Ventus mulls over the young's scolar input briefly, before giving them a incline of their head in agreement.

"Fair points, Nathan. To add onto to them, we all may want to consider the idea of continuing to press onwards through the mountain past our usual sleeping hours on to make up for the lost time we spent digging around that Carbink and its posy, so having an extra healer available should any of us run afowl with something less than tolerable would be preferable. Does anyone else have something to add to these suggestions, or should we resume our journey once more?"

Shiva was among the first ones that met up with Ventus again, and as soon as they were within range of each other she came close to him with a greeting smile for him and one moment later as she realized that he's fine, she took one of his hands into hers to give it a gentle squeeze, still looking him into the eyes. "Good to see you!~ Has Tropius behaved himself towards you? ...He has? Great! May I, well have him back then? Here's Grid for you again." After having reached into a pocket of her Cloak, she placed the spider's Ball softly into Ven's hand and joined him on waiting for the others to come back in order to resume the journey.

While doing so, she kept Tropius out of his Pokeball and silently hugged and nuzzled the had of her rare Grass Type to both express that she's delighted to have him back and to reward him for not objecting about being a moult for Ventus - but at some point, she stopped in this exchange of affection and looked at him with a somewhat concerned expression, still keeping his head into her hands. "So, ehm, listen Tropius... Meanwhile I have found something that I'd like to have you carry before I'll send you into important battles, against Gym Leaders and such I mean. But not permanently! With one of your moves you can get rid of it fastly to pester a foe before it might have a negative effect on you, and that's exactly what's intended. It's...this stuff..." *showing the Tropius the Black Sludge in the glass bottle, if Ventus' paying attention he can see it too now if he likes to do so* "So, do you agree to my plea?"

"....You do if necessary? Thank you! I won't impose this this Sludge on you more than necessary, promised!" More cuddles for the grassy Pokemon.

As soon as the others arrive, Tropius is still out while Furret and Azumarill are withdrawn by now and Shiva does greet them with a wave before Ventus spoke his mind concerning what to do about that chasm that posed another obstacle on their way forward and deeper down this mountain. She listened carefully what he had to share, felt honest relief over that Gigalith and Golem being dealt with, and eventually gave him a light punch on the shoulder as soon as he finished speaking and asked for the other's thoughts. When Shiva replied, she had her arms crossed and a mildly huffed expression for Ventus. Seems like with some of his words, he has accidently hit a nerve of hers. "Venny! I'm....I'm right beside you, so please don't speak in the third person of me!" With force, she averted her gaze from the oddball of Sociologist to give him a cold shoulder and show that he messed up with that one detail. Oh well...

As soon as Nathan has given his objection concerning Ditto, she turned back to Ventus again and looked and sounded calmer again, but not completely happy with him again yet. "Ditto's help is not necessary in the first place, I guess. Tropius has already flown me over the roofs of Stair City, and I guess he's strong enough to carry two of us at one time. Are you, dear one?" *inserts a reaction from him that expresses confirmation* "Ah, good. So, ehm, in that case I guess it's be easiest if me and Mr. Finder fly over at first, then I'll have Tropius return to you bring two of you over the chasm, then return once more to take the other two of us. That makes a total of three times my Pokemon has to carry two people and two times where he crosses the gap without a moult. Tropius, if you get tired, please let me know - then me and Gothitelle will help you staying in the air with a Telekinesis. That is...if none of you would be averse against the sensation of psychic power used on you."

(I'm wondering if that's possible for Lilith, are her powers strong enough to keep a 200kg-Tropius in the air for a short time? I'm positive that her Telekinesis has enough strength to keep an average human in the air, but such a heavy and big Pokemon?)
