True, I should say damaging HMs. Flash can't be compared to the others. It's not useless like it is in the handheld games, though.

My planned team for her actually may or may not have a Rock Smasher on it, and I don't plan on bringing Michael in the fight since he's been in two Gym Battle already so far and I want Ven's other Pokémon to get the cut of XP/Lime light. That, and not to have him trivialize things with either Façade, Spore, or STAB Rock Smash this time around; Ven's pragmatic, but he does have a modicrum of respect for 'fair' fighting!

I've determined 2 of the four I'll be bringing for sure.  Just have to figure out what the other two will be...team members 3 and 4 are yet undecided.

I'm probably not going to use Calam, though.  I don't think I'll need to bring his super duper strength to that particular battle.  (Unlike Dagny, where I definitely needed my heaviest, most reliable hitters for sure)

Gems are beautiful, shiny and mean cash that can be used to buy useful stuff later down the line!~ *stands up for the gems* But true, I headdesked in shaaame as it's been revealed that these weren't the actual gift by the captain.


Rock Smash uses Brawl Speciality, so sadly Shiva can't put it into much use in-battle. It's a different HM she's after. However, I'm having three questions anyway concerning it, please:

1. Corebook doesn't state the move as 'fist-based' directly, but I'm imagining a 'powerful hit' as a blow that'd be dealt with the Pokemon's fists if it's having hands. Pancham can learn the move, and I'd happily teach it to him - will it be powered up by his Iron Fist Ability or not to your discretion?

2. The Marowak me and Ventus caught can learn the move as well. If we teach it to them and then trade or sell them away alongside their held Thick Club, will that raise their value a little, decently or very much? Would it be legal to give them into other's hands with Rock Smash in their move pool at all, or would the League disapprove if they'd find out? If so, could Ventus STILL trade them away in Corsage Port?

3. Weird, only the Gen.I and Gen.IV Eeveelutions can learn Rock Smash for some reason, Eevee itself obviously can't, neither can Nucleon. A pity, it'd be cool to see an Espeon breaking a rock simply with psychic force. If I'd teach this move to my female Vaporeon however, would the Eevee-offsprings bear the gene of that move similar like these Rattata bear the Cut gene and have it in their movepool if evolved into a compatible Eeveelution, means Shiva will be able to spread the move further by giving out these Eevees to interested people? (Would....that possibly earn her a scholarship at Telperion, if such a breeding project would be League-approved?)

(...) Haunter would need to evolve into Gengar first before he could learn the move. Up to you if you want to evolve him, though!

Me and @Nylon agreed that we'd do a round trade to both evolve Valder's Haunter and my Kadabra to their final form in one go. With Alakazam obeying Shiva if he doesn't mess up his Insight-Check, I'm down to do that trade whenever you want to, Valder - just let me know, K?

Oh yes, about that...Mallorn's pokedex allows trading without needing a PC, so it could be done while we're underground in theory if you wish.

However, I don't know if the Almanac has a similar feature, so it'd probably be better to wait until we're back on the surface.

Helios isn't even with me at the moment, lol, so doing that Round Trade now isn't an option. *pages through some things* The Almanac can handle trades though, yay!
