[Meta thread] Iron's PokeRole Adventure: The Skull Ruins
(05-23-2018, 02:16 PM)Nylon Wrote:  Pardon me for being late as always.
The pineco wasn't sent anywhere (though I could always change this). When we reach a point where there could be league officials Valder will hopefully have given one of the 7 pokes back.
I believed this was fine as long as they're not out at the same time and as long an official doesn't see it.

Please enlighten me if I'm being stupid, because I often am Tongue.

There's nothing wrong with that, but there's one issue: the automated system built into the Pokeballs and Bill's PC don't allow for a trainer to keep ahold of more than 6 pokeballed pokemon for more than an hour in this campaign (see when Nathan caught Masq the Shiny Unfezant for an example).  After an hour has passed, the most recently caught pokemon is sent to Bill's PC automatically (which would be Delta Pineco in this case). There's no circumventing this either due to Bill's techno wizardry defying all applicable physics and engineering stuff in favor of the game mechanics. So unless you were to say otherwise, Delta Pineco will be sent to the PC by default.

BTW, Iron was also kind enough to create this document to help keep track of our current party composition more easily (it can be edited publicly and anonymously, so don't go putting secret stuff on that document). He recommended saving that link somewhere (like on the Quickpage of the Character Sheet).

In the pre battle set up Azu can definitely buff all our Pokémon along with Raphael unless Iron says otherwise, which he hasn't objected too yet! For a priority list DURING battle, Azu should be focused on Bubbling those Firokes, and then neatly transition to Rock Smashing stuff instead of Helping Handing the Pokémon at that point. I'm a little confused why she/you brought this up in the game thread, since I though this was clear and tacitically approve in the Meta Thread, unless I'm missing something.....?

Nevermind, possibly - likely - I just confused myself to some degree yesterday night with the Helping Hands due to overthinking. σ( ̄、 ̄〃) I'll just delete that part in my post now. In that case, it'll be done as you neatly clarified here again: Everyone will be boosted with a Helping Hand from Azu before the plan is put into action (will need no Rolls), while I can pull off 4 Actions of Bubble against the Firoke.

That means, I can save the XP for leveling up Perform Speciality at this point, actually... If I had two more XP, I'd sink it into Survival Skill now.

@Lord Windos

So, if we're properly swapping Lucifer to Nathan temporarily, I guess that means Ventus gets to keep ahold of Ditto for now?

For easy reference, these are the moves it can use as a Herolune (since Ventus has 3 Gym Badges, same as Nathan) if you happen to need to use it for some reason:
- Tackle
- Growl
- Bulldoze
- Howl
- Low Kick
- Endure
- Wide Guard
- Bone Rush
- Bulk Up
- Entrainment
- Hammer Arm
- Leer
- Drain Punch

Its Ability as a Herolune is Mold Breaker.  It has taken 1 damage so far, just like Lucifer (which would put Ditto at 8/9 in Ventus's care and Lucifer at 5/6 in Nathan's). It is also completely unable to Transform for the duration of Day 60 and is stuck as a Herolune.

Get to keep Delta Pineco in the party, but you'll have to send one of the other 6 pokemon in your party to the PC (Theo, Haunter, Mamo, Starmie, Grid, or Zippy.  Except you can't send Zippy back because he's currently in captivity due to the Seikamater.  Grid might be, too).

Personally, my recommendation is to just send Delta Pineco to the PC since it's not as useful to the group atm as everything else you currently have on hand.

If you specify that any other of your/Nathan's Pokémon gets sent away, they get boxed instead. I HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND A G A I N S T  T H I S, Nylon, as Delta Pinco is nowhere near as useful or obedience as Grid, Starmie, or the rest of your Pokémon right now, so PLEASE just send your latest catch to the PC.....

Guess so, eh? If anything, if they get sent out they'll likely be used to sponge hits with Endure and Wide Guard, OR being sent with Valder so they can held guard the cave's entrance in exchange for Starmie if it still is able to use either Wide Guard or Bulldoze.  Which option would be more effective/Viable, mate?

Also, shouldn't Lucifer have healed to Full HP by now, due to time elapsing during the journey towards Seika?

Bulldoze is usable no matter who has Ditto (but just like EQ, it also hits your allies, so...).  To use Wide Guard, you need to have 2 significant achievements (such as Gym Badges) under your belt (Wide Guard is learned at level 22/with 22 exp).  Don't know what Valder has done that might qualify as a significant achievement, though, as that'll be at Iron's discretion.  On another note, though, Starmie has Swift on top of its incredibly power Water STABs, which could help with fending off the bugs should it prove necessary.  Might be better to leave Herolune Ditto with the ones who might end up directly engaging Seikamater so he can protect everyone with Wide Guard should it prove necessary (the attacks are probably still going to hurt quite a lot, but Wide Guard should help everyone stomach a blow or two more).

Maybe?  If we definitely had 3 encounters worth of time between now and the Whirlipede Stampede, then yeah, he'd have regained that 1 HP.

Why is Wide Guard a Rock Type move?! No wonder I couldn't find it in the Corebook right away...

Eh, yes, after reading its description I'd rather have Herolune being saved shall it come to directly attacking Seika. The question is how many Pokemon he'd be able to protect, the Icon says ALL allies - that'd help us greatly, indeed, but it'll probably be the same amount that can be hit with a ranged attack from our side.
