[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole

Okay...so writing is more notable.  Next thing to test:

"Solomon, could you use Hidden Power, please?  Not on Unown, but on the wall next to it."

Solomon nods and blasts away.

You can tell when looking closely that Solomon's letters are not Pokemon - they don't move, they just waver. If your journal is still out, Unown Thorn is still glowing and Solomon's aren't. Unown slides away from the attack, but doesn't flee. It returns to the site of the Hidden Power and seeks thoroughly for a good opening but doesn't seem to find one. So it goes off a few feet to stand on its own, until the HP fades.

Yes, it was as Shiva may have suspected - from Cottonee's natural and totally unafraid demanour, she could be safe that this 'statue' was at least partly a real dragon. But...why was she herself feeling so DRAWN to this unknown dragon? Why in Reshiram's holy name was she enjoying its presence, didn't experience any of the urge to deal with it like she usually did with any wild dragon? Neither could she pick up any of her fluffball's usual reactions when there's a dragon nearby, no floofing up. Instead, she felt totally fine. Was this unknown Pokemon....a potential friend for Cottonee??

One thing she knew however: This dragon looked extremely cute when miming to sleep. Just as cute and dear as Ven sleeping, if not more. Aww! "Sleeping, you mean? Ah! You've selected quite a fine spot for your rest, among all this grass and these...orchids... For you." The Kirlia Slipper that Shiva was holding in her hand is kindly offered to Luxi. If it's purring, it may accept it as a small gift?

"Aren't you cold though, taking your hours of sleep in this cavern? I am getting cold from simply sitting here with you, but my cloak is keeping me all warm. One particular Pokemon of mine is also always cuddling up to me during the nights, her fluff is soaking up the sunlight to give it off during sleep. Or so it feels... It's this white wad of cotton here, my most dear Pokemon. Say hello to each other, will you?"

What that message says gets a good chuckle out of Nathan.  He scribbles some more stuff in his journal...

...then turns it around and shows it to Unown.

He's written something in it, but left a spot open.

__E DAY OF FRIENDSHIP is what he wrote (in Old/Elder Unown, though.  According to my notes, I believe we've seen enough of the script for this to be written out with minimal errors.)

How does Unown 'thorn' react to that?

The tiny dragon affixes the orchid to its back. Ceramic chips rise up to hold it in place.

Cottonee and the dragon get to know each other. Luxi nuzzles Cottonee and sneezes. Cottonee is carefully patting Luxi with a leaf and kind of flying around investigating it. Having never met a Pokemon of this species, Cottonee isn't sure yet if they'll be great friends or not. Luxi acts very politely, but doesn't open up. You think it probably hasn't had many friendship experiences, being deep in the earth like this and spending much of its time as a statue.

Yep, Unown Thorn leaves the wall and tries to scoot over onto the page! It's much too large, of course, being bigger than your entire journal. The Futhark are even larger than normal Unown. So it just hovers there next to your journal, waiting to see what happens next.

It doesn't react to the content of the sentences.

A few Slakoth slowly work their way over. One of them gives Heart a flat shard of mica stone.

Another chuckle from Nathan.

"Well, it's certainly nice to see that enthusiasm.  I've been studying your 'language' if you couldn't tell.  It's thanks to Solomon here that it's even been possible for us to understand it in the first place."

Nathan scribbles something else in his journal.

"If you would humor me for a moment...today's a special day, you know.  The day that we really take the time to appreciate that special bond between friends...I can't help but notice that you're...well, the only one of your kind around at the moment, I guess?  Are there other Elder Unown around somewhere?"

He flips the journal around again.  One page says YES in Elder Unown, the other says NO.  Hopefully 'thorn' gets the idea, since that'll make answering the question easier.
