Weavile knows that Reiner's referring to when the Elders took the Dragon Scales, followed by Lucy when they went to retrieve the items.  [Fun fact: if they hadn't taken the purple Dragon Scale that Jeff shed along with the normal one from Reiner's own Seadra, none of Reiner's tragic story in this campaign would have ever happened.]

Eventually, she settled on letting out a *Hurmpt* in response and settled back down in your lap, aloofly waiting for you to resume the pleasant grooming - so long as you avoid the ears, that is. You could tell that her aggrevation towards you has diminished, though, so you were able to get through to her a bit! Ridia penalties are reverted due to the quality time spent with her!

Weavile yet again rolled his eyes and let out a sigh, this one a bit more exaggerated and put upon to make it more theatrical, slinging an arm across your back and making a dismissive gesture with the other, all while still giving you that confident smirk. Who gives the damn whether or not the Elders were 'right' about you?

They're the ones responsible for ruining you life and shunting you down the path of chaotic/dangerous (though very  profitable and self serving, admitidly) criminal hood.

They're the ones that nursed and manipulated Clair vengeful/redemptive feelings for you and sent her and the rest of the Tohjo Dragon Tamers on the war path, all because they were too carven and paranoid to leave well enough alone!

As far as the black feline was concerned, you were FAR from entitled to prove anything but hell frozen over to them with all the shit they've put your through with their senile and fearful machinmations! So bollucks to that idea! Quit worry about proving yourself to a bunch of old people that will never accept or think of you kindly or worthy, and instead just do what you really want. Even though they'll have their disagreements on what is the 'best' path forward, he's behind you 100% of the way! Partners stick together through thick and thin, and he's not planning on changing that dynamic!

[All I'm just doing at this point is......enlivening things for humdrum old you. Don't you agree how boring or uninteresting things would be without me, lurking in the background, and the dark corners of your mind, trying to figure out exactly what I'm up to? Hehehehe......]

A hum of approval was issued from Big Sis as you resumed the grooming, content with the simple pleasure of your figures parting her fur and scratching all the hard to reach itches. Ahh.....if only you had a brush or other hair care products, like the pompous rich trainers she's robbed or begged a meal/Item off of.....



The cat thief's smirk was erased and replaced with a look scrunched up look of befuddlement as you revealed that Clair wanted to help him in his goals to transform Blackthor,n and strip it of its hidebound traditionalism/improve it. What?  As far as he knew, that bitch would sooner pledge allegence to Pryce than ever seriously entertain the idea of abandoning her hard ass and strict adherence to the 'good old Blackthorn way' , so he must be missing some important details here.

When you trailed off at the end and refused to meet his gaze, Weavile's confusion only grew as he wonder what in the heck you were so hesitant to-

Oh.

Weavile's expression morphed into one of stunned disbelief, as he slowly pieced together the various details and clues he's picked up for you and you.

Clair's disappearance after THAT battle......Mew's subsequent breakdown and soon to be lose of emotion.......his partner's immense stress and guilt about both.

It was all connected.

She didn't just up and flee after getting her ass handed to her by Reiner.

She was mulched.

By Mew. Somehow, for some reason.

The pink fuzz ball couldn't handle it.

......and now Reiner has to pick up the scatter remains of both those Arceas damned messes, and still find a way to make it all work .

No wonder they're so angry, mopey, philosophical, and just plain tired and miserable , despite trying to repress it or keep a semi positive attitude around him and their Pokémon.

Just as quick as it came, the shock faded, replaced by a neutral frown on his face as he silently listened to them mourn the loss of their cousin.

Then, and only after you were finished and lapsed into silence.....

....

....he hugged you.

Nothing fancy, just a simple hug. To show he's there for you, and that he understands.

He couldn't claim to share the same love or compassion for Clair as his partner - he honestly didn't care for her all that much after repeatedly having his furry ass demolished and thrown back into the Ice Path for 'tresspassing' into Blackthorn - but that doesn't mean he couldn't still be their for them and give them strength.

They'll get through this together, with Kingdra, Arbok, and all the other allies they've made this past crazy week alone.

.....and then they'll get revenge on those bastards that were responsible for setting her up for death. Count on it.

Ahh.....if only you had a brush or other hair care products, like the pompous rich trainers she's robbed or begged a meal/Item off of.....



The cat thief's smirk was erased and replaced with a look scrunched up look of befuddlement as you revealed that Clair wanted to help him in his goals to transform Blackthor,n and strip it of its hidebound traditionalism/improve it. What?  As far as he knew, that bitch would sooner pledge allegence to Pryce than ever seriously entertain the idea of abandoning her hard ass and strict adherence to the 'good old Blackthorn way' , so he must be missing some important details here.

When you trailed off at the end and refused to meet his gaze, Weavile's confusion only grew as he wonder what in the heck you were so hesitant to-

Clair's disappearance after THAT battle......Mew's subsequent breakdown and soon to be lose of emotion.......his partner's immense stress and guilt about both.

She didn't just up and flee after getting her ass handed to her by Reiner.

She was mulched.

By Mew. Somehow, for some reason.

The pink fuzz ball couldn't handle it.

......and now Reiner has to pick up the scatter remains of both those Arceas damned messes, and still find a way to make it all work .

No wonder they're so angry, mopey, philosophical, and just plain tired and miserable , despite trying to repress it or keep a semi positive attitude around him and their Pokémon.

Just as quick as it came, the shock faded, replaced by a neutral frown on his face as he silently listened to them mourn the loss of their cousin.

Then, and only after you were finished and lapsed into silence.....

Nothing fancy, just a simple hug. To show he's there for you, and that he understands.

He couldn't claim to share the same love or compassion for Clair as his partner - he honestly didn't care for her all that much after repeatedly having his furry ass demolished and thrown back into the Ice Path for 'tresspassing' into Blackthorn - but that doesn't mean he couldn't still be their for them and give them strength.

They'll get through this together, with Kingdra, Arbok, and all the other allies they've made this past crazy week alone.

.....and then they'll get revenge on those bastards that were responsible for setting her up for death. Count on it.

And as far as he knows, she's still working on...that.

To say he hadn't at least partially meant what he said wouldn't be accurate.  However, he is rather grief stricken and emotionally overwhelmed right now as well, so some of what he says should be taken with a grain of salt...
