[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole

...well, here's Part 2 of Nathan's stuff to do in the Library, I suppose.

1. Healing Charmeleon and Juliet back to full HP, obviously.  Juliet gets to hang with Kirlia for a little while since there's some downtime

2. Seeing if there's any books in the Library with information on this 'Masking' that Heart mentioned, and if it really is a Ghost type...also curious to see if Nathan can find any information on that flightless Tropius.

3. Teaching Charmeleon the Rock Smash HM as thanks for all the trust and hard work!  Nathan stresses that it's important for Charmeleon to not use the move unless he gives him the go ahead since there's many League enforced rules in place concerning its usage.  Fortunately, usage in Gym Battles is okay, and it could give Charmeleon an edge he otherwise wouldn't have.  Hope he's looking forward to battling Tanuki with a powerful Fighting type move in his arsenal!

4. Finding Valder.  Partially to tell him about Celebi's gift (he makes sure Ventus isn't within earshot), partially to see if Valder needs any more help with the books here.  And also to inquire with him about that other Eviolite Ventus mentioned that Valder had...(would that second Eviolite be something you'd be willing to part with, @Nylon?)

5. Has Solosis woken up by this point?

Still have some more stuff to do after this as well.

Nathan finds a book on the history of Feng Huang's time, a book from 1601 called 'A Bestiary of Imported Pokemon' with Masking's movelist and picture, and a drawer full of VERY ancient gaming tiles showing a flightless Tropius. It has a picture of a rock and a picture of a leaf in one corner. The gaming tiles also show yet another altered Genesect - this one has huge weights on all its limbs and strong muscles.

3. Charmeleon cannot wait to use this. Would have been nice against Dagny!

5. Eventuallly, Solosis comes to. Solosis is very skittish, but seems to feel more comfortable around Nathan than any of the other party members. Mostly, though, she hides behind whatever's nearest if she has the chance.

Slaking reminds you that you'll need to set new riddles soon if you want to guarantee the Scimitars can't get in here.

Yep, Awaken the Blood can even max out Loyalty! As you peruse the genealogy, both Kirlia and Gothitelle are happening by. At the same moment, they both curl up into their trance states. The Library's high and Unown-carved roof splits open, revealing a field of four bright twinkles amidst endless black holes and dying stars in the Charizard constellation. And Kirlia creates a dimensional rift as he has before, showing a prophecy that is clearly related to Gothitelle's: a descent by rope into the depths of the Skull Ruins. In the vision, four hands reach out for four ancient treasure chests....then the rift closes.

You don't find the Egg yet, but there's a lot of library to explore.

2.  Huh.  So Juliet's species is indeed called Masking...nothing about the species being Ghost type, though...hmmm...

...is this Primal Tropius naturally Grass/Rock type?  Interesting...

...that Genesect picture isn't something he was looking for at this exact moment, but hey, it's still cool.  He'll have to look into Genesect a little more in a little bit...he doesn't want to do anything too time consuming quite yet...



5.  (Ah!  Finally, a gender for Solosis!)  Phew...that's a huge weight off Nathan's shoulders.  He was a little worried about what Solosis might have thought about him...

He still tries to be gentle with Solosis though.  Give her a little more freedom since it's likely a very precious thing for her.

"...you doing okay, Solosis?  Been a rather rough time for ya, right?  Sorry about having to put you through the wringer a few times myself...hey, when you're ready, let's go talk to that Slowking with the Delta Shellder crown and find out how to set ya free from those Scimitars, alright?"



...and when Slaking reminds everyone about the riddle thing, this is the first Nathan's heard of that.

...makes Nathan just a little more frustrated.  However, he does go to find everyone immediately to start discussing this.  No more putting it off!

No obstacle is strong enough to seperate Shiva from both Delphox and Lilith now. <3 That vision of the latter... it seems to be that deep within the Skull Ruins the root of all evil lies, the though of them all soft-having to descent down there themselves gives Shiva an unpleasant shiver. But, Yena will protect her from the ghosts there... Luxi will certainly rejoice over what valuable treasure can be found down there.

Hmpf! If that's the case, Shiva will search for the Egg with all of her Pokemon currently in her party (See Quickpage), everyone's in charge for a different section of the Library. "Make sure to look EVERYWHERE, dear ones! Note me if you found it or hints to it. But please also make sure to not cause a ruccus here in Atheneum, we're guests down here!"

However, he does go to find everyone immediately to start discussing this.  No more putting it off!

Shiva seems a bit reluctant to meet up with everyonelse just now unless for the intention to start on their way back to the surface as she's rather have her alone time in Atheneum, but silently she agrees if that meeting won't take long. She'll continue noming fruits half the meeting however, Alakazam, Lilith and Delphox stay out with her.

"Talk ahead about what's wrong, Nathan. Please ask for a meeting in a little more kind way the next time and I may be willing to attend it right away."

Shiva seems a reluctant to meet up with everyonelse just now unless for the intention to start on their way back to the surface as she's rather have her alone time in Atheneum, but silently she agrees if that meeting won't take long. She'll continue noming fruits half the meeting however, Alakazam, Lilith and Delphox stay out with her.

That's not really helping to quell Nathan's frustration.  "...we all know what's wrong here, Shiva.  The Scimitars are coming.  And the sooner we deal with it, the more time we'll have to relax.  There's other things too, but they can wait until we've dealt with the Scimitar issue."

He pauses, takes a deep breath to try and calm down a little.

"...okay, so...riddles.  They get three wrong, they can't enter Atheneum.  Before we come up with any new riddles, what were the riddles we all received?  As I was trying to say before we came in here, mine was:"

I am Earthpower given form. I am your treatment of your neighbor and your brother. I rule the skies, the sea, and the earth, and they rule me as well. I am a champion of Nature, and I change as She changes; thus, my power is unmatched. Who am I?  

"I'd suggest not stating the answer to any of the riddles right away.  Give everyone a chance to think about what the answer to each one might be so we have a better idea of how tricky they might be to solve.  If the riddles are tough enough, we might not have to change them.  Or if they're too easy, we'll definitely have to.  We only need three good ones, but the more we come up with, the less likely it is they'll be able to get in."

Nathan looks at Ventus.

"Yours was a battle, right?  How difficult was that fight exactly?"

A massive sigh escapes Shiva, she doesn't even care to make it impercible. "Bah. These Scimitars.... They're probably not knocking at Atheneum's door THAT soon, but you're probably right that they shouldn't make an appearance anywhere near the Gauntlet. Or the Stone. Or us.... Because if they do, they will pay." *suggestive glance over to Ventus, before due to thinking of the Scims she makes a face as if there was a lemon hidden among the fruit she was happily noming and she hasn't noticed until it was too late*



"Humm. Give me a little and I'll come up with suggestions for riddles that they might - will - hopefully struggle with. Mine were:

"I Splash in the stream and I follow my dream and I grew and I flew and you can too. What Pokemon am I?"

Shiva however looks at Nathan, in a less annoyed but still deadpan expression. "Eh... You know, given the state I found you in after the battle, dear, I guess it was definitely hard. Darmanitan usually rely on brute force, and these very very few exemplars that are able to enter a Zen-like trance are also capable to let loose an enormous amount of psychic energy if triggered enough."

"This time, I must agree. As much those Scimitars is having problems in find this place, we still need to deal with them. Even more they are in the entrance of Mt. Sentry, sending Reuniculus and Solosis to search though this place. Those guy will not giving up yet. And I agree with Nathan to discuss that issue, now. Because if not, when? Also my riddle was:"

"Some call me the first step to slavery, some the first step to friendship. Fruit of the bush and work of human hand. Who am I?"
