Fair enough. Didn't think it would be much of one given all the hints and what we know about Ven, after all. Still, what are your thoughts about such a....odd pairing.

I think it's just as well that Ventus moved on, considering what happened to Ghetsis after Black and White 2.

Yeah....that's one of the main reasons why he broke up with Ghetsis, besides them become more and more of a monster. Can't love someone who's abandoned their principle that made them so 'good' to Ven, and can't care for someone who's violently lost their mind!

I'm kinda surprised you and Nathan are so torn up over Ventus going away, actually. With them gone, you two are no longer under the onus of their various hang ups and seething hatred/fear of Orthros, and can continue your plans unopposed and no longer fight with them over moralistic/pragmatic decisions.

That, and weren't you tired of his shit, and wanted it stopped? Well....its gone now, for better or worse. Hopefully better for all, really, as I rather not have history repeat on us....

It's a double-edged sword.  While there were a lot of frustrating traits for Ventus, there are also a lot of aspects to his character that I do like, and Nathan does have some reason to look up to some of those parts of Ventus.

Plus, Ventus entrusted Nathan with highly illegal, top-secret information on Genesect that could get both of them in massive trouble with the Unovan League, which is, quite frankly, an equally humongous sign of trust in this case.

In short, I would have very much liked it if Ventus could have followed some of Alder's advice on becoming stronger: even if you lose, if you do better than you did before, you'll have surpassed yourself. (I'm paraphrasing that a little).

On the flip side, it's rather...freeing to not have to worry about one of the major sources of conflict.  And I'd oh so much like it if the other silly ones could just be solved, too...

Also on the flip side, Ventus is ignoring the advice that Nathan gave Ventus concerning giving up back in Stair City...that's fairly jarring as well.

There's also a lot more to both sides than this.  I just wrote a small part of it down.  Nathan is totally messed up right now...

- (Find out how to) revive Claw and Toenail Fossils
- Sell Big Bullion and wire the cash as appropriate
- Sell $4100 worth of gemstones (3k from Bridge, 300 from Delibird, 800 from Ventus and Valder mining at the start of the trip through Mt. Sentry)
- Update Marta about what's been going on
- Teach a bunch of pokemon Rock Smash (didn't think this would be Gallade's first Fighting move, tbh...)
- Teach Gallade and Juliet Telekinesis via TM
- Spend a day with Shiva (tutor specialty stuff, Weather Battle, return the boots...maybe a museum trip to see the League section?)
- Use Juliet in a Kimono Girl battle?
- Battle Heart after Orthros evolves?
- Battle the new guy at some point?
- Battle Tanuki (and return the Relic Stone Shard)
- Talk with Dagny about the Scimitars?
- Track down Uncle Oscar?  (Or will he find Nathan first?  Hmmm...)
- Talk to Bill!
- Track down Keni Morgusi?
- Check the Silverfish Report Book over
- Call Cynthia!!! (Should probably give this one a little time first, though)
- Take a trip to the gemstone mine and clay pits with Rhea
- Polish that Sablenite!  And catch a Sableye?
- Prepare for the trip to Botanville, then Arrowroot, then the Nature Preserve

Most of those are just on Nathan's list.  Not all of them require another party member, and Cress is a great place to relax a little.

Fair warning guys: my new character wants to all have a chance to battle everyone in the group ASAP, and I'd like it for the first challenger be Nathan if at all possible, @Dragonstrike. He'll stretch the challenges over time, but he wants to challenge everyone to a fight for a good reason, or at least to him (Which will be revealed in the Gaming Thread!).

I don't wish to openly share my list of things to do now that we're back at the surface, it's my discretion. Shiva's going to need a while until she's really fine again after her dear oddball of a sociologist's absence until the journey's end, her state will be revealed when the new Day starts. Realizing that I am turning sad again now that he's really gone it seems like I need a while as well to get used to no more direct interactions with my favorite chara... :C


Shiva might not have time to spend a full day with you, Nathan, and I actually wished to hold off tutoring until she has gotten her 4th point in the matching Speciality - but given that I would rather accumulate those 50xp as quick as possible it'll take a while and I'm fine to tutor Porygon-Z anyway in Electroweb (please remember that she would like for you train 3 of her Pokemon while she tutors, k?) if you approach her with that request.
That weather-battle I'm fine with still, but as it's not super-high in my own  priorities that might have to wait a little. Same with our battle, Heart - at easiest you people just try your luck and ask her in-game, depending on the situation she might agree or kindly deny.

'For a good reason' kinda catches my interest. C:  I'm all down for a friendly battle outta-chara, in-chara depends on the circumstances but the odds strongly lean to 'yes'. I hope that Shiva will be able to...well, stand a chance against them... That, and I hope that this time they and Shiva can get to know each other a little earlier than it was the case with Ven, our ship interacted the first time rather late.
EDIT: I guess it'd be best if they'd get to have a small face-to-face talk in a private setting soon after coming to the group. Can that be arranged?
