[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole

Nathan vs Terra Introductory Battle Round 8

The fighting mushroom can move almost as fast as Manectric, when it comes to martial assault! So fast Solomon even has trouble predicting his fighting moves and minimizing their terribly-strong impact.

Mach Punch 1, not held back
(5)(2)(1)(3)(3)(6)
(1)(5)(5)(2)(5) Solomon takes 2 dmg and faints.

Nathan's next fighter is the paradoxical Delta Houndour. Though its appearance is gruesome, its tongue hangs out happily and it gives a playful gesture to Michael.

Initiative: (4) + 8 = 12, Michael will go first.

Poison Heal: 6/9hp -1 pain

And just to add to the contradiction is Orthros's entrance: the usual sphere of pure, inky black darkness caused by the Flash Ball that signals his arrival, lit up only by Orthros's bioluminessence.

Quite Intimidating at first glance for sure, if it were not for the currently friendly and playful attitude of the dog himself.

With another impercible and long sigh Shiva packs her cell away after Golda has hung up. "A hard worker, huh...?" She quietly says more to herself as she lets her gaze rest on her own Pokemon and remembers how things have been shortly after the receiving of Cottonee from Professor Mallorn. So many things have changed and she can definitely tell that she has grown in one way or the other - Could it be said that...she has been hard working as well? Well, maybe not directly on her battle skills (not solely, at last), but in various things? And why does she meet or hear from so many people she can look up to while traveling this region?! One thing's for certain though - She'll follow the broadacts or at least the news about Jo's Final Match to catch a glimpse on her and her Furfrou. She should be...back in time even with a battle herself in Stair City.

How the sweet Kirlia Slipper said 'thank you' for being placed in a glass filled with Vaporeon's water was delightful to watch and instantly elaborated Shiva's mood to a good degree!~ Tam will rejoice. Not today though - The sun has almost reached its peak and it may not do the orchid well to be planted during noon. After all, it grew within the darkness of Mount Sentry! For now it can remain here on the window sill in the glass and soak up more water with its root before it'll probably be planted [/b]later this day in the ancient grove of trees within Celebi Park.[/b] (That's the only place with the perfect soil that I can imagine?) Shiva found Nightshade curiously mustering the flower. Maybe she'll be able to bloom as well if Master made it to revive this beautiful plant??

That was dealt with and by now Shiva feels fine enough to leave the dorm and 'really' get started on the day. Or rather, get some errands done. Next Stops: Bill's PC and Violet Tent. But before that can happen... A light pet over the forehead of napping Dizzy and he gave her an awake and alerted look with his youth gleaming in his eyes. "Alright, Dizzy... I've called your trainers and hatchers. Good news, your delivery has arrived them and turns out to be valuable for further operations. Good job! They've also told me...that you know what to do, your mission's not yet over. It continues here in Cress City...." *small break and a chance for Dizzy to react* "I'm, well... Ah, I'm having stuff to do and will therefor leave you roam free. I'll go out, but I'm leaving the door of this room open. Alright? You're yet young, but you've decently showed that you are a CAPABLE young. You'll likely know how to not get in trouble. People here in Creshire may be a little...biased about your species, so please take care of yourself. To prevent anyone from chasing you away or even trying to catch you, please take this." A black ribbon with yellow rims gets loosely wrapped around Dizzy's neck, it's the same one Shiva usually ties the bow of her outfit. "It faintly smells after me, correct. Use the scent to find me or find back to this room if needed, if things are very urgent you can also try to find the others of the group. Except...Ventus, ah.... Nevermind. I won't ask you about your business, but please stay safe, will you?"

With that said and done... She withdraws all her Pokemon except Raphael, Vaporeon and Dizzy, and leaves the room while the latter stays in. If he'd follow her or wishes to accompany her a little, she won't object.

So, Preparations before heading to the fleemarket of the occult Shiva has grown so fond of: The plan is to wrap up ALL three trades in one visit, it'll all take up the second Encounter Slot. If this trip can count as a concealed and independant Training Session for Yena as he gets to know all the various scents there that's be optimal as well - butterwolfly's getting a lot of attention at the moment, but the earlier he got his new move the earlier I can head to Corsage Port for Gym Battle and the earlier I'm fine with leaving Cress. Third and last Encounter of today will be a battle, then we can rest and plant an orchid and watch the news.

At Bill's PC, a semi-big group swap is done: Cottonee *sob*, Vulpix, Nightshade are deposited while Marowak, Smore and *Frillish are withdrawn. The Eevee Egg is withdrawn as well and Vaporeon can watch as it's carefully placed within the Fast Incubator and further secured with the fluff off Cottonee and Primal Altaria!~ It's also scanned with the Egg Checker on her Almanac for status and gestation process.

With THAT done, Shiva finally steps out into the fresh air while the sliding door of the Pokemon Center closes with a low 'whooooosh' behind her and Raphael and Yena beside her. There are still clouds - but it promises to be a brighter day later. Onward to the Violet Tent then is it - has anything changed since the last time Shiva has been there?

Dizzy seems to already know his next mission. Leaving the door open for him is perfect. When she gets back to the room later today, she finds he's removed the ribbon though. He gives her an innocent look.

+1 XP for Yena, sniffing everything in the strange Violet Tent, including many things that are ghostly or psychic.

The Eevee Egg isn't anywhere close to hatching, but your Egg Checker does recognize it has a gene that will make it hatch a little faster.

In the Violent Tent, there's no Mr. Finder. There are two new booths that might be relevant to a trainer: the Traveling Librarian, and the Clockmaker.

Fuuu, Dizzy could have said something. Shiva could never be mad at the young Absol though, and as long as ribbon's not torn all is well! If it is, she's haveing spare ones.

Oh, right: How does Raphael react to visiting this place actually? This is 99.9%ly a place that Ventus would have NEVER visited with him, but the archangel would likely notive that Shiva, very differently, enjoys this place to the utmost. If there's no Mr. Finder, she couldn't pay him a quick visit even if she'd wanted to, but things are likely just fine then. Next!

The first thing to do was to find a jeweller or someone who dabbles in the hidden potential of gemstones, and sell a bunch of just these to them. "Here, I collected them somewhere deeep in Mount Sentry, deeper than I myself thought the mountain'd reach. Yena, dear one, do you still have that one a Delibird once gifted you?" A joyful yip later and the black dog-hyena adds a red gemstone worth 400$ to the heap. A bit of his shield dust is probably still on it as he carried it in his black fur. The raw jadeite Chi is holding stays with her and isn't sold. (-gemstones, +3400$)

With more cash to spend, onwards to some definite buyings:
 - One set of Magic Beans [Image: Dream_Miracle_Seed_Sprite.png] is overly happy purchased and given to Raphael for temporally carrying. "Can you feel the resting POWER within this seed, Raphael? Hopefully no giant beanstack will grow from you or it, haha." (-1200$, +1 Miracle Seed)
- More tea, in fact one can. [Image: 0004.jpg] Tea is never wrong and minor augurys sound great. (-500$, +1 Tea)

With that done Shiva takes a stroll through various booths where they sell or trade unique items  and held items - including the booth with herbal medicine, the Traveling Librarian and the Clockmaker. She's on the look-out for something that'll catch her eye, gladly something that looks arcane or weird AND that she'd get for a Marowak holding a Thick Club (worth 1500$, can pay 500$ additionally if a custom-item is extra-worthy)

EDIT: At the Clockmaker, Shiva will also show Eternally Gold. "Someone dear to me found this pocket watch during traveling and gifted it to me. What can you...tell me about its origins or value?"

Contrary to how most people would react , Terra actually smiled when Orthros was summoned onto the battlefield, reaching into his pocket to toss out a couple of marshmallows to them before turning to Nathan.

"I was hoping that I would get to see your doggie in combat, so thank you from bringing them here. Let's see what trick you have taught to them, yes? *Look then turns curious* Weird summoning, though. Never seen a Pokeball…produce a sphere of blackness before, not even a Dusk Ball...."

He then turned towards his newest martial partner 'Mikey' and gave him a much gruffer and stern stare (which carried over to his voice), though it never reach true disappointment or irritation/angry.

"You show great power and skill with your Moves under me, but you need to work on controlling it all better. Otherwise, your attacks will go wide or have most of its force......diminished when trying to hit an opponent. Understood?"

After waiting for some form of acknowledgement from the mushroom of champions, the rugged wander re-crossed him arms and nodded his head at them, back to his usual unflappable calm.

"Good. Now......demonstrate more of your repertoire to everyone with utmost skill, Mikey."

Nom nom nom!  Those marshmallows don't last very long!  Orthros even toasts them in seconds with his Flamethrower before chowing down this time.

Nathan chuckles at the comment concerning Orthros's flashy entry.  "Creshire has a few unique pokeballs you'll only find here."  *holds up Orthros's pokeball*  "This one's called a Flash Ball.  Takes a picture of the surrounding area when you throw it, and you can set it as the pokeball's entry effect if ya like.  Of course, perfect darkness isn't exactly a picture of anything in particular...it's just what you get when the Flash Ball is unable to take a proper picture.  It's not exactly easy to pull off, but I quite like how the effect turned out for Orthros here."

*bark bark!*

"Well, guess it's time to show Terra here what makes you so special, isn't it, boy?  Go get 'em!"

Orthros's tail is wagging enthusiastically.  Oh boy, it's play time!  Here he comes!

Raphael doesn't share Ventus' hatred of magic, but so much of what's in the Violet Tent is fake that he doesn't really react much.

Something does catch your eye at the Traveling Librarian - a colorful picture book with a hero who is dressed a lot like a White Keenglaive. The villain is similarly armored, but all in black. It's called "The Hero of Flame."

Shiva could purchase 3 Apricorn seedlings for that Marowak. They take a year to mature to the point of bearing fruit, though.
Someone is trading a Bidoof with 8th-generation HM moves: Rock Smash and Cut. They'd take a Marowak.
There's a full witch's outfit for $2000, made all of heavy black silk, including a hat. It's so dark that all jewelry shows up really bright against it. The model wearing it has sewn silvery stars all over it.

The Clockmaker winds up the instrument, carefully weighs it, listens to it. "First Technical Society. Amazing. Some of their work lasts millennia. But for this to be in such good condition, it must come from just before their Fall when they were wiped out. And it must have been preserved somehow. Or restored. There were alchemists in Sarimanok's court. Could have fixed this up. League won't let you use this in any high-stakes battles. I would give you $5000 for it. But it's worth more than that as a battle item. Don't let anyone talk you into trying to fix it or improve it. We don't have the technology nowadays."

Nathan vs Terra Introductory Battle Round 9

Orthros can feel Michael predicting his next move!

Mind Reader 1
(1)(2)(5)(3)(2)

Extrasensory 1
(4)(2)(1)(5)(5)(1)(4)(6) Critical hit.
(4)(2)(3)(6)(5) Michael takes 4 dmg 2/9hp -2 pain.
Flinch: (3)

Michael leaps high into the air and stomps down to bring rocks bursting up out of the earth. A wildly inaccurate move, but he knew exactly where Orthros would be.
Stone Edge 2, held back
(5) (6)(6)
(5)(3)(2)(3)(4) Orthros takes 1 dmg 5/6hp
Looks like Orthros is a little tougher than predicted.

Extrasensory 2
(6)(3)(6)(4)(2)(4)(3)
(6)(5)(1) Michael takes 3 dmg and faints.

The traveling monk could only look on with slight wonder and respect as that now reveal (to him) Psychic doggie overpowered Mikey's mind and forced him into unconsciousness, as he recalled them to their Pokeball and snapped it on his belt and then looked at Nathan with even more appraisal and curiosity now!

"The Houndour here are part Psychic type instead of Dark/Fire? *Begins stroking his beard* Very strange, but very interesting too. Leaves them weak to Ghost and Dark, but gives them better coverage. *Looks at you with admiration as he nods head* Good job training them well to take full.....advantage of its.....unique traits."

Terra then reached down to pluck a Dusk Ball next, and hefted it twice into the air as he stared at you with seriousness yet mild.....amusement?

"Its time for you to both face my trickiest and most micheviuos partner Genie, Nathan and doggie. Good luck."

He then tossed out the ball, and in a flash of light a moderately sized winged formed manifested, until it was finally revealed to be a Flygon, who almost immediately darted right onto the battlefield and started flinting to and fro in the air, looking her opponent from all angles to find any weakness she could capitalize on.

Ooh, this is a pretty weird Houndour she's facing, and it looks so scary looking too! Wonder what surprises it has under its paws, hmm? *Giggles* Not that it matters, though. She's going to have a lots of 'fun' with this doggies, no matter how 'frightening' it really is! *More snickering, this time with her covering her mouth and it sounding much more....sinister*

The rugged wanderer was quick to shoot them a commanding look that caused them to cease their diabolical laughter, before saying to them "Behave. You can play with them, but not too roughly."

The desert djin puffed her cheeks out at such a command, not too pleased she asked to restrain her more....fanciful tendencies, but none the less she complied with a roll of her eyes, turning to full face Orthros with a much less sinister but still.....'excitable' grin. If she can't have THAT much 'fun' with them, she'll just get the most out of what little she can!
