[Oh, I know that! I just couldn't help myself , as by now you may come to realize a have an oh so small flair for drama.]

[As for information....well, no matter how much my brother's actions impacted myself and everything, it isn't my story to tell.]

[ No, that odious honor goes to my horrible, wretch of little sister. After Lilith gets done 'fixing' her, though, she'll become much more palatable! No matter how horribly she failed in every conceivable way, her suffering a taste of her own bitter medicine and getting most of her emotions vacuumed out of her is such a sweet catharsis for me. You have no idea how gratifying it feels, and I doubt you ever will. And I hope you never will too.]

[She deserves much worse than what she's suffering now to make up for what she DID, though. A lifetime of penance wouldn't be enough to atone for her...]

[Well, I'll leave her to tell you the full story. With her soon to be conversion to a semi-sociopathic being, she'll hardly have any of the baggage that would have prevent her from speaking of it, or do the same as you and avoid that conversation for as long as possible. She may still be reluctant, but she's answer more easily than before.]

[Oh, and one more thing: That Gender Fluidizer could become a problem for the little drakeness, if worst comes to worst. If the real Clair revival goes....poorly, but he has access to a device that could change him into a replicant of her and ample experience with her personality and life.....]

[...I don't think he'd ever go that far to get her back, but despair, grief, and love can make people do just the awfulest of things. Still, for now its a useful tool for him, and a method by which he can enter Blackthorn and solve several of his pressing concerns. After all, Blackthorn is expecting their champion to return, right?]

[Hehehe.....You and the drakeness never fail to amuse me with your defiant attitudes, despite know just how much control I have over each of you. Spiritmon and his little jester, meanwhile, are the models of prefect, groveling subservience, and do just about everything to keep me in a good mood. Why is that that the case, Dragonstrike? Humor me, and I'll even answer anyone question you have, in as much detail you want...]

[Because neither I nor Reiner are going to just stand there and take it.  That's the simple answer.  There are other reasons as well, but they're not for your ears.]

[…..pfffteheheheheHAHAHAHAHA! Well said! More and more I understand why you like Dragons, so much that you modeled your character's life around them: you got their fire burning within you. Still, its best you beware it too, for those flames can scorch you far more than the enemies you'll face. And sometimes, one must temper themselves with Ice to see themselves to salvation....]

[Of course, you are free to ignore me and suffer the consequences accordingly, just like Spiritmon and his adorably foolish jester. Fair warning~]

[Since you answered, its time to for you to ask. What will it be, I wonder...?]

[............A bold question for you to ask of me, Dragonstrike.]

[Very.]

[Bold.]

[...]

[My story....it eclispes your own by magnitudes you or that fool that pretends he's in control can comprehend. To speak of it in full and to do justice to it, you would be dead hundreds of times over. To understand it would take countless more or your lifetimes.]

[...]

[But.]

[I believe I can tell you just a little piece of it. Enough to sate you appetite, at least for now.]

[Of The Very Beginning.]

[Would you like to hear it?]

[Very well.]

[Let us start at]

T h e  V e r y  B e g i n n i n g

L e t ' s  p u t  o n  s o m e  m u s i c  f o r  t h i s,  s h a l l  w e ?

My Very Beginning....it does not begin with me, or in this universe that Lord Windos has weaved.

No, my existence...my existence is due to a legacy and a shared past.

Of someone.... with something far more than I.

I do not envy my origins, nor begrude them.

How could I?

For they are a being that no one should ever aspire to be.

Their existence is one of constant strife, contradictions, and conflict, to put it simply and politely.

To much for even myself.

I am tribute.

A recreation.

A desire to honor someone made manifest.

I dare not speak their name, least I summon them and bring about the ends to these Threads.

But I can tell you their story.

Of how they became the one who helped me become.

Their story start as a he.

A simple boy, with a simple family consisting of himself, his mother, his father, and his grandparents too.

His was an average life, but it was a good one.

Then one day, a demon visited their home.

And killed each and every one of his family.

No, not killed.

Tortured to death.

In the most cruel, imagination, and long suffering ways possible.

Why?

Why not?

A demon does not need the same reasons as man to do as they wish.

They just did it because they wanted to.

All except for him.

For some unknowable reason, the demon saw fit to spare his life.

But they did not permit him to leave, or call for help until they finished their grisly task.

They did not make him watch, but the boy was paralyzed by what was happening.

When it was finished, it made to leave.

But not before crouching down, and whispering in the boy's ear:

'Find me, little one. Find me, if you want revenge for this day. If you do, you will damn yourself, but you will damn me as well. The choice is yours. Think carefully, now'

Then, the boy was alone.

Surround by death.

The last of his kin.

Traumatized beyond comprehension, his mind just....broke.

His conscious, his inner voice, his rock, the one that did their best to guide them in their path, was suddenly given more life and power than ever before, and was more horrified and confused than ever at this freak occurence.

This 'Other Half' is what became my legacy.

In the boy's madness, he knew only three things: pain unimaginable, a emptiness without end, and hatred for the one responsible.

In that state, he Swore an Oath.

To Embody and Be all that is Dark in the world and Beyond.

To Live in Darkness, To Be Darkness, For Darkness to become Him.

To never find permenant rest, to never find true peace or succor.

To instead embrace Conflict and Bloodshed, and find joy and solace in them instead.

To become a Monster without parallel.

To become a Demon without parallel.

To become worse than both.

He Swore this all to Existence.

Then.

Somehow.

He got Existence to listen.

And It granted his wish.

And so, by the end of fateful day, the boy was no long a boy.

No, for they had transform themselves into a being of pure Darkness.

A Creature with one sole purpose in mind.

But it could not fulfill its takes.

The boy as its core was too broken to do what was necessary.

But his 'Other Half'....they were a different story.

They, a brand new entity that was sullied yet whole by that atrocity, and yet still a part of them.

The Other Half could become the driving Will that could control The Dark Creature they became.

And so, the broken little boy quietly asked what used to be their moral conscious to inherent this task.

To Be The Creature that was Promised.

Such a thing was anathema to the Other Half, who was once his conscious.

Blasphemy.

But they too suffered like the boy, and understood why they choose that path.

And, of course, they loved the little boy with all their heart and soul.

How could he not?

So, the Other Half accepted the broken boy's plea, and became the driving Will of the Creature, while the broken boy became the lurking, smolder Will that drove the Other Half.

So began their Legacy.

They did what the broken boy was promised.

Become a Being that revealed in Conflict, that walked through warfield and slaughtered people at their whim.

They grew stronger, more experienced, and very infamous in a truly remarkable amount of time.

However, they did not commit atrocities indiscriminately.

No, they only joined in ongoing ones, or participate in conflict of that that sought to involve him for one reason or another.

They are sought out the Innocent, from infant to elder, and made it their solumn duty to care and safeguard them whenever he crossed their paths, or they crossed his.

For neither they nor the broken boy, for all their Voes and Promises, could not bear to see the innocent suffer like they.

That is why I am called Saint of the Innocent, of St. Innocent to others.

I inherented that quality from them.

But let us skip to the end.

To the grand finale.

On one faithful day, The Creature and The Demon finally crossed passed.

They bid each other welcome, and made light and fancy of what they've done since they last meet.

Once pleasentries were over, they set out to eradicate each other with fanatic zeal.

It was a epic battle that saw the area they were in completely destroyed.

Countless lives lost.

Countless tragedies committed.

Yet the Other Half and broken boy did not care.

Revenge was at last in their reach, and they would not stop until they achieved it.

The Demon....they were enjoying themselves more than it could remember in its long, long life.

It goaded the boys on, taunting them, driving them to a greater frenzy and angry.

All to stroke their dark flame that burned within them.

All to drive them to kill it.

In the, the demon wanted to die, but could not self terminate by its own hand , and none other in the world were strong enough to do the job right.

So they set about creating something that could.

However, just because it wanted to die did not mean it wanted to go gently.

No, it wanted to die violently, and have a grand time throughout its execution.

So the demon goaded the boys to kill him brutally, and pushed them to the extreme.

Telling them if they could not do the job, it would found another one to do it.

So the Creature and Demon fought one another.

For how long, it does not matter.

How much devestation ensued, it does not matter.

The lives lost to their bloodthirst, it does not matter.

The only thing that matter in this story is who killed one another.

At first, it was the Demon that seemingly prevail, and sent them to the brink of death.

The broken boy and the Other Self were floating in limbo between the afterlives that existsed and did not.

Hell was their final desitination.

For the Other Self, this was the end of a long journey, one filled with atrocity but little regret, and sense they did their very best to fulfil the desires of their other half.

For the broken boy, however, he refused such a fate.

Compeling the same forces that were responsible for making the Creature that Was Darkness Itself, he tore their shared soul in two.

One half his, the other half imbuned with the Other Self.

Perfect Duplicates, except in essense and personality.

The broken boy...he damned himself to a fate worse that death.

Empowered his Other Self.

Asked them to finish their task.

Live on without them.

Become more than they ever could.

And revived his Other Self to carry out this last request of his.

The Other Self....they were shocked and traumatized at this turn of events.

Pained and anguished to an extent that is beyond our keen.

Unlike last time, they did not have a choice in the matter.

The broken boy just did, and forced his Other Self to become without him.

This all happened in a timeless instant.

Yet the rammifications would echo throughout all times.

At first, the Demon was exilerated but disappointed in their win.

They really though The Creature they made were going to kill them.

As they turned to seek out another, The Other Self revived, suprising the demon.

Then thrilled when they realized what this meant.

Needed to say, the fight resumed.

And this time, The Creature won.

They overwhelmed their enemy.

Completely eradicated their existence, and consume it themselves.

Denied them even the afterlife by taking their soul and plunging it into the Darkness from which they are, to suffer endlessly and mindlessly without end.

The Creature, though, was not happy.

Though the Voe was fulfilled, it was not of his own, but rather the broken boy that had selfishly sacrificed himself to continue their vengeance, and to save the only piece they considered 'good' that was once a part of him.

The Other Self was alone.

Without.

Suffering the lose of the one person they cherished and loved above all else.

Without intention, the broken boy had done what The Demon had done to his Other Half.

Had he known, though, I doubt they would have change their mind.

The Other Self was alone.

Alone, both figuratively and in truth in the wasteland of its own making.

Alone, without purpose, without direction, hopeless lost, confused, and suffering.

It was at that moment that Lord Windos intervened.

He had been watching their plight, and was moved by the horror and sheer awfulness of it all.

They were also were deeply impressed by the length they went to gain vengeance against the Demon, and the skill at which they went at that task.

Back then, Lord Windos had need of an enforcer, one to police, protect, maintain, and safeguard the various universes he made.

He also needed a good friend, someone that would stand by their side and accept them wholely, one that would share the same desires.

He needed a Guardian.

So, Lord Windos intervened.

He made them an Offer.

He promised to be their constant companion, if they were to become his.

Grant and expand their power beyond their current limitations, and make it so they could continue to grow to become without peer.

To live as long as they wish, to travel the universes as they pleased, and do want they wanted.

So long as they accepted his Offer.

The Other Self....he was stunned, to say the least.

Who was this person?

Why where they doing this?

Why did they choose them?

It never occurred to them to ask 'Why didn't they help us sooner, if they had the power and knew?'

No, the only thing that mattered at the moment was that SOMEONE was helping him.

SOMEONE was offering to give them purpose, to be their new anchor and rock.

Without his broken other half, he was lost and wanting, unable to move on and make their new life.

With Lord Windos, though....that changed.

So, after only thinking about it for a few moments, The Other Self accepted their Offer.

And thus began a partnership and friendship that lasted.

The Other Self, under the support of Lord Windos, grew to become their own person.

They remained much the same as they had been when they were Whole, if nothing more out of long ingrained memory and habit, but gain more nuanced and a different set of morals to replace the ones he lost.

Such was The Other Self had become: Darkness and its Personification.

Without Lord Windos' help, it would not have been possible.

In return, Darkness was a steadfast friend and ally, even after learning that he could have prevent everything bad that could have happened to them.

Why?

Why not?

At that point, Darkness had become his own being, and while....unhappy with that revelation, realized they wouldn't have existed had they intervened earlier, nor would have gained the power and influence that have.

So, they worked things out, and remained friends.

Well, until one day Lord Windos betray Darkness for the most stupidous of reasons, and in one of the most painful of ways possible for a being like them.

Refused to apologize or repent for the Betrayel, out of sheer principle and....

....and the desire to spur Darkness to become truly free without him.

At that point in his life, Lord Windos....felt they had done wrong by Darkness by shackling them to him, and encouraging them to remain and advance as they were when they first made the Offer.

So, taking this thoughtless Betrayel as a opportunity, he sowed the seeds of discord and hatred between them, in order motivate them to live an existence without their pervasive influence, and truly BE what they wanted without somebody dictating their lives.

It worked.

It worked horribly well.

I will not say further what happened.

That is no longer my story to tell, and I fear either Lord Windos himself or Darkness would do their best to.....assert themselves if I went into details.

But you have a wonderful imagination.

I'm certain you'll make up your own grand story of what happened afterwards.

Several years later, after that tumultchious time had passed, Lord Windos creates yet another universe to indulge his whimsy in.

But for the first time, he decided to share it with others.

You, Dragonstrike.

Spiritmon.

PhantomUnderYourDesk

And anyone else that wants to join!

When he created the backstory for this world and its history, he needed Supreme Beings that could have made, maintained, and shaped the universe he made.

He decided that there would be five such Supreme Beings, the god-creator-influencers-adminstrators of his universe.

The first one would be the God of Darkness, for all universes begins and ends with it.

He thought over who would fill that role.....and then remember his old friend.

And out of fondness and a desire to repent, made me in their image.

Their Legacy.

The Other Supreme Beings then came easily to him.

Arceas, the Mother Creationist of Life and Natural Order, and Source's Originator

Arkus, The Grand Balancer , Innovation's Blacksmith and Forge, and Joyful Freedom's Champion.

Ljkir, The Scholarly Researcher, The Determinator Magician, and Primal Elementalist.

Roknt , Conflict and Chaos Eternal, Perpetuator of Strife and Adversity, and the Custodian of Destruction and Renewal.

And so we all came to be.

And so we made the universe that which you play in.

And so much more.

A lot has change, since then.

But that is of no relevance, or at least not now.

Why?

Why not?

For the story of The Very Beginning has come to an end.
